Prayer For Protection Against My Enemies
Prayer for protection against enemies
There is power in prayer. We do live in the world where we can’t see everything that is going in our lives and the lives of others. The spiritual realm has battles going on that we are not aware of.
Many of us couldn’t handle seeing this even if we have that gift. We need to use what we against the enemy and all enemies. Remember the prayer of Jabaz? “Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.”
Prayer binds Satan and can pierce darkness along with using our faith. Jesus Christ took the enemy and destroyed him at Calvary—meaning we have the power through prayer to fight and prayer for protection.
“I will give you the keys of the kingdom. Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy–nothing will harm you.”
God will keep you from harm. He is our rock and fortress from our enemies.
Pray scriptures over your life and for others. You will find them after each prayer.
“My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge, my savior; you save me from violence. I call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies (2 Samuel 22:3-4).”
Here are prayers you can use against your enemies and key scriptures to also help you:
“I come against all darkness, hate, uneasiness with the power of God’s word. I stand on the authority of Jesus Christ his victory of you at Calvary. You will not defeat me for I am in Christ and I am protected. I claim favor over the darkness used by people or in the spirit world.”
Scripture: A reminder for you in the Psalms to help you: “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.”
“I bind all negative powers and influences today. You have no authority over me or the household. I speak confusion into Satan’s assignments.”
Scripture: Isaiah 54:17: No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD and their vindication from me, declares the LORD.”
“Forgive me and clean me Jesus Christ. I command all demons must cease in the Name of Jesus! I pray a covering over the church, the community, the world, and my family.”
Scripture: 2 Timothy 4:18: “The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed and bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever.”
“I come against all those spirits trying to confuse me and hurt my mind or body. I am a child of the highest God. I have the garment of praise today. Nothing can hurt me. My boss, people, creditors, the spirit of intimidation or the spirit of fear can’t harm me. I am more than a victor in Jesus. I rebuke these distractions and walk in the love of Christ.”
Scripture: Psalm 121:7-8: “The LORD will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.”
The prayer of David is another prayer you can use for protection against enemies. “To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul. O my God, in you I trust, let me not be put to shame; let not my enemies triumph over me.”
“Father, I pray for protection at night and during the day. Lead me to righteousness, and strengthen me.”
Scripture: In 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 we read that we don’t have to be crushed despite being persecuted. Persecution is not just from people, but from the devil. “We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.”

Why We Need Prayer for Protection?
A short prayer for protection can be used in many circumstances for protection against evil, harm, enemies, for travel mercies, natural disasters, health and medical situations, child births, and spiritual warfare just to name a few. They can also take the form of physical protection as well as emotional and spiritual.
At the start I mentioned that a prayer of protection is often over-looked by Christians, especially newborn Christians who are just beginning to explore their faith. So if this describes you, let me first share how much God loves you and wants a very close relationship with you.
A prayer of protection can be used for yourself or others
Obviously being the God that stitched you together in your Mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13). He knows you far better than anyone, but He wants more than a just physical knowledge of your existence. He wants you to freely share all of your life with Him, He wants you to ask him for your hearts desires, to share your needs and concerns with Him, to rely and trust in Him for all things.A short prayer of protection can be used for yourself or others, often people pray for family and friends when they travel long distances, have medical conditions, are involved in an accident, natural disaster or other tragedy. You can (and should) even pray for your country, it’s military and their leaders for protection.
Always remember, use a short prayer for protection at any time, and if you feel an instinct or small voice inside telling you to pray… then stop what you are doing and pray. The Holy Spirit of God exists within you to guide you and help in times of trouble. Listen to the spirit and pray. Never stop praying.

