Prayer To Live For God In My Future Work

My Prayer for Today

Prayer To Live For God In My Future Work

When the alarm rings and your day is about to begin, take those few minutes of early consciousness to pray for yourself.

Often we leave prayer for desperate moments when we feel in over our heads. Sometimes we even hesitate praying for ourselves.

Yet this is what Matthew 7:7 calls us to: “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.”

Here is a guide for those moments before you slip bed. It’s easy to remember and it’s a way to invite God to be at work in your life. You will be amazed at the difference it makes.

Use your own words to talk to God as you ask Him to BLESS your body, labor, emotions, social life, and spiritual growth. Pray silently for yourself and one another. Then head to the shower knowing God has been invited into your day. Expect to see Him work.

BODY

Lord, thank You for my health. Thank You that You are my Healer. Strengthen me physically today in the specific area of _____. I ask for Your power to help me function. Bless me with an increased measure of health today.

Help me to feel it, acknowledge it, and thank You when I notice it. Give me wisdom to be disciplined in managing my body, in what I eat and how I exercise. Protect me as I go about my day. Thank You that You are a shield around me. Thank You for life.

Help me to embrace what I can do today in Your strength.

LABOR

Lord, thank You for the things I have to do today. Though some of them may not be what I choose, help me to focus on what is a good use of my time. You know where I work hard and where I slack off. Help me to pay attention to what is important, not just what is urgent.

Please multiply my efforts today and help me to be productive. Thank You that my weak points are the very entry points of Your strength. Fill me with Your Spirit. Help me to consciously do what is in front of me in Your name and in Your strength, giving thanks to You for Your presence with me.

Please help me today to do _____.

EMOTIONS

Lord, thank You that I don’t need to be dragged by my emotions. You know how easy it is to slip into negativity or anxiousness when things around feel shaky. Thank You that You have promised to be my Rock.

You give me a firm place to stand when I look to You for my stability. Help me to cultivate a grateful heart, to see even the smallest of Your blessings and let thanks arise within me.

Thank You that when I offer my praise and thanks to You, even in moments when it feels hard to do, You use it as a door to come in and work on my behalf. Help me not to allow other people’s emotions dictate how I feel. Give me Your peace today.

May I trust You with what robs me of that peace. I give You my concerns about _____ and thank You that You are at work on my behalf. I choose to be thankful today.

SOCIAL LIFE

Lord, thank You for my family and friends. Help me to be a blessing to them. Please lead me into purposeful friendships with others who seek You, too. Give me strength to distance myself from social situations that could draw me away from You. Fill my lonely places with Your presence.

Please guide me into social settings where I can bless others and bring Your love. Help me to limit social media so I have time for real face-to-face encounters. Show me the good in others that I may build up and encourage those around me.

? Lord, is there anything You would to say to me about any specific relationship today?

>SPIRITUAL GROWTH

Lord, thank You that You are with me. Help me to trust and depend on You today. It’s easy to lean on my own understanding. Help me to sense Your presence with me. Give me a stronger desire to read the Bible and to understand what You are saying to me.

Show me what I need to cleanse from my heart and life today. I ask Your forgiveness for _____. Give me a greater desire to take quiet moments to be aware of You in my day. Help me choose to interact with other believers and to keep Your word central in my life.

Grow my faith as I trust You to BLESS me as I arise now into my day.

In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

Why Does God Wait to Answer Prayer?

Prayer To Live For God In My Future Work

Why would God wait to answer our prayers?  Wouldn’t we expect that since God is all-powerful that He would answer immediately?  What is the purpose for God’s delaying our prayer requests?

Outside of God’s Will

One reason that God may not answer our prayers or that He waits is that we are asking for the wrong thing.  We may be asking for something that is not in God’s will for our lives and we might be asking for selfish reasons.

James, the half-brother of Jesus wrote, “When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures”(James 4:3).

For example, if we ask for money and we are not already giving to our local church or we have not been helping the poor, why should God give us more money so that we might spend it on ourselves?  Also, we might have the wrong motives in asking for something.

