Prayer Of Forgiveness For Abusive Parents

20 Powerful Prayers for Forgiveness [Bible Verses + Prayers]

Prayer Of Forgiveness For Abusive Parents

We should not be satisfied merely to keep the commandments of God, but should always be ready to do good deeds, even when others do not command them. The commandments of God state the minimum requirements for salvation.

They should be kept not merely according to the scripture, but also according to the spirit, which obliges us to strive for greater perfection. We are sinful from birth, but God’s great love can save us if we allow Him to live within our hearts.

Have you asked God for forgiveness of all of your transgressions? If the answer is no, He is anxiously waiting for you. Listen, and allow Him to lead.

If the need for prayer is what you are seeking most, may it be asking for forgiveness or guidance, whether in your own life, or in the life of someone you love, let us pray for you at the holiest place on earth, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.

We have faith that sending your prayer to the place where our Lord Jesus Christ gave his life for us will help your request be granted! It is our honor and privilege to be a prayer warrior for you, and to ask the Lord to watch over you, protect you, and keep you, always.

Please submit your prayer request today.

“But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.” Matthew 5:44-45

Prayer for Forgiveness of Others

Father, I need your help and your insights. Today I have gained a better understanding of forgiving others and with your help, I fully forgive from my heart. Although I have been sinned against, I know I myself have sinned against others.

I pray all of this in Jesus' precious name and by whom all forgiveness and healing was made possible.

I am truly sorry for the wrong that I have done, and the hurt that I have caused to You as well as my family. If there is any sin that I don’t know of, please bring it to my mind that I may repent as well.

Please forgive me Lord of any pride, rebellion, vanity, jealousy, judging, distrust, prejudice, dishonesty, theft, greed, spiritual adultery or fornication, or any spiritual murder. I ask this in Your precious name, amen.

I need You, my precious Lord, to help get back on the right path and to stay away from this destructive life that I feel I am leading. I know I am the only one to blame for my actions.

But I know if You will give me the courage, strength, and will to walk away, I can make it through with my eyes on You.

Prayer for God’s Hand and Guidance In a Sin-Ridden Life

Lord, you promised that when I seek You with all our heart, I will find You. I seek only after You. I ask that you still my troubled heart, calm my wayward mind, as I seek only after You.

I'm never going to be able to figure this out on my own, and right now I'm leaning heavily on You. I give you all the anxieties and fears I feel inside, and I release them all to You. I know You will grant forgiveness of my sins.

I ask that you please so, as I am truly sorry for the wrong I’ve done in my life. I open up my life so that it becomes an open book before You.

Amen

9 Powerful Catholic Prayers Asking for Forgiveness

Prayer Of Forgiveness For Abusive Parents

As sinners, there are many things that we need to seek forgiveness for. Whether it is a trespass on our fellow man or a violation of the Lord’s commands, these Catholic prayers asking for forgiveness will encourage you to get your heart back in the right place and seek a path of redemption and righteousness.

Prayer #1

Lord Jesus, for too long I’ve kept you my life. I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. No longer will I close the door when I hear you knocking. By faith I gratefully receive your gift of salvation. I am ready to trust you as my Lord and Savior.

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for coming to earth. I believe you are the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank you for bearing my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. I believe your words are true.

Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be my Savior. Amen.

Prayer #2

Dear Merciful Lord,
Thank you for your gift of forgiveness. Your only Son loved me enough to come to earth and experience the worst pain imaginable so I could be forgiven.

Your mercy flows to me in spite of my faults and failures. Your Word says to “clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.” (Col.

3:14) Help me demonstrate unconditional love today, even to those who hurt me.

I understand that even though I feel scared, my emotions don’t have to control my actions. Father, may Your sweet words saturate my mind and direct my thoughts.

Help me release the hurt and begin to love as Jesus loves. I want to see my offender through my Savior’s eyes. If I can be forgiven, so can he. I understand there are no levels to your love.

We are all your children, and your desire is that none of us should perish.

