Prayer For My Girlfriend’s Depression

5 Prayers For Help With Depression

Prayer For My Girlfriend’s Depression

My heart goes out to anyone who is suffering from depression short-term or long-term. It is overpowering at times and can even incapacitate you. It is such a strong force that takes a huge toll on the body. It makes you not want to get bed. It makes you incapable of doing normal activities.

It is a heavy burden for the mind. I want you to know that if you are suffering from depression that God loves you. He knows what you are going through. I know that I still suffer from this myself when I have to give my kids to my ex-wife.

I never wanted the divorce I was handed and I know my kids certainly didn’t either. I hope and pray that these prayers on depression can be a source of strength for you. I can honestly say I know how it feels and if you have any prayer requests, please feel free to leave them in the comments below.

I will pray for each and every single one of you that needs it.

Anticipating the Hurt

Father,

I can’t stop thinking about the fact that I only have a couple hours left before I give my kids back to their mommy. This is devastating me, Lord. I can feel depression trying to take its hold on me. Father I hate feeling this! I wish I had my children every day. Lord, I know that when they leave I am going to cry. I always get sad, Father.

Please wrap your arms around me and hold me through the heartache that is coming. I am so down right now. Lord, you have the power to lift this depression off of me and I pray that if it is your will that you would. If not, I know that every trial has a purpose and I want to learn from this if it lingers on.

You are sovereign and I trust You completely with my own well-being. I love You, Father. Amen

Those That Go Before Us

“I am relying completely on Your strength right now because I have none. I love You, Lord.”

Oh Lord in Heaven,

My heart is grieving! I was not ready for my dad to leave Earth yet. I know that You are not surprised by his passing and I also know that my dad is with You right now. I miss him, Father. He talked with me about your Holy Word. He showed me things that men should learn. He walked beside me when I was struggling.

He showcased a father’s love that was molded after Your precepts. My dad’s passing is taking its toll on me, Lord. Please walk beside me as I continue to grieve, Father. I am excited that he is with You, but I do miss him dearly now that he is not with me. Give me strength to get bed every morning and do the things that I am called to do.

I am relying completely on Your strength right now because I have none. I love You, Lord. Amen

I Feel Job

Gracious Father,

You know the turmoil that is going on in my heart, mind and soul right now. My friends are casting me away because of my convictions. They say that I need to be silent when it comes to speaking my mind on “touchy” subjects abortion.

Well, who is going to stand for the unborn? They cannot speak for themselves! My “friends” are uncomfortable with my stance on homosexuality. Lord, You say it is wrong and I am standing with You on this.

Lord, where are the men and women of faith? I am so distraught! I need core Christian friendships! I want to have those close bonds Naomi and Ruth did, or David and Jonathon did.

I feel so alone, Job did as his “friends” berated and accused him of being a sinner over and over again! Lord, please bring me some real friendships that will last into Glory! I am so thankful for Your Son’s precious blood that was shed for me! I love You! Amen

The Innocent

Dear Lord,

I am at my wits end with being depressed over the injustice of this world. So many things are wrong with this world. Our brave men and women MIA are either passed away or being tortured every day. People are infecting others with HIV because of hatred.

My own children are being bullied in school and the teachers don’t even notice! My employer is finding reasons to lay people off that they don’t . This list goes on and on! I am not at peace right now, Father. I pray that You will take this overpowering depression off of me, Lord.

It is consuming my energy, both physically and mentally. This is a struggle that I cannot win without You, Father. Please carry me through these difficult times. I pray for Your peace that passes all understanding. That is true medicine for depression. I thank You for Your never-ending patience with me, Lord.

Be with me as I encounter these dark times daily. May Your will be done in all of this. Amen

Past Afflictions

Father in Heaven,

I have tried and tried to overcome the past transgressions done to me by people in my past. I thought my step dad loved me, but clearly his love was misguided and my innocence was taken. I can’t move past this! Father, I feel anger raging inside towards him.

I want to forgive him, but the scenes keep repeating in my mind. How do I move past this? I am so depressed over my step dad. He took from me what should have been given freely to my spouse on our wedding night. I feel dead inside.

I want to feel alive again, Lord! I know You have the power to raise the dead to life physically, and I know You can do the same spiritually. I believe Psalm 37:4, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” I know it is Your desire to be my Father and for me to be Your child.

