Dear Parents: Thank You for Bringing Your Children to Church

Thank you for Children Entrusted to ME

“I can’t think of a better way for God's family to enter the church building on a Sunday morning than by shaking your hand and receiving a high-five from your child. “

Survival in the Sanctuary

I’ve seen them. You probably have too. Exhausted looking parents walking from the church to the parking lot as their children walk, run, hop, cry, fight, or refuse to make their way to the car. I’ve been one of those parents. When my kids were little, Sunday mornings were wild as struggled to get the kids dressed, fed, and out the door in time for church.

We’d stuff Steph into her snowsuit and realize she needed a diaper change. We’d insert Sam into her car seat and notice she was missing a shoe. Kailey and Tara would tease each other as they waited in the back seat. All this and we hadn’t even left the driveway.

Sometimes Sunday worship services felt ‘survival in the sanctuary’ for my husband and I as we tolerated the twenty minutes it took before the children were invited to leave for Sunday school.

But I also remember how my heart would leap during those services when I’d hear our kids singing along, when I’d watch them shake an extended hand during the passing of the peace, and when they’d carefully place their own quarters in the collection plate.

Although I’m now the shortest one in the row when I stand beside my grown children on a Sunday morning, my eyes still well up when I watch them worship.

Children in Church

As people engaged in communicating the love of God to children, we know the value of age appropriate learning led by loving teachers using pedagogically sound resources. And we also understand the importance of including children in intergenerational worship.

Too often I’ve witnessed parents, weary and worried about disrupting the service, apologize to the people around because their children were wiggly or loud. They shouldn’t have to feel that way. Parents, grandparents, and other caregivers may wonder at times if it is worth all the effort. This letter is for them:

A Letter to Parents

Dear Parents,

Thank you for bringing your babies to worship. When I was a young mom, we were encouraged to bring our babies to the nursery, not the sanctuary, so I missed out on cuddling my newborn while Psalms were read and songs were sung. Seeing you rock your little one to sleep from across the aisle reminds us that God’s family includes all ages.

I’m glad you’re taking your toddlers along too. One Sunday during worship I saw a 2-year old-girl passed lovingly from one set of arms to another all the way down the row from where she had been sitting with her mom.

Everyone wanted a chance to hold her as she waved her hands to the music and watched her father play the keyboard at the front of the sanctuary.

Watching each person extend their arms toward this little one and ask, “me too?” was watching our baptismal promises come to life.

Thank you for including your preschoolers.

When little Dakota and Ayo spontaneously held each other’s hands last week and began dancing in the aisles to the beat of the music, they showed us what it means to worship God with joyful abandon.

And when Lily makes her way over to her grandpa, climbs up on his lap, and looks at him while he sings songs of praise, the two of them are painting a beautiful picture of one generation calling to the next.

I’m so glad you’re looking for opportunities to involve your children in worship.

I can’t think of a better way for God's family to enter the church building on a Sunday morning than by shaking your hand and receiving a high-five from your child.

You taught your child what it means to give back the day he opened his zipper sealed plastic bag and poured the coins he'd collected into the offering for the hurricane victims he’d seen on the news.

During baptism, when your child joins the crowd that comes forward to pray for and lay hands on the person who was baptized, he knows he belongs and we're getting a live snapshot of what it means to be an intergenerational body of believers. Thank you for making morning announcements, while your son clings to your leg and your daughter holds your hand. You’re teaching them that talking to God’s family isn’t so different from sharing a story around the kitchen table.

Speaking of supper, participating in the Lord’s Supper with your kids nurtures our faith as it nurtures theirs.

Lining up with believers of all ages to receive the elements, and observing an adult get down on one knee to make eye contact with a child to say, “Jesus gave his life for you, Evan,” reminds us that Jesus died for all of us.

Watching a girl balance her pink plastic purse on one arm, as she carefully walks back to her seat while carrying a precious piece of bread and a ready-to-overflow cup of juice, reminds us what a special and abundant gift we’re receiving.

Parenting is hard work. I know that some Sundays you’re just longing to sit in silence. And I suspect that there have been times when you’ve felt your wee ones weren’t always welcome in worship. Please persist.