You teach us to “let the peace that comes from Christ rule in our hearts.” (Col. 3:15) When I forgive in words, allow your Holy Spirit to fill my heart with peace. I pray this peace that only comes from Jesus will rule in my heart, keeping out doubt and questions. And above all, I am thankful.

Not just today, not just this week, but always. Thank you for the reminder, “Always be thankful.” (Col. 3:15) With gratitude, I can draw closer to you and let go of unforgiveness. With gratitude, I can see the person who caused my pain as a child of the Most High God. Loved and accepted.

Help me find the compassion that comes with true forgiveness.

And when I see the person who hurt me, bring this prayer back to my remembrance, so I can take any ungodly thoughts captive and make them obedient to Christ. (2 Cor. 10:5) And may the confidence of Christ in my heart guide me into the freedom of forgiveness. I praise you for the work you are doing in my life, teaching and perfecting my faith. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer #3

Loving Father, hear my prayer as I am now experiencing deep hurts, anger, resentments and bitterness in my heart.

Thank you for the grace you have given me to humbly acknowledge my pain. Touch all the areas of woundedness in my heart and fill it with your love and peace. Change my aching and broken heart with a new heart coming from your Sacred Heart. Because it is only through this that I will receive the grace to forgive even if it is the hardest thing for me to do.

Let me give all this pain and deep hurts to you as an offering of love and give me the grace to see all the blessings that have come from this experience of pain and suffering.

Grant me the virtue of humility to acknowledge my own mistakes
and failures and desire to ask for forgiveness in the future. Only by your grace, your strength and your love can true forgiveness and reconciliation happen.

But I believe that nothing is impossible with you so long as the desire to forgive is there in my heart and people will continue to persevere in prayer for me. Bless me and plant in my heart this desire to forgive and lead me on with patience and perseverance in my healing journey. I believe that in time, true forgiveness will happen.

All these I pray in Jesus’ name through Mary and all the angels and saints. Amen.

Prayer #4

Dear Lord, I thank You for the power of forgiveness, and I choose to forgive everyone who has hurt me. Help me set [name anyone who has offended you] free and release them to You [Romans 12:19].

Help me bless those who have hurt me [Romans 12:14]. Help me walk in righteousness, peace, and joy, demonstrating Your life here on earth.

I choose to be kind and compassionate, forgiving others, just as You forgave me [Ephesians 4:32]. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer #5

Father, today I ask forgiveness of all the negative and harmful words I have spoken about myself. I do not want to abuse myself in such a way again. Transform my thoughts and let me understand how marvelously you made me. Change my habits so I use my tongue to speak hope and favor upon my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Prayer #6

Heavenly father, through the obedience of Jesus, Who offered His Life in the service of all, help me with Your Kindness. Make me strong through the Eucharist. May I put into action the saving Mystery I celebrate in the Mass. Protect me with Your Love and prepare me for eternal happiness.

Prayer #7

Happy those whose offence is forgiven, whose sin is remitted. O happy those to whom the Lord imputes no guilt, in whose spirit is no guile. I kept it secret and my frame was wasted. I groaned all day long, for night and day your hand was heavy upon me. Indeed my strength was dried up as by the summer’s heat.

But now I have acknowledged my sins; my guilt I did not hide, I said: “I will confess my offence to the Lord.” And you, Lord, have forgiven the guilt of my sin. So let faithful men and women pray to you in the time of need. The floods of water may reach high but they shall stand secure. You are my hiding place, O Lord; you save me from distress.

Rejoice, rejoice in the lord, exult, you just! O come, ring out your joy. all you upright of heart.

Prayer #8

O Lord, Jesus Christ, Redeemer and Saviour, forgive my sins, just as You forgave Peter’s denial and those who crucified You. Count not my transgressions, but, rather, my tears of repentance.

Remember not my iniquities, but, more especially, my sorrow for the offenses I have committed against You. I long to be true to Your Word, and pray that You will love me and come to make Your dwelling place within me.

I promise to give You praise and glory in love and in service all the days of my life.

Prayer #9

Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again.

