Prayer For Those That Are Facing Retirement

A Farewell Retirement Speech for YOUR retirement farewell

Prayer For Those That Are Facing Retirement

A farewell retirement speech is hard work! How do you sum up all your years and experiences at work in just a few words? The following suggestions for structuring your speech should help you, and there are short examples at the end of this page.

A good method for a retirement speech is to start with a line “What will stand out in my heart and mind as I look back at the past X years of working for X?”Then describe with affection some of the characters that you have worked with, or some good moments or memories.

You could also describe some of the changes that have occurred in the industry or business, with the line “When I started in business…” – even describing how things were called different names etc, and ending with the funny line “And remember – change is inevitable – except from vending machines”.You could then bring it forward in time to how things are today.

Catch phrases “it seemed a good idea at the time” for a number of funny things that you did, which were mistakes others can learn from.

Another angle is to describe a project that you are passionate about, and its successes while thanking everyone that was part of it.  That way you are mentioning your legacy but also encouraging others to look after it now that you are going, as well as ensuring those who deserve credit are getting more buy-in to the project – see the example below for this.

Try not to give advice – but if you do, make it general and stick to just one point.

If you can't add personality, keep it safe with best wishes for everyone!

Does retirement feel a looming road of emptiness? Have some therapy and tips for your sad goodbye.

Retirement speech 1:

Hello Everyone,

As most of you know, today is my last day at the company. I will be riding off into the proverbial sunset to ultimately throw my energies into who-knows-what.

In the short term I will be focusing on enjoying my family, providing Anne with support whilst she grows her own business, and involving myself in the renovation project of our home.Importantly, the decision to leave has been entirely of my own making.

The time is simply right for me to, at least temporarily, “hang up my boots, turn the camp oven upside down and pack away the prospecting gear”. To all of the wonderful people whom I have had the opportunity to work with over the past almost 10 years – Thank You.

The times shared, friendships forged and the incredible successes which we have enjoyed have been an extraordinary part of my life.
I am very proud of what we have achieved and they have been times I will never forget.

I would to encourage you all to continue to value and support diversity in our workplace and community. Diversity is something special. It is something very personal to us all, while at the same time it is something we all share. Diversity can enhance and support all our business decisions.

It is something to be valued and cherished.  I’d to take this opportunity to thank every member of Human Resources and Aboriginal Liaison departments.

With the support of our amazing supervisors, liaison officers, trainers, and the wider community, we have built our program into something extraordinary, the s of which is rarely seen in any workplace outside metropolitan areas, if anywhere at all.

The quality of our program is a testament to countless hours of hard work, collaboration, inspiration, and fun. It’s the result of the support willingly given by all stakeholders in our amazing company. We should all be incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved.

As a good mate said during a chat recently, “everything has a beginning and an end”. The timing to end this chapter seems about as right as it could be.I wish all of you every success for the future.

Stay safe and maintain the passion!

Spice up your farewell speech with some

funny retirement quotes!

Retirement speech 2:

Thank you everyone for being here,

I truly appreciate seeing you all because I can say thank you to your faces.

I've been here for X years, at other companies for another X years so if my maths is correct that makes XX years in the industry.  I can only say that in my time as a worker in the [industry] I have always found there is more to learn and that the moment anyone thinks they know it all, there is a humbling experience just around the corner.   now, for me, seeing everyone here.

I can also say that for everyone I have mentored, helped or given advice to, I have also learned from.  Maybe you don't know what I've learned from you – sometimes it has just been that your energy has renewed my own interest or reignited my own passion.

Maybe you have shown me that I don't know anything about admin (ahem, Ramona) and that I am grateful YOU do [pointed look at Ramona]; maybe you have shown me different values to adopt for different situations or given me a different perspective that has been personally helpful.

So don't ever feel that you don't belong wherever you are, you absolutely deserve to be here, and you just haven't realised what you offer.

Coming here every day has always been interesting, and I can say that working in the industry in general has been an adventure.  So my moving on is really just creating space for someone else to have a turn.

And good luck to that person… [Raise eyebrows, because it has been a hair-raising adventure!]  …

working for that guy! [Waggle your thumb, hitch-hike style, over to your boss who can take a joke, or even better, at Ramona in admin who has been riding you for the past X years.

If you work in admin, point to someone in finance and make the earlier joke about Ramona about someone in finance instead.  Basically your real boss is the company dragon or gatekeeper].

I hope everyone enjoys their work as much as I have and I wish you all good fortune in your careers!

Now before I finish, I would to present Ramona with a present which I call The Enforcer [give Ramona an engraved wooden spoon or club] for all her efforts with me over the years.

Let's all say thank you to Ramona [and on that note, your speech is over with all the attention now on Ramona].

10 Best Prayers for Tithes and Offerings

Prayer For Those That Are Facing Retirement

Many offertory prayers include an invitation to the offering. Whether you are rejoicing in the resurrection of the Lord or giving support to your local church, here is a look at some great prayers for tithes and offerings.