If we ask for a better job, the job that we think would be better may actually be worse than the job we have now.  God is sovereign and He knows what is best, and holds our best interests in mind for our future (Jer. 29:11).

In the  Lord’s Prayer, we are to ask that His will be done on earth just as it is in heaven (Matt 6:10).   We know that God’s will for believers is to grow in grace and knowledge, so we can ask for spiritual understanding of His Word just before we read the Bible.

There is confidence in praying when we know His will for out lives as it says in I John 5:14-15, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.”

We must remember to pray with faith.

Doubt

When we pray, we may have serious doubts about God’s ability or willingness to answer our prayer.

James 12:6-7 indicates that if we pray in doubt, God will not honor our requests saying, “But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.”  God may be waiting for us to pray in real faith, in expectation of receiving an answer, or to see if we are serious enough to continue to pray for it.

Sin Stops Prayer From Being Answered

God will not answer the prayer of a believer if they are in a state of perpetual, unrepentant sin (I Pet. 3:12). Psalm 66:18 is clear that “If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.

“ If we are obedient, He will hear our prayers (John 15:7) but if we are unforgiving, He will refuse our petitions before His altar (Matt. 18:35).

Matthew 5:24 is says that when we fail to forgive others, this is cause for a failed request for His help, “leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.”

Prayer is Answered in God’s Timing

God also expects us to wait patiently on His perfect timing (Psalm 66:18).  In Hebrews 10:36, “For you have need of patience, that, after you have done the will of God, you might receive the promise.

” The minor prophet, Habakkuk speaks for all of us when he grew impatient in waiting for God to answer his request in 1:2, “How long, LORD, must I call for help, but you do not listen?”  I can most certainly identify with Habakkuk in his sentiments.

Psalm 37 is a great Psalm to read when you are seeking the desires of your heart with the realization that it may take some time. Read these key verses from Psalm 37 on waiting:

7  “Rest before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not worry when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.“

25  “I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.”

34  “Wait for the LORD and keep his way. He will exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are cut off, you will see it.”

Sometimes the desires of our heart take time.  They do not happen overnight.  God is most often at work when He appears to be the most silent.

Even though Daniel had to wait three weeks before his prayer was answered, God had actually answered his prayer that very day that he prayed.

Don’t think that since God does not immediately reveal to you His answer, that He has not answered it  and has not answered it right away.

Daniel had his prayer answered the very same day of his request but it took three weeks for God’s sovereign timing for it to reach him – and it did at exactly the right time, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them”(10:12).

Stories of Waiting For Prayer To Be Answered

Don’t ever give up on praying.  God shows us that persistence pays off in Luke 18:1-8, “Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.  He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought.

And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’ “For some time he refused.

But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!’” And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says.

And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?  I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly.

However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”  The point of this parable is that if we continue steadfastly in prayer God will honor that persistence.  Never give up on praying because God may be waiting to see if it is important enough to us to continue in prayer, day and night, day after day.

I heard the story of a faithful mother who had been praying for 28 years for her son to come to faith in Christ.  Year after year her son was rebellious.  He abused drugs, was in and jail, and showed no signs of ever knowing Christ.

The days and years dragged on with absolutely no indication that there was anything different in the man‘s life.  Then one day, 28 years after his mother first prayed for him, this man came to a saving faith in Christ.

Today this man, Terry Williams, uses his testimony to help other prison inmates find their way to a relationship with the only One Who can save: Jesus Christ.

What if this mother had given up?  What if she decided it was not important enough to keep praying each and every day?  What a difference this mother made in her steadfast prayers due to her undying love for her son.   Today her son is making an eternal difference for others in prison.  This was all due to prayer.  Even though she had to wait

God Will Guide Your Steps in this Life

Prayer To Live For God In My Future Work

This article started with a friend of mine was was really stressing out due to the fact that you cannot seem to find a good job right now.  This was my reply to her.

Here a couple of thoughts for you to consider.

As you will see in the Scripture verse I will list below from the prophet Jeremiah – God will now be giving you a brand new future and a brand new hope for your life.