Because, in addition to the blessings your children bring to us as God’s family when we worship together, you’re training your child to do the one thing we get to do forever: worship (Robbie Castleman, Parenting in the Pew).

Children learn by observing. But they learn even more by participating. So keep coming. Keep trying. We’re glad you’re here.

Powerful Prayers for Children and Kids [Quotes & Verses]

Thank you for Children Entrusted to ME

On this page you'll find bible verses and prayers for our children are the most precious things ever entrusted to us to raise, care for, and love unconditionally.

Children are our future, and as parents, it is our duty to provide them with support and aspirations to succeed in life.

And more importantly, to teach our children about the gift of Jesus Christ, how He is the King of Kings, and our Lord of Lords in all things, and at all times.

Our children often face challenges along the road to success with all the pressures of society; from academic related studies, to the pressures of fitting in with new social groups and peers at school.

Through the power of prayer, your child will have the protection and guidance they need for a successful start to their aspirations, and day-to-day life.

Because of prayer, you can have faith in the knowledge that you are giving your children everything they deserve, need and long for as beautiful human beings, but also as a child of God.

If the need for prayer and protection for your children is what you are seeking most, whether in your own life, or in the life of someone you love, let us pray for you at the holiest place on earth, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.

We have faith that sending your prayer to the place where our Lord Jesus Christ gave his life for us will help your request be granted! It is our honor and privilege to be a prayer warrior for you, and to ask the Lord to watch over you, protect you, and keep you, always.

Please submit your prayer request today.

“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.” Psalm 127:3

Prayer for Protection and Care Over Our Children

Heavenly Father, we praise you for Your love and faithfulness in all things. We thank You for your protection and care over our families. Thanks be to You for giving us wisdom and righteousness for raising our children. We confess that some days, parenting is very tough.

Many days we can feel anxious, stressed or overwhelmed. We ask that You would make us more You, more aware of your constant Presence in our lives. Help us to release our children to You, so that You are free to fully accomplish all that You desire within the hearts of our child(ren).

Please fill our day to day life with Your truth, and cover us with Your favor in all things. Amen.

Prayer for Your Child’s Salvation

Father, I pray that my children will learn and understand Your holy scriptures, which are able to make them wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. I pray that Your word will fill their minds and their hearts. May they come to know that You are the way, the truth, and the light.

Prayer for Child’s Health and Healing

Lord, according to Your Word, Jesus took stripes on His body so that we could be healed. He carried our infirmities, our downfalls, and bore our sicknesses to save us, and give us life.

Therefore, I ask for You to heal my child. I believe that they can and will be healed because of your miraculous power.

Please comfort them, watch over them, and give me the strength to do what is best for them in their time of need. Amen.

Prayer for Your Child’s Wisdom and Learning

I come to you Father, and pray that my children are knowledgeable and skillful in all wisdom, discernment, and understanding that I know is a gift from You.

I pray that they are competent to learn whatever they need to know, and that Your spirit fills them fully in all things. Lord, I know You can and You will give them the aptitude for understanding and wisdom when they are young, and when they are grown.

Their foundation starts with You, and I am grateful. In Your name I pray these things, Amen.

Prayer for Your Child’s Obedience to the Lord’s Will

My gracious Lord, I pray that my children conform to Your will in every purpose, thought and action at all times. When they are faced with decisions, that they will raise their eyes to You for guidance.

Life is full of uncertainty, but if they look to You in all things, I have deep faith in knowing You will lead them. I pray that they will follow Your plan for them, and always practice what is pleasing to You.

May Your everlasting love fill their hearts and minds before speaking, planning or moving forward when it comes to decision making.

May they always be obedient to You in their youth, and as they grow.

“He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.” Matthew 18:2-6

“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6

“Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.” Exodus 20:12

Thank You Message to a Teacher from a Parent

Thank you for Children Entrusted to ME

We present you great samples of a sincere thank you message to a teacher from a parent. All messages can be used by parents who want to express their sincere gratitude for all the work teachers do for their children to get education and learn skills. The work teacher does is not easy at all.

