Walk In God’s Protection Today

God’s Word is filled with promises of His protection for His beloved children. Psalm 91, for example, is a beautiful psalm of protection for every believer.

Whether it is protection from contagious illnesses, horrific accidents, or unexpected attacks, Psalm 91 gives us scripture after scripture assuring us that the Lord is watching over us to keep us and to deliver us from all kinds of evil— seen and unseen.

And when you know that every promise of protection is for you to enjoy, you can live life with confidence and hope, not paralyzed by fears of uncertainties, calamities, or bad news.

How can you walk in the Lord’s protection today?

One way is to take time to saturate your heart in the protection promises of Psalm 91, knowing that as a child of God, the finished work of our Lord Jesus has secured for you every promise of protection in this wonderful psalm.

As you let His Word take root in and guard your heart, His peace will anchor your heart and fear will lose its hold over you. This is one way you can live unafraid and bold in God’s love and promises for you and your loved ones!

Another way is to pray and speak the promises of Psalm 91 over yourself and your loved ones. When you do this, you’re telling the Lord that your trust and dependence is on Him to watch over you and your family and to keep you safe.

It also tells us that God gives grace—His undeserved favor, blessing, and protection—to the humble (see 1 Pet. 5:5)—to those who acknowledge their need of Him.

Today, we encourage you to use the following prayers to express your dependence on the Lord for His supernatural leading, right positioning, and protection. Make it a habit to look to Him and pray these prayers every day. And as you invite Him to lead, protect, and deliver you and your family, expect to see His peace and protection cover you and your household completely!

Prayer Of Protection Over You And Your Family

Abba Father, I declare that in all things, You are my strength and my shield. You alone are my family’s unshakable refuge and fortress. I thank You that we can trust You to protect us from all harm. Today, I believe that no evil will befall us and that no plague will come near our dwelling.

I declare that as Your Word has promised, my family and I will be far from oppression and terror, for it will not come near us. Thank You that we can live life bold and unafraid, for we know You are lovingly and tirelessly watching over us.

Because of what Your Son, Jesus, has done for us at the cross, my family and I are under an open heaven of favor, protection, and blessings today. Amen.

Prayer Of Protection From Diseases

Abba Father, thank You that in Christ Jesus, we are blessed. Your Word says that He has redeemed us from every curse, which includes the curse of sickness and disease. Today, I ask and trust You to keep and protect every member of my household from viruses, pestilences, and plagues.

I thank You that none of these things can prevail against us. I believe that regardless of what we see and hear about in the world, it is You who keep our bodies healthy, resilient, and full of divine life.

Abba Father, thank You that as my family and I go about our daily lives, we can rest, assured of Your protection over our lives. We look to You to keep us safe from all kinds of accidents, mishaps, and events that may harm us.

We ask you to put a hedge of protection around us and we thank You that You are constantly watching over us, placing us at the right place at the right time with the right people. I declare that even if a thousand fall at our side, and ten thousand at our right hand, we shall be protected from every evil.

5 Prayers For Protection Against Terrorism

Here are five short prayers for protection against terrorism.

Pray back Your Word

Oh Great God in heaven, I pray back the words of Your psalmist as a prayer and pray to you, “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust” (Psalm 91:1-2), because Lord God, You have said in Your Word that you will cover us under your “pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler” (Psalm 91:4), and so I will “not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday” (Psalm 91:5-6) for You are sovereign over all the nations and nothing can be done contrary to Your will Father, so thank You for Your keeping those of us who are Your own safe, and in the mighty name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.

Prayer for Authorities

God, my Father, I pray for the law enforcement personnel who put their life at risk every day. They never know what a day will hold.

Will you protect them from harm and to make them aware of things that might harm those in public? Put your wings over them to protect them as they are the authorities that You have sovereignly placed for our own good (Rom 13:-15), and so thank You for them and for the sacrifices they make, but also the families who live with the possibilities that their family member might be harmed or killed. These days are increasingly dangerous and there seems to be no end in sight, so God, please protect these men and women while they are performing their duty and I include all military personnel who are also often in harm’s way, in their endeavors to protect us and thank you for them as well, and in Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.

Prayer for Families Protection

Father God, You alone can see the future and I pray to You Who can look down the corridors of time and see what’s ahead of us, and so I pray to ask Your protection today for my family and those whom I love that You would keep them from harm.