I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward.

Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Prayer: The Way to Forgiveness

Prayer Of Forgiveness For Abusive Parents

It is amazing how many opportunities of forgiveness are available to you on daily bases through Prayers.

It is noticeable that the ways of forgiveness are so many and diverse in terms of their types and times. In other words, if you are really interested in living a constantly clean life –if you wish to have the stains of sins removed from your records promptly-, the task is easy. The ways to achieve that are numerous.

Before moving further to discuss more means to get Allah’s forgiveness, one point needs to be emphasized here.

Although the ways to Allah’s forgiveness are paved and the access to it is made easy, many of us fail to take advantage of them.

That is a symptom of the ghaflah (heedlessness) ailment which turns the human being into an aimless machine that only cares about the joys of the world and neglects the true, everlasting life.

So, no matter how easy to get the blessing of forgiveness, without taking the matter seriously and paying heed to the importance of being forgiven; without realizing the dangerous threat of sins and, thus, working diligently to get rid of them, you will most ly lose those forgiveness opportunities. In such a case you need to be alarmed because you might be not sufficiently qualified to be pardoned.

Prayers: Packages of forgiveness

It is amazing how many opportunities of forgiveness are available to you on daily bases through Prayers. At every stage of prayer, there is a chance of forgiveness: wudu’ (ablution), walking to the mosque, praying and repeating the After-prayer adhakr (Allah’s remembrance)

Wudu’: Washing up Body and Soul

`Abdullah As-Sunabihi reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:

“When the believing servant performs Wudu’ and rinses his mouth, his sins come out from his mouth. When he sniffs water into his nose and blows it out, his sins come out from his nose. When he washes his face, his sins come out from his face, even from beneath his eyelashes.

When he washes his hands, his sins come out from his hands, even from beneath his fingernails. When he wipes his head, his sins come out from his head, even from his ears. When washes his feet, his sins come from his feet, even from beneath his toenails.

Then his walking to the Masjid and his Salah will earn extra merit for him.” (An-Nasa’i)

Walking to the Masjid: Steps to Forgiveness

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet said:”When one of you performs ablution and does it well, then he comes to the mosque for no other purpose than prayer, he does not take one step but Allah raises him in status one degree thereby, and takes away one of his sins, until he enters the mosque. When he enters the mosque he is in a state of prayer so long as he is waiting for the prayer.'” (Ibn Majah)

Prayers: Guaranteed Purification

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him)said: “Do you think that if there was a river by the door of any one of you, and he bathed in it five times each day, would there be any trace of dirt left on him?” They said: “No trace of dirt would be left on him.” The Prophet commented: “That is the ness of the five daily prayers. By means of them, Allah erases sins.” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

After-Salah Dhikr: Endless Opportunities

Abu Hurairah reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: He who repeats after every prayer: Subhana Allah (Allah is free from imperfection) thirty-three times, Al-hamdu lillah (praise be to Allah) thirty-three times, Allahu Akbar (Allah is Greatest) thirty-three times; and completes the hundred with: La ilaha illallahu, wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu, wa Huwa `ala kulli shai’in qadir (There is no true god except Allah. He is One and He has no partner. His is the sovereignty and His is the praise, and He is Omnipotent) will have all his sins pardoned even if they may be as large as the foam on the surface of the sea. (Muslim)

An Open Door for Forgiveness

To maximize your prayer’s power, you need to perform it in the best possible way.

Zaid ibn Khalid Al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah said: “He who performs wudu’ well, and then offers two rak`ahs of prayers during which (he is so attentive that) he does not forget (anything in it), will be forgiven all his past sins.” (Abu Dawud)

Finally, to gain the above reward, we need to focus on the quality of our prayers and the acts of worship preceding/succeeding it. To remove a difficult stain, you need a powerful and effective detergent.

To maximize your prayer’s power, you need to perform it in the best possible way in terms of concentration, humbleness and sincerity.

Paying due attention to that will gain you continuous cleanliness throughout your life in sha’ Allah.