Prayer for Protection from Enemies
We do not know much about King David prior to being anointed King. He had been an ordinary shepherd. Key events in his life up until that point would have been the slaying of a giant and perhaps lions and bears.
All of these were positions that he had control over. He could have let a lion or bear take his father’s sheep. There was no reason for him to get involved with fighting a giant.
Prayer for protection from enemies became a necessity once his destiny was activated.
Being anointed is dangerous. Those who would not have known about what God has placed in you begin to see it in you. Destiny demands a struggle. This is why King Saul who should have adored this boy who had stood up to the giant began to hurl spears at him. Your anointing will intimidate those whose attention you would have never gotten. Raise Prayer for protection from enemies.
None of this is reason enough to not walk in the purpose that the Lord has set out for you. He did not bring you this far to see you fail.
Joseph was another example. The Bible tells us that when his brothers heard about his dream, they hated him even MORE. His coat of many colours was symbolic of his anointing. It earmarked him as being different from the rest. He was set apart in ways that his brothers were unable to make sense of.
His dreams are a manifestation of his anointing. This is what aroused enmity in them. Your greatness will not sit well with everyone. Even those who have supported you at your lowest may become intimidated as you rise. People want to see you succeed as long as you remain beneath them.
His own father was somewhat taken aback by his dreams as well. People will no see what is in you, do not let that be a reason to stop running towards it. The only one you need on this journey is God.
Philippians 1:6 King James Version (KJV)
6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
The scripture above says it all. No matter what is chasing you, or trying to derail your mission. God has the mandate to complete what he has started in you. It is in his nature to finish what he starts. You can rest assured of that. The enemy is always lurking, waiting for your most vulnerable moment. This is when he looks to strike.
Psalm 27:1 King James Version (KJV)
27 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
- You are not alone in this walk.
- The Lord is the strength of your life.
- There is no one of whom you should be afraid!
You will not die prematurely
1 O LORD, I have come to you for protection; don’t let me be disgraced. Save me, for you do what is right. 2 Turn your ear to listen to me; rescue me quickly. Be my rock of protection, a fortress where I will be safe.
3 You are my rock and my fortress. For the honor of your name, lead me this danger. 4 Pull me from the trap my enemies set for me, for I find protection in you alone. 5 I entrust my spirit into your hand.
Rescue me, LORD, for you are a faithful God.
Dear Heavenly Father, I stand in the truth, that, I am here for a purpose. It is not by mere chance that I am on this planet. What you have placed in me will not be terminated! Lord protect me. That I would not see disgrace, and your name would not be put to disrepute.
Thank you for your swiftness in coming to my rescue when I call on you. You are my deliverer. The fortress in whom I am made safe. May your name be honoured as you lead me away from danger.
Besides you, I have no one else to protect me. My spirit is in your hand. You are the one who gave it to me to start with. You can take it, and you alone can preserve me. Preserve me, my God. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
When your enemies surround you
Psalm 27: 3
Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident.
4 The one thing I ask of the LORD — the thing I seek most— is to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, delighting in the LORD ’s perfections and meditating in his Temple.
5 For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me reach on a high rock.
Raise a standard against my enemies
Isaiah 59:19 King James Version (KJV)
19 So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.
Your enemies will seek to take you by surprise. At those moments in which your guard is down. This is when they look to strike. Yet, your God is not one to sleep or slumber. Just as he watches over the sparrow, he watches over you as well. There is a seed in you which God wants to see birthed!
A Prayer to Pray for Your Enemies
I have a confession. On more than one occasion I’ve been petty. I wish I could say this behavior is relegated solely to my my teenage years, but ashamedly, it has crept into adulthood.
Intentionally and without even thinking, I’ve examined situations from my restricted viewpoint and consequently labeled other women as enemies. Of course, I have never actually said these words out loud, but I thought them.
I’ve formed assumptions about their actions and believed them to be true. Knowing this about myself, I know I need to pray for my enemies.
But more importantly, I need to ask myself, who is my enemy? Who is my true enemy? When I stop to consider this, I know how to better direct my prayers toward the ultimate enemy of my life.
Why We Label Other Women as Our Enemies
If she didn’t call me back I assumed she wasn’t my friend. If she appeared to snub me at an event I reasoned she was two-faced. And if she didn’t invite me to her gathering, I assumed we weren’t friends anymore.
This is not to say it’s all been presumption. Some of these experiences weren’t just fabrications of my mind; they were real. I’ve been on the receiving end of gossip, slander, snobbiness, and shade. And it would seem that the women who treated me this way belonged in the enemy category. Their actions were unkind, undeserved, and unwanted. They were the proverbial mean girl: the women we all love to hate.
Thus, I should be justified in deeming them enemies. Although rational, what I’ve come to realize is that another woman’s behavior, whether real or imagined, does not make her my enemy. She is actually just a smokescreen for my true adversary.
Who Is Our True Enemy?
He is the one we don’t often talk about; but he exists. We live in a practical-teaching-megachurch-age, where words demonic have almost been omitted from the vocabulary of the average church goer. We look at the evil in our world and attribute it to moral decline, explicit music and inappropriate prime time television.
We do this while forgetting that Scripture reminds us who our enemy is. “Your enemy the devil prowls around a roaring lion looking for someone to devour” 1 Peter 5:8 (NIV). We are not only informed of his existence but we are told definitively how he attacks.
In John 8:44 we read “…He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.”
Many of us find it easier to acknowledge the existence of an omniscient God without embracing the reality of a diabolical enemy. When we do acknowledge the Satan’s presence, it is often tainted by Hollywood’s interpretation: teetering between extremes.
Either he’s the man in a red catsuit with horns perched on the shoulder of an indecisive actor, or he’s a quick witted superhero fighting crime in an Italian suit.
Neither persona is accurate, duping us into believing Lucifer is predictable, likable, and not that bad.
God’s Word however, reminds us that we are in a spiritual battle.
Ephesians 6:12 tells us, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Satan is described as a deceiver, a hunter and a killer whose sole purpose is to annihilate his prey, us. And he will stop at nothing to accomplish this task.
Which explains why we are so easily bamboozled into thinking another woman is our enemy: that is the devil at work. If given the opportunity, he has the power to impact every area of our lives: that childhood hurt, lingering habits, dangerous temptations, weight loss (or the lack of it), hang-ups, a sweet tooth, jobs, children, marriage and most certainly, female relationships.
Seeing the Enemy Clearly
Because of this reality a prayer for our enemies should actually be a prayer for ourselves that we might see clearly who our real enemy is.
This does not mean we completely dismiss the actions of those around us but we do so with the understanding that their behavior is heavily influenced by our formidable foe.
Consequently, this truth helps us to fight in a way that will make a difference: on our knees.
Help me to accept and acknowledge that Satan is my true enemy and not those around me. When I am wronged unjustly, help me to relinquish my right to hold another person responsible for the wrong they have caused me. Lord, may I remember the truth of your word in Psalms 135:14 that says you will vindicate me.
Even though I am tempted to repay evil for evil, please help me to choose to fight my battles on my knees: believing that my struggle is not with another human being but with the devil and my own flesh. Grow me in Christ- character and help me to become a woman who possess the fruit of the spirit.
May I become a woman who is mature, wise, and has a sound mind.

For this reason, she created The Father Swap Blog to be a source of encouragement, healing, and practical wisdom for women dealing with the effects of a physically or emotionally absent father.
Each week through practical and biblically sound teaching she encourages women to exchange father wounds for the love of God the Father. Download Kia's free ebook, Hope for the Woman With Father Wounds here. Additionally, you can connect with Kia on , Instagram, , and Pinterest.