Prayer #1 – Give with Gladness and Sincerity

Father in Heaven, We thank You today for Your blessings that you bestow upon us all. Father, I pray for our congregation today. Lord, may we all give with gladness and sincerity.

Father, no one ever gives a present to someone with reluctance and we should never give You what already belongs to You with reluctance either. Bless these tithes and offerings this day. We love You, Father!

Amen

Prayer #2 – Bless these Tithes and Offerings

O Lord, We thank You for Your steadfast love and mercy on us. Father, we believe that every word in the Bible was breathed out by You (2 Tim 3:16), and we believe Your promise that You will bless us when we are obedient to Your Word.

And so, without hesitation, we gladly give to You what is Yours. Bless these tithes and offerings, Father. We love You, Lord!

Amen

Prayer #3 – Give Because We Love You

We thank You for bringing us all to Your house safely today and we are so blessed by Your presence here today. Thank You for Your love and mercy on us, Father. Father, we believe in the Book of Proverbs and I pray that everyone here will look into their hearts and act in obedience to Your Word.

May we give not to become richer, though, may we give because we simply love You! Accept these tithes and offerings today. We love You, Lord!

Amen

Prayer #4 – We Honor You with Our Wealth

We praise Your Almighty Name! You have blessed our nation with immense wealth and opportunity. Lord, You have commanded us to honor You with our wealth, and I pray that You will be honored greatly this day as we give to You what is already Yours. Bless these cheerful givers and bless the tithes and offerings that they give. We love You!

Amen

Prayer #5 – Giving in Obedience

O Lord, There are some of us here today that didn’t want to come here. There are some of us today that will give to the offering with bitter hearts. Father, I pray You will soften the hearts of those who are worried about giving You their money instead of spending it on themselves.

Father, I pray that You will bless all who give today and show them Your love in a mighty way because of their obedience. Bless these tithes and offerings, Father. We love You!

Amen

Prayer #6 – The Tithe is Yours

Father, We come to Your throne with humble hearts as we are so thankful for the blessings You give us daily. Lord, We believe in the Book of Leviticus. Father, I pray that as we give

You our offerings and tithes this morning that we all will think about the fact that the tithe is Yours. It belongs to You. May we never withhold what is Yours. Please accept these offerings and tithes with gladness, Lord. We Love You!

Amen

Prayer #7 – We Give You What is Already Yours

Dear Lord, We thank You for another chance for us to meet together in Your house to worship You. Father, we believe in the Book of 1 Corinthians and I pray that all offerings given today are love.

We experience Your blessings every day and Your blessings are always given to us freely and with ultimate love. Father, You loved us all of the way to the cross! May we love You enough to give You what is already Yours. Bless these tithes and offerings today. We love you!

Amen

Prayer #8 – Take It and Use It for Your Kingdom

Lord, we thank for Your faithfulness. Thank you that we can always trust in You. You are an abundant God and Your great mercy you have given us so much.

We give you this offering today. With it we worship You and give our whole selves to You. Please now take it and use it for Your kingdom and Your glory. Extend and multiple its reach and influence we pray. May it be a great blessing to many.

We ask all this in the powerful name of Jesus.

Amen.

Prayer #9 – Sanctify Every Beat of My Heart

O my God ! I offer Thee all my actions of this day for the intentions and for the glory of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I desire to sanctify every beat of my heart, my every thought, my simplest works, by uniting them to Its infinite merits ; and I wish to make reparation for my sins by casting them into the furnace of Its Merciful Love.

O my God! I ask thee for myself and for those whom I hold dear, the grace to fulfill perfectly Thy Holy Will, to accept for love of Thee the joys and sorrows of this passing life, so that we may one day be united together in Heaven for all Eternity.

Amen.

Prayer #10 – Thank You for Meeting My Financial Needs

Heavenly Father, thank you for your many blessings and I thank you that as I give tithes and offerings, I am believing the Lord for:

Jobs and better jobs, raises and bonuses, benefits, sales and commissions, favorable settlements, estates and inheritances, interest and income, rebates and returns, discounts and dividends, checks in the mail, gifts and surprises, finding money, bills decreased and bills paid off, blessings and increase.

Thank you Lord for meeting my financial needs that I may have more than enough to give into the kingdom of God and promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Raise your hand and say, “It’s true, it’s for me, and I’m a giver. God has given to me and I am not limited by the world’s economy. Heaven’s economy is mine.”

Thank you Lord for your many blessings. They come in from every direction and I bless the name of the Lord Jesus who made it possible for me to return to what God intended me to be; full of authority through His name and very blessed.

Thank you Lord, in Jesus’ name.
Amen

Bible Verses to Open your Prayer on Tithes and Offerings

GEN. 14:19–20
And he blessed him and said, “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth; and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand!”

And Abram gave him a tenth of everything.

LEV. 27:30–34
Every tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the trees, is the Lord’s; it is holy to the Lord. If a man wishes to redeem some of his tithe, he shall add a fifth to it.

And every tithe of herds and flocks, every tenth animal of all that pass under the herdsman’s staff, shall be holy to the Lord.