I beg of You, Lord! Please draw me so close to You that the past fades away. “You are beautiful beyond description. Too marvelous for words. Too wonderful for comprehension. nothing ever seen or heard.

Who can grasp Your infinite wisdom? Who can fathom the depth of Your love?” (I Stand In Awe, Mark Altrogge) I love You, Father! Please take this depression from me. Open my eyes that I may move past this and forgive my step dad. I praise Your name, Lord! Amen

Conclusion

Depression is a heavy burden. The Psalmist writes, “Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you.” (Psalm 55:22a) As hard as it is some days, give your burdens to God and let Him deal with them. Trust in His healing hand to mend your broken heart. God is willing and able to do so. Call upon Him no matter how dark the storm is that you are in.

You don’t want to travel through it alone. As I said above, if you need prayer for depression, please feel free to respond in the comments and I will pray for each and every one of you. I have experienced depression (and still do sometimes) first hand.

You can be sure you have an advocate praying for you at the throne of the Most High God! God bless you as you live a life worthy of the calling!

Great Ideas to Help Defeat Depression

This idea comes from a woman living in Georgia.

She had fought depression for several months and the main strategy she found to defeat depression was reading Psalms 145 – 150 every day. When she had read them for several days,

things begin to shift.

Another Idea

Great Ideas to Help Defeat Depression

The following idea comes from a friend of Inspirational-Prayers.

She was contemplating asking her doctor for some kind of medication for

depression. One of her friends suggested taking two L-Tryptophan and

one L-Tyrosine each day. (You get them at a health food store.)

The woman checked with her doctor before trying them.

When she tried them, her depression went away.

Be sure to consult your doctor before taking anything for depression.

Note that some medications may not react well with other

over-the-counter or health food medications.

Do adequate research and get your doctor's recommendation.

A Prayer for My Daughter

Prayer For My Girlfriend’s Depression

by William Butler Yeats

Once more the storm is howling, and half hidUnder this cradle-hood and coverlidMy child sleeps on. There is no obstacleBut Gregory’s wood and one bare hillWhereby the haystack- and roof-leveling wind.Bred on the Atlantic, can be stayed; And for an hour I have walked and prayed

Because of the great gloom that is in my mind.

I have walked and prayed for this young child an hourAnd heard the sea-wind scream upon the tower,And under the arches of the bridge, and screamIn the elms above the flooded stream;Imagining in excited reverieThat the future years had come,Dancing to a frenzied drum,

the murderous innocence of the sea.

May she be granted beauty and yet notBeauty to make a stranger’s eye distraught,Or hers before a looking-glass, for such,Being made beautiful overmuch,Consider beauty a sufficient end,Lose natural kindness and maybeThe heart-revealing intimacy

That chooses right, and never find a friend.

Helen being chosen found life flat and dullAnd later had much trouble from a fool,While that great Queen, that rose the spray,Being fatherless could have her wayYet chose a bandy-legged smith for man. It’s certain that fine women eatA crazy salad with their meat

Whereby the Horn of Plenty is undone.

In courtesy I’d have her chiefly learned;Hearts are not had as a gift but hearts are earnedBy those that are not entirely beautiful;Yet many, that have played the foolFor beauty’s very self, has charm made wise,And many a poor man that has roved,Loved and thought himself beloved,

From a glad kindness cannot take his eyes.

May she become a flourishing hidden treeThat all her thoughts may the linnet be,And have no business but dispensing roundTheir magnanimities of sound,Nor but in merriment begin a chase,Nor but in merriment a quarrel.O may she live some green laurel

Rooted in one dear perpetual place.

My mind, because the minds that I have loved,The sort of beauty that I have approved,Prosper but little, has dried up of late,Yet knows that to be choked with hateMay well be of all evil chances chief. If there’s no hatred in a mindAssault and battery of the wind

Can never tear the linnet from the leaf.

An intellectual hatred is the worst,So let her think opinions are accursed.Have I not seen the loveliest woman born the mouth of Plenty’s horn,Because of her opinionated mindBarter that horn and every goodBy quiet natures understood

For an old bellows full of angry wind?

Considering that, all hatred driven hence,The soul recovers radical innocenceAnd learns at last that it is self-delighting,Self-appeasing, self-affrighting,And that its own sweet will is Heaven’s will; She can, though every face should scowlAnd every windy quarter howl

Or every bellows burst, be happy still.