Today, Lord, it seems to be a more dangerous world than ever before, but I know I can trust You with the future and so I commit my trust in You to watch over my family and me so that we can be protected against all harm, including those who want to destroy this nation who are under the evil influences of the wicked.

I ask this in the name above all names, and that is Jesus Christ, the Son of God, in whose name I pray. Amen.

Prayer of Deliverance

Father God, I know that Jesus taught His disciples (and us) to pray for protection from the Evil One (John 17:11,15), and so I pray as the psalmist did, “Deliver me, O Lord, from evil men; preserve me from violent men, who plan evil things in their heart and stir up wars continually” (Psalm 140:1-2) and “Guard me, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from violent men, who have planned to trip up my feet” (Psalm 140:4). I know that You see all that there is to see and I know that Satan or his demons have inspirited terrorists in this world, but I know that You have said, through Jesus, that not one of us will be lost (John 6:39), and that “All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out” (John 6:37) and so I thank You for that promise “that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom 8:38-39), and for that, I thank You and pray in Jesus’ glorious name. Amen.

Prayer for Judgment

Great God in heaven, You are the Judge of all the universe and will bring these terrorist into judgment on a day that you have appointed and so thank You for Your righteousness that promises all will be judged in the end (Rom 20:12-15), and so I pray, as the psalmist did, “Grant not, O Lord, the desires of the wicked; do not further their evil plot, or they will be exalted” (Psalm 140:8) and “let them be caught in the schemes that they have devised” (Psalm 10:2b) because “the wicked boasts of the desires of his soul” (Psalm 10:3a) but I boast in You alone God for only You can save those that are dead in their sins (Eph 2:1-2), and that is my prayer, that these terrorist will be brought to a knowledge of the Holy One and I also pray You would keep the Evil One away and thank You for protecting our family and this nation from wicked terrorists who in their thoughts say, “There is no God” (Psalm 10:4b), and this I pray in the strong name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Conclusion

Terrorism is growing today and most of it comes from a false religion that seeks to assimilate the rest of the world and indoctrinate them into their wicked, satanistic religion to do more murdering of the innocent and try to intimidate others in the hopes of making them fearful as well as their goal it to make all the world under one religion, thereby stripping all others of their right to worship God in spirit and in truth (John 4:24) of if they choose not to worship God. It’s only a matter of time before God fulfills Isaiah’s prophecy that “I will punish the world for its evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; I will put an end to the pomp of the arrogant, and lay low the pompous pride of the ruthless” (Isaiah 13:11), so “Woe to the wicked! It shall be ill with him, for what his hands have dealt out shall be done to him” (Isaiah 3:11). If you have never trusted in Christ, God sees you as His enemy, and “it will not be well with the wicked, neither will he prolong his days a shadow, because he does not fear before God” (Eccl 8:13).

Praying for God’s Protection

The following prayers are NOT meant to be shortcuts that replace a close and intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. HE is our greatest  source of protection.

Our position of protection must always be under His wing (Psalm 91). We should keep short accounts with sin in our lives by confessing sin and repenting of sin.

When we keep a clean slate, the enemy has no legal foothold in our lives.

If you have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour of your life, might I invite you to do so now. I am a Christian and my life is in His hands. My Faith is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness. Read more at “What is salvation and why do I need to be saved?”

How to Pray Protection Over Your Home

When addressing the enemy (Satan), speak aloud. You don’t need to do this with a loud voice, even a whisper is fine.

However, contrary to what mythology horror movies attest to, our enemy is not all knowing. Please pray these prayers in faith believing and not as chants.

Remember, you are asking someone with whom you have a relationship to come to your aid. You are not reading a memorized shopping list.

Go through your house with any oil, it doesn’t have to be a special type of oil. Olive oil, vegetable oil and baby oil are all great.

I once used lipbalm! Put a small dot of oil on the top and the sides of every access way into your home, interior windows and doors and interior entryways into every room of your house, including the basement and attic. The oil doesn’t need to be placed in a conspicuous spot.

If you have a garage, do not forget to anoint its interior as well. Pray this as you go through each room. “I pray for the protection of the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ over this room/window/entryway.”

Walk throughout your house, asking the Lord to show you any object or item that gives you pause or makes you wonder if it is to be prayed over. Questionable statues, posters, books, movies, CDs, souvenirs brought at temples, knickknacks, jewelry, that sort of thing.