One shall not differentiate between good or bad, neither shall he make a substitute for it; and if he does substitute for it, then both it and the substitute shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.”

DEUT. 12:5–6
But you shall seek the place that the Lord your God will choose all your tribes to put his name and make his habitation there. There you shall go, and there you shall bring your burnt offerings and your sacrifices, your tithes and the contribution that you present, your vow offerings, your freewill offerings, and the firstborn of your herd and of your flock.

2 CHRON. 31:4–5
And he commanded the people who lived in Jerusalem to give the portion due to the priests and the Levites, that they might give themselves to the Law of the Lord.

As soon as the command was spread abroad, the people of Israel gave in abundance the firstfruits of grain, wine, oil, honey, and of all the produce of the field.

And they brought in abundantly the tithe of everything.

MARK 12:41–44
And he sat down opposite the treasury and watched the people putting money into the offering box. Many rich people put in large sums. And a poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which make a penny.

And he called his disciples to him and said to them, “Truly, I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the offering box.

For they all contributed their abundance, but she her poverty has put in everything she had, all she had to live on.”

Here is a look at the truth about tithing according to the scripture Malachi 3:10. Presented by Grace Bible Church.

Who Should We Pray For

2 Corinthians 1:11 You also must help us by prayer, so that many will give thanks on our behalf for the blessing granted us through the prayers of many.

1 Timothy 2:1-2 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.

James 5:13-14 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.

Should Christians save for retirement?

Prayer For Those That Are Facing Retirement

Over the last couple of years, my thoughts on retirement have changed a bit. A few years ago, my goal was to retire early and live the easy life. As I have grown in my walk with God, I have found that (my old self-indulgent idea of) retirement doesn’t seem to be mentioned in the Bible.

Biblical retirement doesn’t mean we should be chopping logs 10 hours a day when we are 85, but that God has us down here for a purpose and a specific amount of time.

The truth is that God’s plan for us will keep us busy until we die. I don’t think that necessarily means employment until our last breath, but for some, it very well could. If His plan is being fulfilled in our lives via our occupation, who are we to say when we are finished?

For those of us who are in a financial position to retire from our day jobs, hopefully, that means that we can use those extra hours each day to serve the Lord in a greater capacity.

To save or not to save for retirement

Even though my mind has changed about retirement, I have not stopped saving in my retirement accounts. Regardless of whether or not I am employed full time when I am 70, why not be prepared financially?

To me, it seems a much better idea to have cash in the bank, so that I can be free to do whatever God has for me to do.

The worst case scenario is that I have a big chunk of cash that has been earning interest for decades that I can give away to bless someone. To me, saving for retirement seems a no-brainer.

Bible verses about retirement and resting

Although there are several verses in the Bible about money, the Bible doesn’t seem to have specific verses referring to retirement. However, it does point out the importance of rest. God, our creator, understands the value of rest and relaxation. That, of course, is why He created Sundays!

To add to that…

Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.  Mark 6:31

As far as my previous plans for retirement – the below passage from Luke pretty well summed up my plans. Needless to say, I am glad God showed me the error of my ways…

And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man produced a good crop. He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’

“Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.” ‘

“But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’

“This is how it will be with anyone who stores up things for himself but is not rich toward God.”  Luke 12:16-21

The thing I have come to realize is that God created us to be in motion. You can use our muscles as an example. If they are not getting pushed, they become weaker. They grow only when they are stretched beyond comfort. Our brains function the same way. They need to be pushed in order to grow and when all the pressure is eliminated they begin to atrophy.

This is why work is so beneficial for us. While it is difficult, it makes rest that much more pleasurable.

The sleep of a laborer is sweet, whether he eats little or much, but the abundance of a rich man permits him no sleep.  Eccl 5:12

It all comes back to stewardship

The bottom line with the whole question of whether not Christians should save for retirement comes down to the fact that as stewards we have a responsibility to do the best with what we have been given.

Saving with retirement accounts 401ks or IRAs is a great way to multiply the talents that we have been given. But, it is not the only way. Every person is going to have to give an account of their stewardship to God, so whatever that means for you individually is what you need to do.

112 Best Retirement Messages, Wishes and Quotes

Prayer For Those That Are Facing Retirement

Retirement is something everyone must experience in life someday, retirements are worth celebrating same way we celebrate other events.

Most times retirements come with double feeling, first there is this bad feeling that you’re about to leave the job you have been doing for long and also the good feeling that at least you have to rest from the day to day struggles.

One of the things that retirees will always cherish are the good will messages from family and friends.

You’ll agree with me that even with great intentions and all the efforts in the world, retirement messages can sometimes be difficult to write for a co-worker. If you have to remain in the workplace yourself and someone you were working with is now moving on, you might realise that sometimes there’s this feeling of envy that occurs when someone retires.

Don’t let that ugly feeling of envy prevent you from wishing a retiree a happy retirement. Keep in mind all the time they invested at work to achieve this goal. It’s now time for them to move on, one day, it’ll be your time.

The question now is “How do you wish your co-worker a wonderful retirement and let him or her know how much they will be missed”?
