How can followers of Christ best pray for Muslims?

Every Muslim is unique and wonderful in God's eyes. Followers of Jesus Christ should be careful not to generalize or presume that all Muslims are the same. Here are some important issues in understanding how to pray more effectively.

Every Muslim is someone whom God loves. Unfortunately, some Christians make the mistake of not praying for Muslims because of their own prejudices or fears.

Let us begin in prayer by asking God to give us a heart filled with love and compassion towards Muslims.
We also need to pray in faith and confidence that God will hear us and will move powerfully in answer to our prayers of love and compassion (John 14:12-14).

Muslims believe in the uniqueness of an all powerful and supreme Allah. Similar to Christians and Jews, Muslims believe that Allah is creative and eternal. Muslims also believe that Allah is unknowable and that it is impossible to ever really know him or have a relationship with him as a personal saviour. According to Islam, Allah holds himself apart from mankind.

When praying for Muslims, pray that they will have a full revelation of the true God and His loving character (Hebrews 8:8-9).

The Muslim worldview is strongly influenced by an awareness of the supernatural and the presence of good and evil spirits known as jinn. Jinn are greatly feared and are often thought to be responsible for illnesses and misfortune.

Superstitions control many aspects of a Muslim's everyday life and often result in them living in constant fear.

This fear reveals a heart cry and desperate need that can only be met in the person and authority of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Pray against the fear that influences many Muslims (1 John 4:18).

Galatians 4:22-25 tells us that Ishmael was born as a result of works resulting in slavery. Islam means submission, and a Muslim understands that he is a servant of Allah. While this is also a Biblical aspect of our relationship with God, it is incomplete. As Christians, through Jesus, we know that we move from being servants to becoming sons and daughters.

Pray that Muslims will also understand that God desires for everyone to know Him as children and not as slaves (Galatians 4:7, Matthew 18:3).

Islam teaches that a person must do enough good deeds to outweigh the bad deeds in order to make it to paradise. Even then, there is no guarantee for a Muslim of salvation. As a result of this belief, it is difficult for many Muslims to fully understand the basis of forgiveness of sins. It is also difficult for Muslims to understand repentance.

Never underestimate the work of the Holy Spirit as you pray for Muslims. Allow God to teach you how to pray and to share His heart with you concerning them.

Vast numbers of Muslims have come to Christ as a result of supernatural encounters. Many have dreams and visions of Jesus. It is only God who can open blind eyes and soften hearts.

Only God can bring true conviction of sin and create new life (Romans 8:26, John 16:8).

I come to You Lord to ask for a successful surgery, and quick healing for someone I love deeply. As the scriptures say, in Your hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.

Hold my loved one and I in Your healing hands, and breath life into our bones. I ask that you give the surgeon a steady hand, and a sound mind from beginning to end.

I trust you in all ways, my Lord and Savior.

Prayer for Successful Testing and Exams

Lord Jesus, You know that I am very anxious about the tests and exams that I have to face very soon, and ask that You would calm my anxious, clouded thoughts. Please calm these nerves that I have, and let me rest in You always.

I pray that as I enter the exam, that You will fill my heart with perfect peace that only comes from You. Please also give me clarity of thought, and prompt my mind to remember all the things that I have studied.

Give me the wisdom and the ability to transfer my thoughts to paper. It’s in Your precious name I pray, amen.

Answered Success Prayer for Passing Exam from Hazen

On December 28, 2016 I sent a prayer petition for my NCLEX RN exam, which was scheduled on January 4, 2017. I had my prayer request.

A few days ago, I found out that I passed my exam and I am officially a Registered Nurse! This truly is an answered prayer and I would to take this opportunity to thank everyone who prayed for me and with me.

The power of your prayers and well wishes were so helpful because during my exam, I can't explain why, but I was so calm and at peace. A few weeks ago it was a different story, I was anxious and just so full of doubt about passing.

But with your help through prayers, I had renewed strength and every time I see that someone is praying for me, my confidence grows stronger. All the things that I asked for in my prayer petition came true and it was then, during my exam, that I was experiencing the power of God.

I know Divine intervention is the reason why I was able to answer my exam questions and it was that same reason why I passed my exam. My nursing license is indeed a gift from God and I would use this gift righteously to extend help to those who need it. So thank you everyone for your prayers! Your prayers and God's mercy and love made me a Registered Nurse. This really truly was a miraculous gift sent from up above.

Prayer for Success in Selling a Home

Father, I know that You are interested in every single area of our lives, and we find that we need to sell our house. At this time, we are placing this need into Your hands, knowing that You have told us to cast ALL our cares upon You.

Lord, we thank You for providing us with this home we currently reside in, but You also know the need to sell our home at this point in time, and we want to place the entire selling process into Your hands, praying that You would be with us to guide during the entire sale. We also ask that you help us find a new home, and to bring it swiftly into our lives as You see fit.

Lord, You also know who it is that needs to move into this house and Lord, we are trusting You to guide the right buyers to see it. We pray that at the right time they may be able to purchase our home as well.

Lord into Your hands we commit our lives and our future in Jesus name, Amen.

Prayer for Success In Trying Times

Father I have come to a trying time in my life, and I am not sure which direction to go. I know that if I seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, then I will be walking in Your best way for my life, forever and always.

Help me Lord to be wise in the decisions I make at this junction, where various doors have seemed to close behind me. Lead me Lord in the direction that You would have me go day in, and day out. Lord I want my life to count, and I want to be successful in making a difference.

Take my life Lord, and at this cross-roads I ask that You rearrange my direction as best seems for to.