You Are Now Operating On A Different Playing Field!

Now that you have received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and have made a complete and full surrender of your entire life over to God the Father – He is now in complete and total charge of your life!

When you make this full surrender with God, it is now His job to take full and complete care of you in every detail of your life – including finding the next new job that He will want you to move into.

There is not an area or detail in your life that God will not be willing to help you out with – no matter how small or trivial you think it may be.

The Holy Spirit is called “the Helper” in the Bible. It is now His job to help you in every single area of your life where you will need His help.

Here is what you will really need to ground on in your own personal walk with the Lord. Now that you are walking in God’s perfect will for your life – God will now be the One to fully guide you into whatever jobs He will want you to have from here on in. The choice is no longer yours!

God now has a perfect divine plan and destiny set up for your life – and He will now be the One to guide you every step of the way into the fulfillment of that divine plan!

What specific jobs you will now be taking will be very important in your own spiritual growth and development with the Lord. The jobs you will now be taking will be building blocks that will lead you into whatever His specific plan and destiny is going to be for your life.

This now takes the burden off you in trying to find the next right job. You obviously will still have to seek after the next job – but God will now be guiding your steps as you continue to seek after this new job, making sure that you always land in the specific jobs that He will want you to have at the exact time He will want you to have them.

You are now operating on a different playing field where the rules have changed a bit for you.

What this means is that if you go on a job interview and do not get the job, this means that God did not want you to have this job in the first place – and He was the One who closed the door on you getting that job so as to make sure that you did not go down a wrong path.

So when you keep getting rejected after several interviews, do not look at these rejections you are a failure. Look at it that these were jobs that God did not want you to have in the first place, and that He was the One who was running interference so as to make sure that you did not end up taking those wrong jobs.

Remember – God already has your next new job all set up and planned out for you. All you have to do is simply wait for His timing to bring it to you!

I know the waiting can really get to you, but this is how God develops the fruit of patience and faith in your personality. You simply have to have full faith, trust, and belief that God now has your life completely in His hands and that He will now bring you the right job at the right time.

And not only does God have a set plan and a set future for your life – but He also has a set timetable in which all of these plans will manifest in your life.

You simply have to learn how to have patience during these waiting periods.

In the meantime, God will make sure and arrange that you have enough money and support coming in to help keep you afloat until this next job comes through. This is where you have to learn how to have complete faith in the Lord to do all of this for you.

Trust me, both Chris and I have been put through the waiting ringer plenty of times, and God has never failed to keep us afloat and open the door to the next step in our walk with Him when the time was right. You can take that fact to the bank!

The Scripture Verses

I will now give you some of the best verses from Scripture that will show you that it is now God’s job to fully guide you every step of the way as you now embark on this new journey with Him.

Study these verses very carefully! This is where many Christians really miss the boat with God.

Too many Christians are running there own lives and making their own choices instead of turning the reigns of their life over to God the Father for Him to fully handle.

Only God knows what your true potentials are in this life – and He is the only One who can arrange to have those full potentials maximized and realized in this life!

1.  This first verse will specifically tell you that God now has a definite PLAN and FUTURE set up for your life. This is from the prophet Jeremiah and it is a very popular verse.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

Notice the words “to give you.” God is going to give you, to bring to you His specific plans and future that He now has in store for your life.

2.  Memorize this next verse. This one liner is extremely powerful.

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord … “(Psalm 37:23)

Another way to look at this is that a step is one day in your life.

What this means is that God now has each day of your life perfectly planned out for you to the day that you depart from this life. You are now on the yellow brick road with the yellow color now being the light of God Himself.

Your job is to now live each day to its fullest, always trying to do the best at whatever God will be calling you to do for Him on that particular day.

If you can learn how to keep this kind of mindset, you will be less ly to throw pity parties when things do not go the way you think they should.

3.  Study this next verse very carefully as it really applies to your situation

“A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” (Proverbs 16:9)

What this verse means is that at times you will have to plan things out, try to figure things out, start testing things out.

