** Take Note

Cancer often brings with it other attacks on the body

such as –

  digestive problems, organ malfunction,

weakness, pain, mental fog, etc.

So I encourage you

to look back at the above prayer AND

ADD to the ** sentence that is in the prayer,

anything that

fits your situation.

Here is an example of an updated part of the prayer above:

**   “So I will say  –  By the stripes of Jesus, I am healed of

cancer, weakness, digestive problems, organ malfunction and

damage, pain and the root of the pain, and everything else that is

attacking my body!”

I will bless the Holy Name of God with all my heart.

Yes, I will bless the Lord and not forget the glorious things

he has done for me.

Psalm 103:1-2
The Living Bible

I praise you because you said in Exodus 15:26, “I am
theLord who heals you.”

“He heals me.”

I praise you because Exodus 23:25 says, “Servethe Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And HE willtake sickness away from the midst of you.”

I praise you because Proverbs 16:24 says, “Pleasantwords are a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.”

I praise you because Proverbs 17:22 says, “Amerry heart does good, a medicine.”

I praise you because Proverbs 3:7-8 says, “Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones.”

There is POWER

There is POWER

in the blood of Jesus!

The WORD of God

The NAME of Jesus

The BLOOD of Jesus

God gave us three weapons to add to prayer

to fight sickness, disease, malfunction, and

every other attack on our body.

They are:

The WORD of God

The NAME of Jesus

The BLOOD of Jesus

* At various times on this page, we have used the power of the WORD of God in prayer.

* We have also used the power of the NAME of Jesus

by using phrases “In Jesus' Name.”

For example, the blue prayer on this page ends with

“In Jesus' mighty name I pray, Amen”

* We have also used the blood of Jesus
when we talk of the power of the “stripes of Jesus.”

Below is a prayer that uses

all three of these.

It is written for

friends and loved ones

to pray.

Nevertheless, for those who have cancer,
I encourage you to adapt it to yourself.

God gives us power.

Isaiah 53:5 speaks of the coming Messiah and says:

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him;

In 1 Peter 2:21-24, Peter makes sure we understand that Isaiah 53 was speaking of Jesus:

For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us

an example, that ye should follow his steps:

Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness:

10 Powerful Healing Prayers for Cancer Patients

Prayer For Healing of Breast Cancer

April 10-14 is National Cancer Registrars Week. Are you taking care of or know any patients who are battling the big C?

Despite the advanced technology and modern treatment plans, we, as nurses, should still value the proven benefits of prayers in healing our patients. We should take care of their faith and spiritual health as much as we care for their physical and mental needs.

Here are some of the most powerful healing prayers for cancer you can share.

A Healing Petition

May God heal me, body and soul. May my pain cease, may my strength increase, may my fears be released, May blessings, love, and joy surround me. Amen.

Prayer for Easing Pain

Father, with you nothing is impossible. You are God of all flesh; we love you and we are confident that no situation is too hard for you. We come to you on behalf of this dear one seeking healing from cancer. God, Jesus Christ has fully paid the price by the stripes He took; we therefore are asking that the devourer gets off from this child of yours in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

Prayer for Healing

Father God, we humbly pray for all those who are fighting cancer. Give them the hope and courage they need each day. Comfort them in their pain and bless them with healing. Strengthen their family, friends, and caregivers. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer for Cancer Fighters

Heavenly Father, Give all cancer fighters comfort when they are in pain. Lay your healing hand on all and remove every cancer cell so that they may be healed! Amen

Prayer for Physicians and Nurses

Lord Jesus Christ, we call upon your blessed name and we pray for your merciful heart to surround these with love, strength, and courage and we ask Your hands to touch them with the power of healing.

May they be directed to the right treatment in Your blessed name as we ask You Lord to represent the physicians, nurses, and medical care aids and administer them in Your spirits. May every cancerous cell be cast out and replaced with good ones.

May every spot of this deadly cell be wiped out by Your powerful hands.

Prayer through St. Jude

God of healing mercy, in Jesus your Son you stretch out your hand in compassion, restoring the sinner, healing the sick, and lifting up those bowed down.

Embrace us now in your loving care, particularly those afflicted with cancer, for whom this intention is offered.

May the Spirit of Jesus bring us all health in soul and body, that with joy and thanksgiving we may praise you for your goodness, through the same Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

O great St. Peregrine, you have been called “The Mighty,” “The Wonder-Worker,” because of the numerous miracles which you have obtained from God for those who have had recourse to you.

