In this article, I will give you 100 of the best battle verses from the Bible. I simply cannot stress enough the power that is on these particular verses. Here’s a quick list of all the verses.

For those of you who have read the entire Old Testament, one of the things that really stands out is how God the Father would not hesitate go into battle for His chosen people, the Jews, when they were walking in good stead with Him.

God the Father was absolutely ferocious in His defense of the Jewish people when the situation would warrant Him coming to their aid.

The Bible tells us that God the Father does not change. And if God is still the same today as He was in the past, then this means that He will also come to the aid of all New Testament Christians who are walking in good stead with Him.

The best analogy I can give you on this is the family analogy. For those of you who are married and have children, just imagine that you just found out that someone was going to try and abduct and kill one of your children. What do you think your natural response to such a horrible threat would be?

You would have a strong righteous wrath rise up on you, and you would not hesitate to go into battle to either kill this abductor in self-defense if you had to, or arrange to make sure he got caught by the police and properly prosecuted.

I have had mother after mother tell me that they would not hesitate to kill someone this if they thought their child was going to be killed or seriously injured by such an evil individual.

It is the exact same way with God the Father. God is our real Father, and as such, can you imagine what some of His emotional responses may be when He sees one of His own children come under any type of human or demonic attack?

God the Father is a God of maximum intensity. This means that all of His emotions within His personality are going to be of a maximum intense nature.

So if God would have a very strong righteous wrath rise up on Him when seeing any of His own children come under any kind of an evil attack – can you just imagine what the intensity of that righteous wrath would be ?

This is why some of the battles God fought for the Jewish people back in the Old Testament were so bloody and so intense. Some of these battles were the full wrath and anger of God coming into full manifestation to defeat some of Israel’s enemies.

Just as God was so ferocious in His defense of the Jewish people back in the Old Testament – God can be just as intense and just as ferocious in His defense of you or any of your loved ones should the need ever arise where you would need His protection.

This is why the battle verses I will list in this article are so important for each and every Christian to have full knowledge of.

However, in order to be able to get God’s maximum protection on you, there are several things you must do before God will go this far with you. As I have said in my article on “How to Plead the Blood of Jesus for Deliverance and Protection,” many of God’s children are getting beat to a pulp in the playing field of life.

The main reason for this is that many Christians are lacking real working knowledge in the area of spiritual warfare.

God says in His Word that His people will perish for having lack of knowledge. And not having the right kind of knowledge in spiritual warfare is what is getting so many of His people beat up in this life.

Demons, and humans who have chosen to live this life on the dark side, are constantly on the prowl seeking who they are going to try and devour next.

All you have to do is watch the daily news and it is one horror story after another. Robberies, abductions, murders, and thefts are occurring every minute of every day in our country and all across the world. And some of those who are coming under these types of evil attacks are Christians.

For those of you who really want to learn how to get God to protect you from some of these types of vicious and evil attacks – I would strongly recommend that you read and study the article I did on how to Plead the Blood of Jesus – and then go into our Testimonies section and study some of the testimonies we have written up showing you how to go into battle against some real adverse situations.

The battle advice that we had given to each person in these testimonies brought complete and total victory against the adverse situations they were all facing.

Once you have the knowledge on how to get God to move on your behalf in a battle situation – defeating whatever enemy has come your way can then become quite easy, since God is all-powerful and there is nothing that He cannot do – which would include handling any type of storm cloud that may have just come your way.

I would also highly recommend that you write or type out all of these battle verses on index cards in the order that I will give them to you. If you are willing to take this kind of extra step with the Lord, then you will have right at your fingertips all of the main battle verses of the Bible.

As you will see when reviewing some of our testimonies, you will need to incorporate some of these battle verses into your own personal battle prayers when engaging with whatever enemy may have come your way.

A good example of this is the testimony titled, “Battle Prayer Against Terminal Hodgkin’s Disease.

” In this testimony, the battle prayer that I had given to this woman came in a little bit longer than some of the other ones.

In this battle prayer are quite a few healing and battle verses that were put into the battle prayer itself so she could go on the offensive against the terminal cancer that had just struck her brother.

This is why I cannot stress enough how powerful these battle verses really are. If you are willing to put these battle verses into an index card system – you will then have right at your fingertips “God-torpedoes” to shoot at whatever enemy may come your way – whether it be human, demonic, or any kind of illness or disease.

As you will see in some of the battle verses I will list below – there are several verses that talk about God the Father being a “Man of War,” and that He can be stirred up to go into battle for you. And the way that you stir up God the Father to go into battle for you is to form out the appropriate battle prayers that will fit the specific battle situation you may be facing.

The other angle on all of this is that more Christians need to learn how to go on the offensive against whatever enemy has come their way. Too many Christians are way too passive when they are hit by any type of serious storm cloud.

God the Father is just waiting for you to come directly to Him to take this storm cloud head on operating under His full power and authority to be able to do so. But if you are not willing to go on the offensive against these bad storm clouds David did with Goliath, then neither will God.

And this is why so many Christians are getting defeated when these types of bad storm clouds do come against them – all due to passive inaction on their part.