As you are doing all of this, God will then direct your steps as you are walking them out, and before you know it, you will then end up at the place where God will want you to be at.

This verse perfectly fits into what you are dealing with right now on your job situation. You now have to seek after this next new job, but as you are in the process of seeking after this next new job – God will then make sure that He perfectly guides your steps all the way so that you can then land in the next job that He will want you to have.

You will thus find it as you are seeking after it.

4.  Here is another very powerful verse that will tell us that God will provide us with His divine protection if we are willing to listen to Him and follow His ways.

“But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, and will be secure, without fear of evil.” (Proverbs 1:33)

Notice the words “listen to me.” God leads – you follow. If you do, then God will give you safe and secure dwelling in this life and protection from evil things!

This is a very powerful promise for all believers. Many Christians find themselves in one dire circumstance after another as a result of not listening to God and doing what He wants them to be doing with their lives.

5.  The next 5 verses will tell you that God will now be fully guiding your steps in this life.

  • “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5)
  • Thus says the Lord, Your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you by the way you should go.” (Isaiah 48:17)
  • “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.” (Psalm 32:8)
  • “For this is God, our God forever and ever; He will be our guide even to death.” (Psalm 48:14)
  • The Lord will guide you continually …” (Isaiah 58:11)

Notice the specific words that God will “guide you continually, be our guide even to death, guide you with His eye, leads you by the way you should go, teaches you to profit, instructs you and directs your paths.”

These are extremely powerful words. All of these verses make it very clear that it is God’s job to fully guide and direct your steps in this life. And all of this is given to you free of charge.

This is why you can let go and let God.

This is why the Bible tells us that we can now cast all of our burdens and cares upon the Lord – because it is now His job to take full and complete care of all of us from the moment we fully surrender everything over to Him.

6.  This next verse now goes one step further and specifically tells us that it is not our responsibility to direct our own steps in this life, that this responsibility now belongs to God and God alone!

“O Lord, I know the way of man is not in himself; it is not in man who walks to direct his own steps.” (Jeremiah 10:23)

Put this verse together with all of the other ones listed above – and it becomes quite clear that it is God’s job to direct our steps in this life – not ours!

7.  This next verse is especially for you. Notice the last sentence where it tells you to trust in God, to wait patiently for Him, and that He will bring it to pass!

“Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass … Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him.” (Psalm 37:4,7)

Conclusion

I know it can get rather stressful and trying while waiting for God to bring this next job to you – but this is where you really have to give yourself pep talks from time to time when you start to get too down, just a professional athlete does when he starts to go into a slump.

The professional athlete can either quit, or talk himself back into the game until he gets his swing or shot back.

In this game with God, we have to give ourselves pep talks from time to time, telling ourselves that God has complete control of our entire situation, that the ship is not going to sink, and that our breakthrough will come at the exact time that He has it set up to occur on His timetable.

Until that happens, do what the last verse says to do – “Rest in the Lord.”

Otherwise you will drive yourself crazy with all of the nervous energy that will start to eat at you and rob you of your peace and joy that you now have in the Lord.

When it is all said and done, you will look back on all of this and see that you had wasted a tremendous amount of negative energy, since it will have been shown to you that God finally came through for you.

Trust me – I have seen God come through time and time again without fail. There is a saying that many have heard – “God is never late, but He is never early.”

This means that God will come in with the breakthrough on His time schedule – not ours!

I hope all of the above will help give you some peace of mind. The Bible is truly the infallible Word of our Holy God, and you can totally and completely rely on what all of the above Scripture verses are trying to tell you.

6 Keys for Breakthrough Prayer in Times of Need

Prayer To Live For God In My Future Work

Breakthrough! It speaks of overcoming an obstacle that is in our way—or of prevailing over a need, a restriction or an opposing enemy. Breakthrough can also mean an achievement or discovery that leads to significant progress. [1]

1.  Seek God’s Agenda First

‘This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.’ (1 John 5:14-15)

Daniel was a godly man who read the scriptures—including the prophecies of Jeremiah. He recognised that Jeremiah prophesied about the times that Daniel was now living in and began to seek God for the answers. He knew it was time to birth that prophecy in prayer.