For so many years you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys the very fibre of our being, and who had recourse to the source of all grace when the power of man could do no more. You were favoured with the vision of Jesus coming down from His Cross to heal your affliction. Ask of God and Our Lady, the cure of the sick whom we entrust to you.

(Pause here and silently recall the names of the sick for whom you are praying)

Aided in this way by your powerful intercession, we shall sing to God, now and for all eternity, a song of gratitude for His great goodness and mercy.
Amen.

Prayer through Saint Agatha

Oh St. Agatha, who withstood the unwelcome advances from unwanted suitors, and suffered pain and torture for her devotion to Our Lord, we celebrate your faith, dignity, and martyrdom.

Protect us against rape and other violations, guard us against breast cancer and other afflictions of women, and inspire us to overcome adversity. Oh St.

Agatha, virgin and martyr, mercifully grant that we who venerate your sacrifice, may receive your intercession. Amen.

Prayer for Strength

Lord, at the moment nothing seems to be able to help the loss I feel.
My heart is broken and my spirit mourns.
All I know is that Your grace is sufficient.

This day, this hour
Moment by moment
I choose to lean on You,
For when I am at my weakest Your strength is strongest.

I pour out my grief to You
And praise You that on one glorious day
When all suffering is extinguished and love has conquered
We shall walk together again.

A Simple Prayer for Healing

Lord of Heaven,
I rest underneath your mighty wings of love.
I dwell within your gentle heart.
I know there is healing in your touch.
Through the sufferings of Christ I can ask for restoration
And trust in your goodness.
You are my Lord, my Saviour,
My healer and my friend.
I dwell within your gentle embrace.
Amen.

No one can deny that the progress of the nursing profession here in the Philippines is on a downward trend. I’ve known this phenomenon ever since I have opened my eyes to the realities that surround our profession and I’m sick of it already.

And when I say “I’m sick of it”, you better keep your mouth shut and don’t ask me why. Just look around and you will know the answer right away. I saw it coming back then but I still took the risk anyway.

To this day, I can’t count how many times people have asked me this same 7-syllable question over and over again:

“Bakit ka ba nag-Nursing?”

It was asked by a co worker when I decided to file my resignation in a BPO company two months ago.

It was asked by my sister who also just graduated this year and earned a bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology, which she boasts to be more financially rewarding  than Nursing abroad.

It was asked by my high school classmates, friends, relatives, and virtually every people who knows I’m a registered nurse.

Kung puwede lang irecord ang sagot ko para di na ko mapagod kakaexplain sa kanila, ginawa ko na noon pa. But I have no choice but to tell them honestly that I took the nursing course because it was in demand back then and that no one had forced me to do so. It is a typical answer that doesn’t make any sense as far as the present state of nursing employment is concerned.

I remember when I shifted  from Biology to Nursing way back in 2006, I was bombarded with ideas  “Hindi ka yayaman sa pagdodoktor”  , “Mag-nursing ka na lang” , and all that kind of ‘practical suggestions’, so to speak.

I eventually took up Nursing, survived the grueling studies coupled with rigorous clinical duties, and graduated early this year.

I have discovered two things almost 5 years after I decided to take up nursing: One, I’m glad that I didn’t  take up Medicine because I fell in love with Nursing in the process and lastly, the idea that Nursing would lead to greener pasture was a trap and an eye-opener at the same time.

It’s as if a reversal of nature is happening and the same people who gave me the aforementioned ‘practical suggestions’ are now telling me that  “Hindi ka yayaman kung magnunursing ka lang”, “Magdoktor ka na lang”  and all that kind of crappy stuff.

Sometimes, I feel bad for earning the Nursing degree at the wrong place and at the wrong time. I envy those nurses from the early generations  who got a lot of opportunities for them and I wonder if they are even aware that the words “volunteer” and “contractual” now represent the current batch of Filipino nurses.

 “Bakit nga ba ako nag-Nursing?”

