Top 7 Bible Verses About God’s Steadfastness

Prayer of Thanks for God’s Steadfast Love

Here are 7 Bible verses that will hopefully make you better understand God’s steadfastness.

A Definition of Steadfastness

We could define steadfastness as having a firm loyalty or constant and unswerving dedication to something or someone. It is fixed or unchanging and solidly established so steadfastness is immovable, irrefutable, unchangeable, unalterable, and is completely and utterly dependable.

That is a great definition for God as He says I am the Lord and I change not (Mal 3:6).

If you desire to know more about God’s steadfast nature, particularly His steadfast love, read the Psalms because the steadfastness of God is mentioned 132 times of the 219 times it is mentioned in the Bible and it is almost always associated with His steadfast love being joined together in almost every single one of them.

Psalm 25:10 “All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.”

Of the 219 times that the word steadfast appears it is followed by the word love in nearly 200 of those times in the Bible. That is one thing we know with 100% certainty about God; His love is steadfast, just as His faithfulness is. All the paths of the Lord are sure and dependable and His paths are as steadfast as God Himself is.

Hebrews 6:19-20 “We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.”

If there was anything we could say about God it is that He is steadfast and that He is the steadfast anchor of our soul. We have confidence to enter into the throne room of heaven because of our High Priest, Jesus Christ, Who abides there and intercedes for us every time we need Him.

Psalm 85:10 “Steadfast love and faithfulness meet; righteousness and peace kiss each other.”

God is always faithful and His steadfast love is immutable and so we see where these two meet in Jesus Christ whose steadfast love and faithfulness were revealed at the cross and for us, it is where righteousness and peace meet with one another. We have His righteousness imputed toward us (2nd Cor 5:21) because He took on our sins and we have peace with God because of this (Rom 8:1) as the wrath of God has been removed from us.

First Thessalonians 1:2-3 “We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers, remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Here is another reference to an anchor of hope…it is “in our Lord Jesus Christ” for there is no other name that can save us (Acts 4:12) and that should compel us to be forever thankful to God.

Daniel 2:44 “And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall the kingdom be left to another people. It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever.”

This day is coming…the day when the kingdoms of this world become the kingdom of our God. This kingdom shall never be destroyed nor shall it ever end. It will remain steadfast for all time.

Second Thessalonians 3:5 “May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ.”

We have no steadfastness outside of our faith in Christ. He is that Solid Rock upon which we stand and all other ground is sinking sand. The steadfastness that is found in Christ will allow us to stand on that day of judgment that is surely coming upon the whole world.

First Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”

Here is one of the few Bible verses on steadfastness that we ourselves can be said to be steadfast and immovable but that is only because of our faith in Christ. Our faith is only as steadfast as the Object of our Faith and that is Jesus Christ; the immutable, immovable, and never-changing God.

Conclusion

If you have never repented and trusted in Christ then you are on shaky ground because you will stand before the Son of God and be judged for your sins and have to give an account for every idle word and ever deed done in this life (Rev 20:12-15). If you have trusted in Christ, then your sins were accounted for at Calvary and that enables you to stand fast before the Lord.

Prayers to Thank God

Prayer of Thanks for God’s Steadfast Love

The Bible tells us “Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9).

It’s important to have faith in God when you can’t see the way but how can you offer God praise when you’re dealing with hardship and pain? The choices you make in these moments are so important. They can propel you toward God or away from Him.

You can find God in the hard times by choosing to trust and hope when we can’t see the way. This will help us turn to praise and glorify God better.

According to Scripture, praise is an act of our will that flows us through reverence of God. Our God is worthy of praise.

Revelations 5:11-14 speaks of a voice of a thousand angels around God’s throne, singing in a mighty chorus “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain – to receive powers and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing”. When we give glory to God, it opens us up to a more intimate relationship with Him.

God is present come rain or shine. He is even present when we fail to realize it. It’s important that we not only turn our focus back to praise when we begin to lose hope but also that we turn to praise in times of abundance.