We need to know that we are praying God’s purpose for our lives. This means firstly praying according to God’s revealed will in the Scripture. Upon that foundation, we can also seek an intimate relationship with Father God in which we can hear His purpose for our lives and situation—and pray that. [2]

2. Don’t Settle for Second Best

Hannah was childless, and it grieved her. Wanting to reassure her, Hannah’s husband offered his love and personal gifts, thinking these could please her. But Hannah would only be satisfied with one thing—a baby. As a result of Hannah’s prayer, a future prophet and priest was born. Samuel would bring the nation back to God. (1 Sam 1)

When God has placed something on our hearts, then Hannah we will be tempted to settle for the ‘status quo’ or second best. But that is the very time to passionately press in to God for the answer.

3. Pray from the Heart

Hannah cried a wordless prayer of deep groaning—and God answered it. (1 Sam 1:12-16, Rom 8:26-27)) Nehemiah shot up a prayer whilst he was going about his daily occupation. (Neh 2:1-5) These seemingly simple prayers, carried from the heart, changed nations.

There are no right and wrong ways to pray. Just real prayers.

It’s time to put aside formulas, and not to be intimidated by someone else’s style and eloquence. The prayers that God answers are real prayers from the heart, regardless of time, place or technique.

4. Pray with Praise and Thanksgiving

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. (Phil 4:6)

Paul and Silas were in a difficult situation. God called them to evangelise a city, but they were stuck in a dungeon, held in stocks. As they prayed in the night and offered up hymns of praise, God sent an earthquake to open the prison doors. (Acts 16:22-29)

When used in addition to prayer, praise is a powerful cutting-edge weapon for breakthrough. (Ps 149:6-9)

5. Don’t Give Up

Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. (Luke 18:1)

Daniel prayed and fasted for 21 days before an answer came. An angel appeared who had been battling in the heavenlies for the entire time Daniel had been in prayer. Daniel’s persistent prayers provided fuel for what God was doing on his behalf. (Dan 10)

6. Find Others who will Agree with You

Jesus said, “…if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” (Matt 18:19-20)

Esther is known as a woman whose courage saved a nation. However, prior to approaching the King, Esther called on Mordecai, all the Jews of the city, and her own attendants, to fast before God for 3 days. Esther knew that the real power lay in God answering the prayer of those who had joined her in the fast. (Esther 4:16)

When in need of a breakthrough, find others who will join you in prayer, because there is multiplied power in agreement.

3 Prayers for Success

Prayer To Live For God In My Future Work

Jeremiah 29:11 tells us that God has a plan for us that's filled with hope and a future. God is for us and not against us. He wants to see us succeed and have a full life.

Whether you're facing a new career, a difficult exam at school, or working toward building a relationship, these prayers will help you focus on asking God to lead you.

When you follow God and live within his blessings and favor, you will experience true success!

Prayer for Success in Work

Lord, You have promised that if we will commit our work to You, You will make it succeed. So today, I dedicate every aspect of that work to You. I need Your wisdom daily to make the right choices, ones that require fairness, integrity, and a servant spirit.

From the start of every work day, I want to begin and end with You, knowing that You will guide every step and every decision I make. Throughout the day, remind me that You are in charge, not me.

May I do all things with excellence at work as if I am doing them for You, Lord.

I want Your goals to be my goals, and Your purposes, mine. Give me a learning spirit so I can constantly increase the skills You have given me to honor You and bring You glory. I know I am not to neglect those gifts You have placed within me, but that I am to watch myself closely to keep ambition in its right place and temptation at bay.

Keep reminding me that people are more important than work projects, and that You not only want me to succeed, but You desire for me to help make others successful. Whether it’s my employer or a co-worker, help me see them as Your creations, worthy of respect and thoughtfulness. We all matter to You, God.

If I am treated unfairly at work, may I still reflect You in every way and keep my eyes on You. I know Your idea of success and mine may differ, and that to You, godly character is more important than completion of my goals.