I can’t even think of a single best answer to satisfy this question but ironically, I can think of a lot of reasons (can even reach thousands!!haha) why I should quit NOW and pursue other rewarding career. How to quit Nursing in one day? Very simple: Always be pessimistic and know the following reasons by heart:

1. It’s tough to be a USRN. We all want to work in the US if given the chance.

American nurses, they say, are one of the most financially blessed nurses nowadays but how the heck can someone me become a USRN if the US is closing its doors for foreign applicants and even struggling to provide jobs for its own American nurses? I heard that they are now processing Visa applications from way back 2005 but this is more of a discouraging news for someone me who doesn’t even have a financial capability to take NCLEX and pay for all the requirements not just for US and for other countries as well. Kung puwede lang na mag-asawa ako ng Kano..kahit girl, boy, bakla, or tomboy man  yan, papatusin ko na maging US citizen lang ako….

2. It’s tough to be a USRN but its even tougher to be accepted as a nurse in the Philippines. They always say every nurse should start from scratch and struggle to move upward.

But how on earth can I start my career if I’m competing with thousands of nursing graduates for a hospital position that doesn’t even guarantee a long-term employment? Ma-hire ka man, utang na loob mo pa sa hospital na may experience ka pero wala namang bayad.

In addition to that, there will always be these so-called “backer system” and expensive training requirements to stand in my way. It’s quite frustrating that the government is n0t able to regulate nursing schools during those times when nurses spread out   gremlins, increasing it’s numbers over the years.

And what do I do now? Taking endless search and endless training that will just lead me to an endless waiting time.  Kung meron lang sanang magic potion na puwede kong ilagay sa resume ko para iprioritize agad ng mga hospitals application ko….

3. It’s tough to be accepted as a nurse in our country but its tougher to stay working in the hospital. Nurses have a lot of issues why they quit working in the hospital. They are burned out, unpaid or underpaid, exploited, neglected, abused , and degraded by the hospital management.

The dismal condition of nursing employment and the unfair nurse-patient ratio are  pests that will keep on recurring unless properly addressed. Nursing is a tough job so we can’t stay doing charity works for the rest of our lives.

I’m tired of hearing cliche “I want to be a nurse because I want to save lives” because there a lot of jobs out there that will allow you to save lives without even becoming a nurse. Admit it, we all want to be a nurse because we want better lives for our families one way or another.

And nurses didn’t spend thousands of pesos for their nursing studies para lang magtrabaho dito at kumita ng halagang mas malaki pa sweldo ng katulong.  Kung puwede lang na mabuhay uli si Florence Nightingale at maging presidente ng Pilipinas…..

4. It’s tough to be a nurse, period. I remember during the last day of my IVT Training at a Marikina hospital, the Director of Nursing shared how, at one point in her 20 years of professional life, she almost gave up and think of quitting Nursing for good.

I was taken aback by her story and felt the hardships and trials she has faced during the span of her career. “Napakahirap maging nurse..tandaan nyo yan!” was her rant that has kept me thinking hard if my decision of quitting a high-paying job to go back to Nursing is the best decision for me.

But look at her now and how her life turned out. She has climbed her way to the top and have realized that she has survived those tormenting days at the Pediatric Ward not because she had no choice but because her love for her profession is insurmountable.

Kung puwede lang na lakas ng loob, sipag at diskarte na lang ang labanan sa Nursing, eh di sana marami na ring umasenso tulad ko…..

Again, one can quit nursing and decide to leave it for good in just one day. How? By just allowing oneself to get discouraged easily by those reasons above.

I, at one point in my life, hated Nursing and almost quit. But in the long run, I have realized that not every one can be a nurse and I couldn’t see myself doing other jobs in the future. I love caring people and I want to grow professionally even if the promise of working abroad is bleak for now.

Are these reasons enough to make me a genuine nurse? I don’t have any idea. I just love what I’m doing and I know that Nursing is not all about money and benefits in the first place. It’s about being human and following what your heart wants you to do. I have a lot of what if’s and doubts about the future.

Can a weakling me have the courage and skills to withstand the rocky road of the nursing profession? I can’t answer it myself.

The future might be gloomy for now but at the end of the day, it’s not who I was in the past but who I choose to be for the rest of my life that will matter significantly.

I have the choice to quit Nursing in one day but I choose to love Nursing and it’s one decision that will stay unbreakable for the rest of my life.

Update: I wrote this post a few years ago with so much passion that would make you think I was destined to conquer it all. However, times have changed.

I’m already not actively using my Nursing license but thanks to my medical background, I’ve been able to establish a career in health/medical copywriting. I don’t consider myself a failure, though.