Many of us are quick to question God when things go wrong, but slow to honor Him when things go well. One of the biggest challenges here is turning every blessing He pours into our lives back into praise. One way we can do this is through gratitude.

Thanksgiving is a great way for us as Christians to take steps into worship. Psalm 100 exhorts this and us: “Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His spirits with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name” (Psalm 100: 4-5).

In order to have a heart of gratitude, we must acknowledge God. Here are six prayers to thank God.

Thank You For Loving Me

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me. Thank You for forgiving me. Thank You for showing me my worthiness and for pursuing me. I am in awe of You Lord! I submit my heart to you Lord. May Your Holy Spirit transform me and make me You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thank You For My Countless Blessings

Heavenly Father, I want to thank You for my countless blessings.

I thank You not only for the food I have to eat, lovingly prepared for me, but also for spiritual gifts, in particular the loved ones I cherish dearly, a comfortable place to live, the beauty that surrounds me, health, and spiritual wealth to name a few.

I acknowledge you for the countless blessings You’ve provided. I thank You for giving us clear direction through Your Holy Word. Through good and bad times, help me to see that we are blessed beyond measure. Amen.

Thank You For Waking Me Up

Heavenly Father, on this day I give You thanks for waking me up this morning and starting me on my way. Today, I ask that I recognize how blessed I am – that I may be spiritually transformed.

Help me to not wake up with a complaining spirit, an attitude and dwelling on yesterday’s problems.

Instead, I ask that You change our complaining to thanksgiving, our attitude to love and that I turn all my problems and stress over to You. In Your Holy name I pray. Amen.

Thank You For Every Good and Perfect Gift

Heavenly Father, I humbly come before You with a grateful heart, praising You with all my being, for I know that every good and perfect gift comes from You –The One who never changes.

I recognize those good things, both large and small, with which You have blessed me. As I lift up this prayer, I also recognize our forgetfulness in giving You thanks each and every day. Forgive me.

May I learn to thank You for the good; And may I trust the evil to be made good by You. For You alone are worthy of our praise and thanksgiving. Amen.

Thank You For Those I Love and Those in Need

Heavenly Father, I want to thank you for blessing me. Today, I pray not only for my loved ones, but also for those around me in positions of need.

When I have food, help me to remember the hungry; When I have work, help me to remember the jobless; When I have a home, help me to remember those who have no home at all; When I am without pain, help me to remember those who suffer, And remembering, help me to destroy my complacency; help me to have compassion for those around me, and be concerned enough to help; By word and deed, those who cry out for what we take for granted. Amen.

Thank You For Your Grace and Generosity

Heavenly Father, Creator of all and source of all goodness and love, please look kindly upon me and receive my heartfelt gratitude in this time of giving thanks.

I acknowledge You for all gifts and blessings You have bestowed upon us: food and shelter, health, love we have for one another, my family and friends. I thank you for Your infinite generosity.

Please grant me continued Grace and blessings throughout the coming year. In Your Holy Name we pray. Amen.

When we focus our minds in the direction of God and proclaim His goodness, we reflect His glory. When we do this, we are filled with peace and contentment. This can help shift our outlook related to our circumstances. Finding God in the hard times can be particularly difficult. That’s why it’s so important to choose trust and hope when you can’t see the way.

God has blessed us with so much. We can’t acknowledge what we have without thanking God, our Heavenly Father, who gave us the gift of life and from whom all blessings flow. Praise God for He is good and His mercy endures forever.

Prayer #5 – Giving in Obedience

O Lord, There are some of us here today that didn’t want to come here. There are some of us today that will give to the offering with bitter hearts. Father, I pray You will soften the hearts of those who are worried about giving You their money instead of spending it on themselves.

Father, I pray that You will bless all who give today and show them Your love in a mighty way because of their obedience. Bless these tithes and offerings, Father. We love You!