That is why it is a great idea to support your teacher and send him a nice message with words of respect and gratitude. You are lucky to have a good teacher as it is very rare these days. The future of your child depends on your upbringing and the education he gets at school.

Therefore, his future is partly in hands of teachers.

A good teacher is everything a parent can never be. Thanks, for being one.

Dear teacher, thanks for not making us learn the way you wanted to teach, but teaching us the way we wanted to learn.

Thank you for teaching out child how to read and write, for guiding him to distinguish between what is wrong and what is right. For allowing him to dream and soar as a kite, thank you for being his friend, mentor and light.

Thank you for being an excellent educator! We know teachers you are not easy to find. We appreciate your time, your patience, your ability to make a dry subject interesting, and your smile.

I just want you to know that you are the best teacher. You simply stand among the rest. Please accept my gratitude for everything you did for my children. I feel so blessed to have an amazing teacher you in my life. Thank You.

The most sincere and heart-felt “Thank you” to the teacher who provided us all with support, guidance and precious life lessons. Your students will always keep you in their hearts!

Thank you for continuing to teach despite a lack of recognition by politicians and the media. But we can’t just blame them – as parents we need to be more appreciative too.

We parents may be accountants, scientists, doctors and engineers – but nothing contributes to the nation’s development more than the sacrifices made by teachers. Thank you.

Parents have got the easy job of raising our own kids. They are rewarded for all their sacrifices with the joy of watching their own blood grow up into fine young men and women.

Teachers have got the tough jobs. Their rewards are limited to the hope that their wisdom will make a tiny difference in the lives of children, helping them to be better human beings.

Thank you for all your selfless sacrifices.

You are the best Teacher in this world. I am really thankful to God for blessing me with a teacher you. Thanks a lot for guidance.

Our children are safeguarded from all of life’s negative influences, because teachers you shower their love in ton and not just ounces. Thanks.

Dear teacher… thank you for having the smallest of tempers and the biggest of hearts.

I feel so blessed to have a teacher you for my child. I am a witness on how dedicated you are in teaching your students and I feel relieved that you are the one who will be nurturing her/his future. Thank you and may you keep up the good work!

Would you to thank the teacher of your child for his work? You can send one of our thank you letter to teacher from parent. Such a letter will look great and your teacher will appreciate your effort.

The year has ended but your teachings remain. Thanks for everything, teacher.

I want you to know how grateful we are to have you as the teacher of our children. Your teaching style really engages the kids and gets them pumped up and excited about learning.

It’s wonderful to see them coming home in a very happy mood, with wonderful things to say about you, and eager to share what they`ve learned in class that day.

I appreciate all of your hard work, and the positive learning environment you provide for your students.

I challenge anybody in the whole world to find a better teacher than you. You’ve set a great example for all of us to follow, you’ve inspired us to be better people and to always strive to do our personal best. Thank you for being such an amazing teacher!

Thank you also for absorbing the pressure caused by tests and exams, and also of inspections. Though you have never shown any sign of being stressed by this to me as a parent, it wouldn’t be surprising if all of this monitoring and constant pressure to meet ever rising expectations did result in a bit of a strain.

It is impossible to thank a teacher. There are no words, to appreciate someone whose words empower children to chase their dreams.

Schools, colleges and universities don’t achieve acclaim because of their historical buildings, heavy funding or celebrity alumni. They become great because they have outstanding faculty you. Thank you.

In this note I want to tell you that you are the best.  You shine above all the rest. So accept my thanks for all you do . As parents we’re indeed very lucky to have you in our child’s life.

A year full of lessons from you adds to a lifetime of empowerment. Thank you for your patience in imparting knowledge.

There are two types of teachers, one who teach their students what the syllabus dictates and the other, who go beyond the coursework to teach their students things that life dictates. Thank you for being the latter.

Thank you for creating an environment of enthusiasm for learning, appreciation for growing, and room for making mistakes along the way.

If there were a Nobel Prize for Best Teacher, I’m sure you would get it! Thank you for being such an amazing person and a true inspiration!