Ask the Lord if you should anoint it, praying the prayer above over it, or if it would be better to remove it.

Don’t spend hours wondering over objects, ask the Lord to speak to you clearly and quickly and trust Him that he will show you what if anything must be removed or anointed.

A word of caution: You do not have the right to remove or destroy another person’s property.

Ask politely if you can pray a prayer of blessing over whatever item is disturbing you. If they are open to the idea, remove it from the home.

God’s Promises to Protect Us In Times of Danger – Click on this link for promises of God’s protection over yourself and your loved ones. Personalize these as you pray. For example, if you are praying Psalm 91 for your son, Robert, simply replace the word “he who dwells” with “Robert who dwells” and so on, as you read the psalm prayerfully.

A Word of Caution Concerning Angelic Protection

Keep in mind that Satan himself is a fallen angel and that most bible scholars agree that many angels chose to rebel along with Satan. Always ask God to send you HIS angelic protection in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Be discerning and carefully research anyone who offers courses on ‘angels’ and ‘angelic spirit guides’ or ‘angel protectors’.

Most new-age practitioners do not understand the difference between fallen angels and God’s heavenly guard. If you are researching online, always look for the website’s statement of faith or their ‘about us’ page. If they do not have a statement of faith, it’s probably a sign it is not a Christian organization.

If they do not clearly state that there is no other way to Heaven and that there is no other way to God except through unconditional and total surrender to Jesus Christ, stay clear of any of their teachings. Stay clear of any websites that state all paths lead to God.

Stay away from any books or so called agencies or ministries that assert that Jesus is only one of many spiritual ‘teachers’.

Although they may use language that appears to be ‘Christian’ on the surface, you will find New Age books, teachings and websites deny Jesus’ deity and are offended that Christians consider Jesus as the ONLY way, the ONLY truth, and the ONLY light. Finally, avoid any website or book that places more emphasis on created beings (Angels) than the creator, Yahweh, the only true and living God.

Daily Prayers of Protection

Pray them in this order. You will understand the logic of the order as you go along the steps.

1. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I command a hedge of protection to be around my home and property today and I ask that warrior angels sent by the one true God would be placed to stand guard at any holes that might be in that hedge. *Holes in the hedge can be caused by yet to be dealt with sin, trauma or wounding in the lives of the people who dwell in the home.

2. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I command any free, unbound, or wandering spirits to get out beyond that hedge of protection now.

*An access point could be cable TV, the internet, telephone or other communication devices in the home, power hookup, water supply or heat source.

4. Father God, I ask for a spiritual umbrella of protection over me and a spiritual hedge of protection around me. I place the full armour of God on me, and I ask that the light of the Lord Jesus shine through me this day.

I strongly recommend praying Ephesians 6:13-17 on a daily basis and that you pray it not as some sort of talisman but that you apply the passage to your daily routine. Stand firm, be truthful and believe the truth, be righteous, be at peace with God and man, remain firm in faith, guard your mind and learn how to use the word of God in your prayer life.

Eph 6: 13-17 – “Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.

Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.

In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

If you are plagued by nightmares, restless nights sleeping and a sense of uneasiness in your bedroom, pray this before going to bed each night.

Father God, I ask that you would send warrior angels at the bedpost of my bed. (Alternatively, the corners of your bed if you don’t have a bedpost) and I declare that YOU are the Lord of my nights.

Praying for Your Family

Daily pray:

1. Father God, please place a barrier of protection around each one of my children now and Lord Jesus, I ask that you would come today, at any time necessary, to deal with any and all spirit beings which might attempt to harass my children/spouse.

2. Pray Ephesians 6 over your children and spouse. Psalm 91 is a beautiful psalm to pray over your children nightly as they go to sleep.

Another Prayer for Protection for Christians

This prayer was sent to me several years ago, I am not sure of its original author.

Dear Heavenly Father, I pray this prayer in the power of the Holy Spirit.

In the name of Jesus Christ, I bind, rebuke and bring to no effect, all division, discord, disunity, strife, anger, wrath, murder, criticism, condemnation, pride, envy, jealousy, gossip, slander, evil speaking, complaining, lying, false teaching, false gifts, false manifestations, lying signs and wonders, poverty, fear of lack, fear spirits, murmuring spirits, hindering spirits, retaliatory spirits, deceiving spirits, religious spirits, occult spirits, witchcraft spirits, and spirits of antichrist

I bind all curses that have been spoken against me. I bless those who curse me, and pray blessings on those who despitefully use me.