Amen

Prayer #6 – The Tithe is Yours

Father, We come to Your throne with humble hearts as we are so thankful for the blessings You give us daily. Lord, We believe in the Book of Leviticus. Father, I pray that as we give

You our offerings and tithes this morning that we all will think about the fact that the tithe is Yours. It belongs to You. May we never withhold what is Yours. Please accept these offerings and tithes with gladness, Lord. We Love You!

Amen

Prayer #7 – We Give You What is Already Yours

Dear Lord, We thank You for another chance for us to meet together in Your house to worship You. Father, we believe in the Book of 1 Corinthians and I pray that all offerings given today are love.

Amen

Prayer #8 – Take It and Use It for Your Kingdom

Lord, we thank for Your faithfulness. Thank you that we can always trust in You. You are an abundant God and Your great mercy you have given us so much.

We give you this offering today. With it we worship You and give our whole selves to You. Please now take it and use it for Your kingdom and Your glory. Extend and multiple its reach and influence we pray. May it be a great blessing to many.

We ask all this in the powerful name of Jesus.

Amen.

Prayer #9 – Sanctify Every Beat of My Heart

O my God ! I offer Thee all my actions of this day for the intentions and for the glory of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I desire to sanctify every beat of my heart, my every thought, my simplest works, by uniting them to Its infinite merits ; and I wish to make reparation for my sins by casting them into the furnace of Its Merciful Love.

O my God! I ask thee for myself and for those whom I hold dear, the grace to fulfill perfectly Thy Holy Will, to accept for love of Thee the joys and sorrows of this passing life, so that we may one day be united together in Heaven for all Eternity.

Amen.

Prayer #10 – Thank You for Meeting My Financial Needs

Heavenly Father, thank you for your many blessings and I thank you that as I give tithes and offerings, I am believing the Lord for:

Jobs and better jobs, raises and bonuses, benefits, sales and commissions, favorable settlements, estates and inheritances, interest and income, rebates and returns, discounts and dividends, checks in the mail, gifts and surprises, finding money, bills decreased and bills paid off, blessings and increase.

Thank you Lord for meeting my financial needs that I may have more than enough to give into the kingdom of God and promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Raise your hand and say, “It’s true, it’s for me, and I’m a giver. God has given to me and I am not limited by the world’s economy. Heaven’s economy is mine.”

Thank you Lord for your many blessings. They come in from every direction and I bless the name of the Lord Jesus who made it possible for me to return to what God intended me to be; full of authority through His name and very blessed.

Thank you Lord, in Jesus’ name.
Amen

And Abram gave him a tenth of everything.

LEV. 27:30–34
Every tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the trees, is the Lord’s; it is holy to the Lord. If a man wishes to redeem some of his tithe, he shall add a fifth to it.

And every tithe of herds and flocks, every tenth animal of all that pass under the herdsman’s staff, shall be holy to the Lord.

One shall not differentiate between good or bad, neither shall he make a substitute for it; and if he does substitute for it, then both it and the substitute shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.”

DEUT. 12:5–6
But you shall seek the place that the Lord your God will choose all your tribes to put his name and make his habitation there. There you shall go, and there you shall bring your burnt offerings and your sacrifices, your tithes and the contribution that you present, your vow offerings, your freewill offerings, and the firstborn of your herd and of your flock.

2 CHRON. 31:4–5
And he commanded the people who lived in Jerusalem to give the portion due to the priests and the Levites, that they might give themselves to the Law of the Lord.

As soon as the command was spread abroad, the people of Israel gave in abundance the firstfruits of grain, wine, oil, honey, and of all the produce of the field.

And they brought in abundantly the tithe of everything.

MARK 12:41–44
And he sat down opposite the treasury and watched the people putting money into the offering box. Many rich people put in large sums. And a poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which make a penny.

And he called his disciples to him and said to them, “Truly, I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the offering box.

For they all contributed their abundance, but she her poverty has put in everything she had, all she had to live on.”

Here is a look at the truth about tithing according to the scripture Malachi 3:10. Presented by Grace Bible Church.