Help me to work hard with patience and persistence, shunning laziness and embracing a thankful spirit for the employment You have given me.

No matter who signs my paycheck, and no matter how high or how low the ladder I’m on right now, I look to You as my ultimate Employer. I know that viewing You as my “Boss,” will not necessarily increase my salary or change my work conditions, but it will change me—and that You pay great benefits.

Serving You will put a smile on my face, allow my best work to shine through, and will insure that success belongs to You—Your way and Your time. I pledge to do the best that I can with what You have given me, Lord.

May Your plans become the desires of my heart—and may my work always be a success for You.

Prayer for Success at School

Lord, today I’m asking You to help me succeed as a student. I believe You are the Dream-maker, the Cultivator, and the Fulfiller of all worthy dreams.

You have been the Designer of my plans all along, and it’s You who will make them successful.

Help me to focus on my schoolwork, to listen carefully and show respect for my teachers and professors, and to receive correction well in areas where I’m wrong or haven’t yet mastered.

I know I am more than a student; I am a life-long learner and Your ambassador on mission wherever I go. Refine my abilities; hone my character; and help me choose wisely the areas of study that will make my life work successful. Keep me organized and free of distractions so I can focus on school.

Show me how to listen more and then share freely when it will encourage others or make a difference to those who hear. Help me to honor You in my friendships at school and to be ready to lend a hand when others are struggling in their studies or in their lives. Help me sow seeds of kindness, excellence, and honesty.

If my faith is challenged, give me courage to stand for You, no matter what the consequences.

I want to learn, Lord. I am eager to unwrap the gifts You have given me. With each new skill I acquire, help me to apply that learning to real life as well.

Let knowledge, understanding, and common sense form a bond together with Your Word that will guard me against temptation. Keep the deceiver away from my heart as I choose to walk with You daily.

Help me find moments in the flurry of school activities and crazy schedules to simply be still and know that You are God.

Protect me from a prideful ego and let humility lead me in the path of success You have carved out for me. You have given me a unique place in Your kingdom, and I trust You to open doors that I cannot open myself.

Help me not to turn to the left or right but to follow You daily. When anxious thoughts or fear of failure threaten to overtake me, I will rest in You and Your promise of success for my life.

Only You know what that success really means, but when You are on my side, I cannot fail.

everyone else, Lord, I want to succeed in my life and in my relationships. Balance is something I am always seeking so I can be successful in every area.

Help me not to put work, hobbies, or other activities ahead of You, my family, or my relationships, but to keep You in the center as the hub of my life.

Teach me Your priorities and help me keep them in the right place. Everything must revolve around You, Lord.

Bless my efforts to succeed, and may excellence, not perfectionism, drive my desires. Make me not only successful, but useful—a vessel of honor to be shared and poured out for You and Your kingdom.

Thank You that Your plans for me are beyond what I could possibly ask or hope or imagine. You actually want me to succeed so I can give You all the praise, honor, and glory.

I can do nothing without You, Lord.

When seasons of difficulties or interruptions creep into my life, help me to see them as opportunities to develop patience and persistence. You have given me every piece of armor I need to fight internal or external battles, and You have promised that nothing formed against me will prosper.

You know my beginning and when my life will end. You started the work in me, and it’s You Who will make it successful. You will complete that work as I simply abide in You, walk humbly and honestly, committing my life and all my plans to You.

Teach me to value and honor the ebb and flow of life that includes celebration, joy, pause, and reflection.

Because Your plans and Your ways are not mine, Your idea of success for my life may not make sense to me at times. But as a faithful, sovereign God, You hold it all, including permission to change me or my circumstances to fit Your plans for my life.

Fill me with Your power, Your grace, and Your love, so that I can be at peace as much as is possible with every relationship and every aspect of my life. Help me to know and do Your will, Lord—so that any success You give me will in turn bring You the glory You so deserve.

What I desire most is to come to the end of my life and hear Your “Well Done!” That’s true success to me.

In Jesus’ precious name,

Amen