This is just me trying to figure out what life I can have beyond the four corners of the hospital.

7 Miraculous Stories About the Power of Healing Prayers

Prayer For Healing of Breast Cancer

Courtesy McBride SOMOS Consulting

When I was 35, I would get tired all the time. Whenever it happened, I would wait for the feeling to pass, even if that meant I had to pull over while I was driving and take a quick nap. During a routine checkup, I told the doctor I struggled with exhaustion.

She checked my heart and blood pressure, discovering I had a low heart rate. She sent me for an EKG and they immediately sent me to the hospital. During the 72-hour monitoring period, I had to lay down 14 times, because I was fatigued.

I was diagnosed with a slow heartbeat.

All I could do was pray and hope that when I had my appointment a few weeks later with a top heart specialist, my report would have good news. I shared the story with my church and we all prayed. This was a year after my sister had to get open heart surgery and I cried a lot thinking that I would have to go through the same thing my sister did.

When the day came for my appointment with the specialist, he said, “With all of these symptoms you will need a pacemaker, but you are very young and I want to see you again in a year.”

Two months later I was no longer feeling symptoms. My heart rate is steady and I don’t get tired anymore. My checkup confirmed that my heart rate was normal and I didn’t need a pacemaker, after all. I have never had heart issues again. – Yamile McBride, 41, Educator, North Carolina

When I was three-months-old, I developed spinal meningitis. I was given my last rites and was told I would not make it through the night. The prayer chain went out that night and my parents, who maintain a strong Catholic faith, never left my side. The morning came and the doctors we amazed by my progress.

Even though I survived, my parents were told that it would be a long time to see what the prognosis may be for my quality of life. I was never supposed to talk or walk, and potentially have mental impairment.

My parents and family kept their faith and by the “will of God,” I survived and thrived throughout my childhood and into adulthood with minimal sicknesses.

Fast forward to five years ago. At the age of 34, I was diagnosed with stage two breast cancer. I am the first in my family to ever experience breast cancer. Once again, the prayer chain went out. I went through many treatments and was able to stay cancer free for four years.

Then, this past spring of 2017, I was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer that metastasized to my lungs. It was one of the hardest times of my life.

However, with my team of doctors and the amazing support of my family, friends, and faith, my cancer is shrinking and accepting my treatments.

I had been taking my then three-year-old daughter Emily Grace to the doctor and even a specialist because I suspected something wasn’t right, but her blood work kept coming back fine. Finally, one night she was breathing so abnormally, that I brought her to the emergency room. I thought she had pneumonia. But the ER doctor knew something was really wrong.

The doctors weren’t sure how she was still breathing. I told them it must be a sign God wasn’t going to take her. I was later told had I not gone to the emergency room she would have died in her sleep that night.

We soon learned she had high-risk stage four cancer. We were in the hospital 78 days straight, she had a chest tube for weeks and kept getting infections.

I prayed for her I have never prayed before. She was on every prayer list you could imagine. I was told over and over again, “God only gives you what you can handle.

” Although it was meant to be supportive, I found it to feel a hurtful phrase, as if because of my strength my daughter was victimized by cancer.

As an alternative, a friend told me, “God gives you what you can’t handle so you have to rely on Him.”

My daughter is now a thriving 11-year-old. I call her my “miracle kid” because that’s what she is. —Tara Geraghty, 40, Mary Kay business owner and creator of Cancer is Fun, New Jersey

When she was 76, my mom suffered a severe stroke that paralyzed her entire right side. Immediately after the stroke, I gave Mom a card with an angel on it that said “miracles.

” I taped this card to her wall so she could see it from her hospital bed. My mom was raised Catholic and prayed daily, so I knew she would appreciate it. She believed everyone has a guardian angel that watches over and protects them.

Despite her physical losses, my mom thanked God every day she was alive.

Every night before she went to sleep, she prayed and rubbed her right thumb and hand with her left hand believing it would bring back the circulation and move again. After four months, her thumb moved.

I asked her to show me and she did. She moved her thumb up and down. Being a witness to this miracle gave me a deeper connection to God and the angels.

Despite being in good shape, I was constantly feeling fatigued and foggy. It took years of doctor’s visits to discover I had Lyme disease. I tried many frustrating treatments with tough side effects.

As I administered my own antibiotics each day, I began to spiral downward. I developed a severe intestinal infection, strong headaches, and paralyzing depression.