Now I will take you into some of the most powerful verses in all of the Bible showing you how God can go into battle for you to defeat whatever enemy may come your way – no matter how big, mean, or nasty you think this enemy may be!

Study these verses very, very carefully, as they are all showing you the “war side” to God the Father’s personality and how ferociously He can go into battle for you to defeat any enemy that may try and come against you in this life. These are whopper power verses, and I mean whopper power verses!

Stay Humble in Your Battle Walk With the Lord

I will end this article with two very good verses showing us that even though God can come to our aid in very powerful and miraculous ways to defeat our enemies – He still wants us to remain humble with all of this, along with making sure that we treat all of our enemies with love, respect, and kindness.

  1. Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles; lest the Lord see it, and it displeases Him, and He turn away His wrath from him.” (Proverbs 24:17)
  2. If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink; for so you will heap coals of fire on his head, and the Lord will reward you.” (Proverbs 25:21)

Notice the first verse is telling us not to rejoice and be happy when God does have to move into battle to defeat our enemies. The reason for this is because your enemy has now been placed under judgment with God, and God is now deeming that some kind of appropriate action has to be taken.

This is actually a very sad state of affairs when God is forced to have to render some type of judgment on someone.

This is why God does not want us rejoicing when He does have to go this far with someone. The best analogy to understand this principle is with our criminal justice system.

Even though everyone is glad and relieved when a murderer is caught and sent to prison for the rest of his life – the sad part about all of this is the fact that the murderer has chosen with his own free will to live his life on the dark side and that he will go straight to hell when he dies and crosses over, unless he gets saved and gets all of his sins forgiven with Jesus before he dies.

The Bible tells us that murderers will not be inheriting the Kingdom of God unless they get saved and washed clean under the Blood of Jesus. If they do not, then it is very sad thing knowing what awaits all of them on the other side once they die and cross over. I think this is why God wants all of us to treat even our worst enemies with love, respect, and kindness.

Conclusion

All of the above Scripture verses will give you more than enough live ammunition should you ever need them to face any enemy or storm cloud head on.

You can also use many of these battle verses in conjunction with the healing verses of the Bible when you are needing a healing on something.

All sickness and disease is also our enemy, and as such, you can ask God to move into battle for you against any sickness or disease that is attempting to come against you as we have shown you how to do in the Testimonies Section of our website.

Just pick out the appropriate battle and/or healing verses for whatever enemy you are attempting to engage with – then form out your own personal battle prayer with God the Father – and then go on the offensive against that enemy if you have a solid green light from the Lord to take that enemy head on.

Our God is a powerful Man of War – and He can be stirred up to go into battle for either you or any of your close loved ones if your enemy will not retreat or back down.

Prayer to St Michael: Our Defense in Daily Battle

I was in my mid-twenties, taking part in a peaceful, pro-life Rosary walk, when the people leading the decades surprised me at the end by reciting a prayer that I did not know:

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Hosts,
cast into hell, Satan and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.

Amen.

The Prayer to St. Michael was new to me that day (back then, I had only recently learned how to pray the Rosary), but over the years that followed, it became one of the most important prayers in my life.

After composing the Prayer to St. Michael in the 19th century, Pope Leo XIII prescribed it to be said at the end of all Low Masses throughout the Christian world—a practice which, as I understand it, remained in place until the reforms of Vatican II. In 1994, Saint John Paul II called for a renewal of the devotion.

“Although today this prayer is no longer recited at the end of Mass,” he said, “I ask everyone not to forget it, and to recite it to obtain help in the battle against the forces of darkness and against the spirit of this world.”

The Prayer to St. Michael is a powerful devotion that we can turn to for help, not only at the end of Mass, but in many different circumstances in everyday life.

St. Michael Takes Care of Us and Our Families

In a homily given to newlyweds in 1940, (as recorded in the book Dear Newlyweds: Pope Pius XII Speaks to Married Couples), Pope Pius XII exhorted the faithful to invoke the patronage of St. Michael—not only at the hour of death, but in the many hours of life.

“You must not think that [Michael]…waits until the hour of death to manifest his goodness to mankind,” Pope Pius XII said.

“How dear, then, his patronage ought to be to you, husbands and wives, in order to help you receive into this world the souls for which you will prepare a physical abode in obedience to the law of the Creator! And after this, Holy Michael will continue to assist you in your mission, taking care of you and your children.”

In our homes and workplaces, in a car or in the grocery store, in homeless shelters or in adoration—anywhere we go, at any time, we can ask for St. Michael’s protection over our loved ones and the everyday affairs that affect our lives. He hears our petitions for health and protection of mind, body, and spirit, and comes quickly to our assistance.

“Ask Holy Michael to keep from your homes the anxieties which children’s ill health, threats of epidemics, or actual crises cause to the hearts of parents,” Pope Pius XII said. “But the Church invokes the Archangel above all as protector of the health of souls, far more precious than bodily health, and always threatened by the contagion of evil.”