I am God’s child. I resist the devil. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. I put on the whole armor of God. I take authority over this day, in Jesus’ name. Let it be prosperous for me, let me walk in your love, Lord. The Holy Spirit leads and guides me today, I discern between the righteous and the wicked.

I take authority over Satan and all his demons, and those people who are influenced by them. I declare Satan is under my feet and remain there all day. I am the righteous of God in Christ Jesus.

I am God’s property. Satan you are bound from my family, my mind, my body, my home, and my finances.

I confess that I am healed and whole. I flourish, I am long lived, stable, durable, incorruptible, fruitful, virtuous, full of peace, patience and love.

Whatsoever I set my hand to do shall prosper, for God supplies all my needs. I have all authority over Satan, all demons, and beasts of the field. God, I pray for the ministry that you have for me.

Anoint me, God, for all you have called me to do for you.

I call forth divine appointments, open doors of opportunity, God ordained encounters and ministry positions. I claim a hedge of protection around myself, spouse and children throughout this day and night.

I ask you, God, in the name of Jesus to dispatch angels to surround me, my spouse and my children today, and to put them throughout my house and around our cars, souls and bodies. I ask angels to protect my house from any intrusion and to protect me and my family from any harmful demonic or other physical or mental attacks.

I ask this prayer in the name of Jesus AMEN.

This inspirational confession of faith and prayer was written by Patrick (ca. 377)
Patrick was originally brought to Ireland as a slave. Upon receiving his freedom, Patrick left the country. The Lord called him back several years later, with the mandate to bring the gospel to Ireland. Patrick and a small band of believers transformed Ireland from a Pagan nation into a Christian nation.

Hedge of Protection Prayer

Righteousness breastplate – guard our hearts (emotions) from fear, guilt, shame, rejection, etc.  All these characteristics is not the characteristics of God but are the characteristics of Satan’s kingdom.  It protects us from the accusations of Satan. Philippians 3:9

The Gospel of Peace, shod our feet with the gospel of peace to stand – salvation, Romans 1:1 ““17.  It is knowing our assurance and eternity through salvation through Jesus Christ and not giving into doubt or unbelief.

Faith, Shield, God can protect us from every “fiery dart” that Satan can throw at us (false doctrine, lusts of the flesh).  Faith comes through the Word of God.

Salvation, Helmet – the “hope” that salvation provides and protects our minds against things accusations, fear, etc.  Fiery darts come into our minds as thoughts opposing God’s truth as lies.  2 Cor. 10:5 says to cast down those thoughts.

Word of God, Sword of the Spirit, is our “offensive” weapon that Christians must use by speaking the Word of God.  It cuts the enemy when we quote the Word of God. Hebrews 4:12.  God’s word is truth John 1 says Jesus is the Word.  The word cuts into the soul and spirit of a person.

Can We Loose that Hedge of Protection?  Spiritual Bondage

Yes, in Ecclesiastes 10:8 He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him.  Sin, puts holes in our hedge for the enemy to bit.

Sin punches a hole in the hedge of protection, it is an open door to the enemy and we can get bitten by serpents (evil spirits).  The enemy wants to steal your possessions, peace, joy, your health, your emotions, etc.  Not only that, steal your children, etc.

  The wages of sin is death especially to those into habitual sin according to Galatians 5:21 will not see the Kingdom of God.

Psalms 80:12-13 Why hast thou then broken down her hedges, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her? The boar the wood doth waste it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour it.

Lamentations 3:7 He hath hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy.

Isaiah 5:5 And now go to; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; and break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down:

When there is a breach in our hedge, the enemy can come at us with emotional, spiritual attacks as well as physical attacks (sickness and disease).

God knew no man could be perfect and he sent His son to not only redeem us but when we do fall short, go to the Son for forgiveness of sin. He is our redeemer.

Before a Person Prays A Hedge of Protection Prayer for Spiritual Freedom

First, It is important, during morning prayer, to check your heart for any breaches.  For example, did you fall into gossip, accusation, used a curse word, go into bitterness, etc.  Take the time to ask the Lord’s forgiveness for your sins to close the breaches so that the enemy cannot attack you rightly.

Second, put on the Whole Armor of God daily.

Third, pray a hedge of protection around yourself, possessions, etc.  Ps. 91.  Remember the enemy wants to kill, steal and destroy.