I felt a walking zombie and began to feel detached from the world.

I’m a musician, and one night during a performance I almost passed out on stage for no apparent reason, and I instinctively felt the need to get off of all antibiotics.

I continued to do research online and during my travels, I stumbled upon a video featuring a healer from Brazil named John of God on an episode of Oprah.

I was drawn to the fact that thousands of people traveled to meet this man who healed them through energy, love, and faith. I was intrigued enough to book the 10-hour plane flight and take the pilgrimage.

On the day I arrived, two counselors sat down with me to find out why I had made the journey and to translate my healing intention to John of God, who only speaks Portuguese. We all went before him silently, while a few hundred people meditated in nearby benches that reminded me of church pews.

As I touched his hand, he told me I needed “spiritual surgery.” I was told to return in the afternoon. When I did, I met a few dozen others also seeking healing in a private meditation room where we were asked to meditate and keep our eyes closed.

After sitting in silence for about 15 minutes, we could hear John of God enter the room and offer a blessing in a booming voice. I felt electrical sensations all over my body. When the session ended, I went back to the hotel and was instructed to immediately go to bed even though it was in the early afternoon.

I laid there with my eyes wide open and wondered how I would be able to sleep. Next thing I knew, I woke up 16 hours later, feeling as if I had been hit by a truck.

I went through this experience again later in the week and one day, I looked in the mirror in my bathroom and burst into laughter. The face that stared back at me looked 10 years younger.

I grabbed my phone to video chat with my wife and the first thing she said to me was, “What happened? You look different!” I choked back tears and said, “I’m healed!” All of this had occurred through the energy John of God had brought forth but it was held in place by my faith and positive thinking.” —Gregg Kirk, founder of Ticked Off Foundation

One day in my early 30s I woke up with a heartbeat that wasn’t normal. Throughout that day, I was breath and felt tired, but I couldn’t go to sleep because my heart was beating funny. Finally, at the urging of my mother who works as a nurse, I went to the emergency room.

There I was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation, the most common form of an arrhythmia, a problem with the rate or rhythm of the heartbeat. Laying in that hospital bed and knowing that I was that close to dying, I decided to change my life.

After that incident, I started taking the stairs more, eating healthier, and I removed or limited the toxic people in my life. Most importantly, I found a church home.

I prayed not only for others but for myself. I called on God to heal my body.

I could manage the exercise and healthy eating and while I was faithful at taking my medication, I didn’t want to be reliant on pills for the rest of my life.

I decided that I would have an ablation, a procedure that was supposed to stop the irregular heart rhythm. Before the procedure, my doctor told me to stop taking the medicine.

He wanted my heart to go into start beating irregularly, so they would know exactly where the problem was and fix it. I told the members of the church that I was going to go through with the procedure and they prayed for me.

When the procedure was over, groggy from the anesthesia, I asked my mom if it was successful. She said that they didn’t do it!

During the procedure, my doctor tried for an hour to get my heart to go into aFib, but it never did. And to this day, it hasn’t done it again. —Jackie Williams, 38, medical secretary, Florida

In 2013 I had a miscarriage. When I was pregnant the doctor saw a low thyroid and put me on medication. I didn’t think my thyroid was an issue in my infertility but later, in an aha moment, realized it played more of a role than I previously thought. I started to experience major brain fog and a general exhaustion.

Through prayer and counsel with close family and friends, I began to feel led to get my thyroid checked out. I went to my doctor who confirmed the problem. I began taking a different thyroid medication than I’d previously tried and started to see other doctors including a holistic one.

I persistently prayed for healing of my thyroid. Before every appointment, I asked friends to pray too. Over and over I went up for prayer at church. Little by little, I improved. Nothing drastic happened until I received an email from my doctor.

It said, “Dear Gina, after reviewing the last three blood draws, I am happy to report that there is a significant improvement.”

I have been on a journey of personal healing of infertility. Through this journey, I have been given the great honor of adopting my daughter, Camila. My life has been deeply impacted by this miracle.

Even though my specific infertility healing hasn’t happened yet, I am blessed, have more faith, and have grown closer to God. I’ve learned God does not cause sickness or infirmity. What God does is redeem things and we are left off better than how we started.

We just have to look for the miracles in all things and we can find them. They are everywhere. —Gina Guercia, 41, celebrity hairstylist, New York City