After reading Dear Newlyweds during our first year of marriage, my husband and I adopted the practice of stopping to pray the St. Michael prayer together any time we recognized the signs of our marriage being under spiritual attack.

The enemy will attack Christian marriages, but God gives us the graces of sacramental marriage and the might of St. Michael to protect us. Whenever we sense unnecessary hurt, anger, frustration, or miscommunication coming between us, my husband or I will begin saying the St.

Michael prayer, and the other person will join in.

I won’t lie to you. There have been times when I could barely get the words out. That’s the nature of spiritual attack—it is characterized by a strong resistance to prayer.

Recognizing this, I must remember that I am in a battle, and in order to win, I must pray. It is an act of the will, and it is worth every ounce of effort. When we finish the prayer, a tangible grace enfolds us.

The Archangel has arrived to defend us in battle.

“However much Satan strives to cast [men] into hell, so much the more the Archangel labors to bring them back to the paradise they lost,” Pope Pius XII said. When the enemy is plotting our destruction, St. Michael is arranging our protection.

“Let These Souls Not Fall into Darkness”

While I was in the midst of writing this article, I took a walk and came upon a husband and wife having an escalated argument in the street, in front of their child.

At first, I didn’t know what to do. Then, I remembered that I was writing this article, and the Holy Spirit inspired me to pray the St. Michael prayer for them. It was a consolation to me, knowing that St.

Michael would help this family.

To pray the St. Michael prayer for others is to imitate the Church, who invokes St. Michael on behalf of Her faithful. As Pope Pius XII noted, the prayer of the Offertory of the Mass for the Dead proclaims: “Let these souls not fall into darkness, but let the standard-bearer Michael bring them into the holy light.”

The St. Michael prayer is a treasure in the history of the Church. In its entirety, it is filled with supernatural grace and power; yet even if the only part we can remember to say into the darkness is the first line—“St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle”—we can be confident that this alone will be enough to bring this angelic protector to our side.

And when St. Michael is on our side, the enemy is defeated (Rev 12:7-9). As Pope Francis said in 2013, when he consecrated Vatican City to the Archangel’s protection, “St. Michael wins, because in him there is God who acts.”

May St. Michael, by the power of God, defend you, dear reader, and your loved ones, and all of those who most need his protection.

A week or so ago I put together a massive post with well over a hundred bible verses about money and talked about how we need to make sure that we always put God first in our lives before money – and everything else.

We can easily allow money to become our master, and God can quickly move to the background if we’re not careful.

No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. Matthew 6:24

One thing that occurred to me in the midst of listing all those verses, however, is that I never really touched on a topic that seems to be especially important right now in the midst of a double dip recession when so many people are having a hard time.  The idea of looking to God for strength in the midst of hard times.

Bible Verses About Strength

Today I decided to bring together some encouraging and challenging verses talking about how and where we need to find strength in the midst of turbulent times. I hope you find them uplifting as well.

Where Do We Find Strength?

Where do we find our strength? In the Lord our God!

Psalm 46:1-3 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.

Proverbs 18:10 The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe.

Nehemiah 8:10 Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Exodus 15:2 The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him—  my father’s God, and I will exalt him!

Psalm 9:9-10 The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.

Don’t Worry Or Fear, Find Your Strength In Him

It can be so easy to give into worry, fear and despair, but with Him we can find strength, and look forward to wonderful things.  He gives us hope!

Isaiah 43:1-3 Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord you God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.

Luke 12:25-26 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life[a]? 26 Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?

Philippians 4:6 Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Psalm 145: 18-19 The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them.

Isaiah 12:2 Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord, is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.

God Gives Us A Spirit Of Strength And Power

Through faith in Christ we are given a spirit of power, love and discipline, and for that reason we have nothing to fear.  We can hold onto his promises and be confident that he’ll see us through even the darkest of days.

2 Timothy 1:7 For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.

Psalm 138:3 When I called, you answered me; you made me bold and stouthearted.

Psalm 16:8 I have set the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

Psalm 62:1-2 My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.

Psalm 112: 1, 7-8 Praise the Lord! Happy are those who fear the Lord. They are not afraid of evil tidings; their hearts are firm, secure in the Lord. Their hearts are steady, they will not be afraid.

Hard Times May Come, But He’s There With Us Through Them All

Though we aren’t promised an easy life, we are told that Christ will be there with us when we believe in Him, that he won’t give us more than we can handle with His help,  and even our hard times can be used to glorify God.

2 Corinthians 12:9 My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.

Philippians 4: 12-13 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation . . . . I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

2 Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.

Isaiah 40:29 He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.

1 Peter 5: 10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

Hebrews 4:16 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who in every respect has been tested as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Deuteronomy 31:6,8 Be strong and bold; have no fear or dread of them, because it is the Lord your God who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.

2 Thessalonians 3:16 Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way.

 Strength In Christ Our Lord And Savior

As the verses above illustrate, we’re told to call on Jesus Christ, and that he will hear us and give us strength, hope and a grace sufficient to carry us through.  He will be our ever present help when we’re in need, and he can give us a peace that passes all understanding.  For me that’s extremely encouraging.