Thank you for doing all of this, day after day, no matter what. Whether you are nursing the early stages of a cold, or dealing with whatever dramas might be going on in your personal lives (let’s face it – we all have them!), you are there. Un most people in regular jobs you can’t have the odd day taking it easy – you are performing up in front of 30 eager little faces, come rain or shine.

As a wonderful teacher, you may not realize that all good teachers have good parental qualities. But as good parents, we realize that we don’t have exquisite teaching qualities yours. Thank you for taking good care of our child.

Nothing can come close to the inspirational presence of a teacher you in a student’s journey. You have no idea how important a role you play in shaping for a student, a brilliant destiny. Thank you.

Appreciation Notes for Teacher from Parents

It is a great idea to unite with all parents and send your teacher appreciation notes from parents. You will surprise the teacher of your child and make him or her feel special. It is important to know that your efforts are appreciated and valued.

There may be lots of free tutorials online, but nothing comes close to the experience of being personally taught by you. Thank you for your patience the whole year long.

No words can express my gratitude to you. Thank you for the encouragement, kindness, Patience and everything you did for my child. Thank you.

Before meeting you, I never thought that a person could be a teacher, support, mentor and philosopher all in one! Thank you for all your hard work and dedication!

Thank you for protecting me as a parent from what must be difficult and pressured times within schools. Due to funding cuts, I read in the media reports of class sizes going up, school trips no longer happening, and resources and materials being limited. There are also stories of teaching assistants’ hours being reduced and teachers not being replaced when they leave.

Google, Wikipedia, Wikihow, Seventeen and Encyclopaedias have no place in our child’s life because of awesome teachers you. Thanks for being our child’s one-stop helpline.

Thank you very much, Teacher. I noticed the improvement of my child since you became his/her teacher. My son/daughter can now read and write short words and phrases. Thank for so much for the encouragement and teachings.

Ordinary teachers teach their students to be good human beings by asking them to read inspirational books. Great teachers you teach their students to be good human beings by being an inspiration themselves. Thank you.

You have and will continue to be a great influence on me. Thank you for the great work you do and the huge impact you make in young people’s lives as a teacher.

Your dedication and patience is truly remarkable. I want you to know that you’re such an amazing teacher. She/He showed huge improvement in her/his academic lessons in your class. Thank you very much.

I know your job is stressful and the hours are long, but you are always kind and understanding. I am grateful to have been taught by such an admirable person.

School year has now come to an end. I’d to express my gratitude for your dedication and patience. You have given to my kid during her/his school year in your class.Thank you!

As students, many teachers and educators will pass through our lives without remembrance. Yet, a special few will leave a lasting impression. Thank you for being one of the special educators who will live on forever in the minds and hearts of the students whose lives you have touched.

My child has become a better person because of a wonderful person you. Thanks.

Do you want to send a thank you card for parents from teacher? As a teacher, you can express your appreciation for all the work parents do for the development of the school. Parent’s support is essential for children. This is the investment to their future. Teachers understand this and can always express their feelings by sending thank you cards.

A big thank you to you and your family for the beautiful gift basket you presented me with on Teacher Appreciation Day. I love every item in it (and especially the delicious-smelling citrus candle!), and when all those treats are gone, then I shall use the basket itself for keeping my knitting safe.

Thank you very much for your touching and beautifully written letter. It means a lot to me to know that you enjoy my classes. I also appreciate the personalized coffee mug you gave me. I drank my coffee from it this morning and it tasted extra good!

Thank you so much for the generous gift card. What a treat! You can be sure that I’ll have a fun time spending it over the holidays. Wishing you all the blessings of the season.

These Thank You Messages for Teachers are Special and Unique..

Thank you for Children Entrusted to ME

Teachers play a big role in shaping the minds of your children.

They inspire, motivate, and encourage students to think the box, to learn what’s right from wrong, to speak their minds, and to use what they learn in school to help change their lives and the lives of others.

Teachers also play the role of parents to the students that belong to their classrooms.

They get to spend a lot of time with them, so they are able to talk to them and know what’s on their minds.