Fourth, watch your thoughts and watch your reactions towards accusers, etc.

Closing Breaches and Hedges – Our Hedge of Protection Prayser

I close up any breach in my life that would give Satan and

demons access in the name of Jesus (Eccles. 10:8).

I pray for every broken hedge in my life to be restored in the name of Jesus (Eccles. 10:8).

I stand in the gap and make up the hedge (Ezek. 22:30).

I repent and receive forgiveness for any sin that has opened the

door for any spirit to enter and operate in my life (Eph. 4:27).

I am a rebuilder of the wall and a repairer of the breach (Isa. 58:12).

I renounce all crooked speech that would cause a breach in the name of Jesus (Prov. 15:4).

Bind up all my breaches, O Lord (Isa. 30:26).

Let every breach be stopped in the name of Jesus (Neh. 4:7).

Let my walls be salvation and my gates praise (Isa. 60:18).

I pray for a hedge of protection around my mind, body, finances, possessions, and family in the name of Jesus.

Thank you for visiting Scriptural Daily Prayer for Protection.  To fully understand the principles of praying scripturally, please read the teaching “Why Pray Scripture?” .

Hearing God: As it is rare to hear an audible voice from God, one of the ways God will speak to us is through His written Word and a small still voice inside us.

When certain verses capture your attention more than others, meditate and incorporate those into your personal daily prayer life.

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty whose power no foe can withstand. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I confidently trust!For then God will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.

Then He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings shall you trust and find refuge: His truth and His faithfulness are a shield and a buckler.

You shall not be afraid of the terror of the night, nor of the arrow (the evil plots and slanders of the wicked) that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor of the destruction and sudden death that surprise and lay waste at noonday.A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you.

Only a spectator shall you be (yourself inaccessible in the secret place of the Most High) as you witness the reward of the wicked.Because you have made the Lord your refuge, and the Most High you dwelling place, there shall no evil befall you, nor any plague or calamity come near your tent.

Call on me and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. Jeremiah 3:33

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having your loins gird abut with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the firey darts of the wicked.

And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. Ephesians 6:10-18

Scriptural Daily Prayer for Protection

Dear Lord, we commit this day unto You, that You would establish it and cause my thoughts to become agreeable with Your will. I thank you for Your promises in Psalm 91. By Your grace and through the faith of Jesus Christ, I receive them for myself and my family. Thank You, that You watch over Your word to perform it.

I choose to dwell in the secret place of the Most High so that I would remain stable and fixed under Your wings. I ask that You make that a revelation in my life. Thank you that I can draw closer to You each day through my redeemer Jesus and Your written Word which brings stability and strength.

You are my refuge and my fortress and I trust You. For You deliver me from the traps of the enemy and deadly sickness. You give me wisdom and cover me with Your grace and I find my refuge in Your unfailing love. Your truth and faithfulness protect and amaze me.

Because You live in me, I will tread on the enemy who attacks me–for greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. You are with me in trouble and You deliver me– and You even honor me with Your favor.

We praise You, Lord.

Thank You Jesus that You died to give us forgiveness for our sins through Your blood and healing by the gouged bloody stripes on Your back. Your grace extended to us is unending. You alone are our provider and You are almighty and greatly to be praised.

Thank you that You are at work within me causing me to desire and to do Your will. Thank you that You are producing the fruit of the spirit in my life making me more You, taking me to repentance and refining me, changing my heart to serve and honor You in my thoughts and deeds. Lord, forgive me today for……

Lord, Help me to love others with the love You have given me and to extend the grace You have extended to me.

Because I trust You, I will not be afraid of terrible things that happen, of evil plots against my nation or myself. I won’t be afraid of what people may say about me. You have given me favor and You are my vindicator. I can rest in You. Your grace is so sufficient.

Because of You, I don’t have to be afraid of sickness, or pestilence, or sudden destructions or deaths. As I dwell in Your secret place, I can even be a spectator as the world falls around me because You are my refuge and dwelling place.

I thank you that no evil will befall me or my family, and no plague or calamity will come near our home for You have given your angels charge over us to preserve us in all our ways. They will bear us up on their hands and protect us.

I will put on Your armor every day—the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness and the helmet of salvation. I will shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace. I will yield the sword, which is Your word. And above all, I will take up the shield of faith which protects me from the firey darts of the enemy. I will pray in the Spirit and pray for others.