And may her bridegroom bring her to a houseWhere all’s accustomed, ceremonious; For arrogance and hatred are the waresPeddled in the thoroughfares. How but in custom and in ceremonyAre innocence and beauty born?Ceremony’s a name for the rich horn,

And custom for the spreading laurel tree.

Literary Analysis

“A Prayer for My Daughter” is a reflection of the poet’s love for his daughter. It is also about surviving the turmoil of the contemporary world, where passions have been separated from reason. The setting of the poem is unspecified. The speaker is the poet himself talking to his daughter. The tone is gloomy, precarious, and frightening, as well as didactic.

The poem opens with a description of the speaker praying for his innocent infant daughter, Anne, lying in the middle of a storm “howling, and half hid.” The poet demonstrates his feelings through the use of symbols of weather.

The newborn baby girl is sleeping “Under this cradle-hood and coverlid,” implying the innocence and vulnerability of Anne. Though the external world is violent, she is protected from it.

The storm is a metaphor for the Irish people’s struggle for their independence, which was an uncertain political situation in Yeats’s day. He further presents the situation of the storm with “roof-leveling wind”, representing turbulence, in the midst of which the poet has “walked and prayed for this young child an hour.

” Intense and threatening forces surround her a “flooded stream.” The poet symbolizes the sea thus: “ the murderous innocence of the sea.” Despite his apprehensions for his child in this turbulent world, he is hopeful for her.

The poet continues on to comment on his hopes for her beauty:“May she be granted beauty and yet not.” His vacillation is that beauty in women sometimes brings disasters. For example, some such people have a difficult time choosing the right person as a life partner, and neither they can “find a friend.

” The speaker lays emphasis on the need for feminine innocence. The poet advances his argument in the next stanzas by citing examples of beautiful women such as Helen of Troy, whose beauty was said to be the cause of the Trojan War.

By the end, the poet wants his daughter to be courteous, as love cannot come unconditionally and freely. She must earn love with good efforts and kind-heartedness, and she cannot win it by merely physical beauty because “Hearts are not had as a gift but hearts are earned.

” Summing up his theme, the poet wishes his daughter to possess such qualities that could help her face the future years confidently and independently.

Structural Analysis

The poem is written in a lyric form containing ten stanzas with eight lines in each stanza. The poem follows a regular rhyme scheme, which is AABBCDDC as shown below:

I have walked and prayed for this young child an hour  A
And heard the sea-wind scream upon the tower,          A
And-under the arches of the bridge, and scream          B
In the elms above the flooded stream;                         B
Imagining in excited reverie                                        C
That the future years had come,                                  D
Dancing to a frenzied drum,                                        D
the murderous innocence of the sea.                C

The meter of this poem alternates between iambic pentameter and trochaic pentameter, as inI have walked and prayed for this young child an hour / And heard the sea-wind scream upon the tower.” The poem is rich in literary devices such as symbolism, personification, paradox, sibilance, assonance, alliteration, and onomatopoeia. The line “murderous innocence of the sea” is an example of paradox. Sibilance is found in the words “sea-wind scream,” while “scream” is also an example of an onomatopoeia. The use of personification can be noted in the lines “future years … dancing”, which implies the transience of life. The poet uses symbols such as “sea wind” and “flooded stream” which denote turbulent forces at work. Alliteration is present in the phrase “be granted beauty.”

Guidance for Usage of Quotes

The poem is concerned with the chaotic modern world. It shows a father consumed with apprehension for his daughter’s future in an uncertain political situation.

The father is tense about how he can possibly protect his daughter from the raging storm outside, because she is very beautiful. Therefore, he prays for her as well as gives advice about how to live successfully on earth.

Similarly, modern-day fathers can send quotes from this poem to their daughters as a piece of advice for special occasions:

“In courtesy I’d have her chiefly learned;Hearts are not had as a gift but hearts are earnedBy those that are not entirely beautiful;Yet many, that have played the foolFor beauty’s very self, has charm made wise,And many a poor man that has roved,Loved and thought himself beloved,

From a glad kindness cannot take his eyes.”

Prayer for Depression and Tips on How to Cope

Prayer For My Girlfriend’s Depression

Did you know that Christians can get depressed too?  Many people think that if you are saved and serving the Lord it is not possible for you to be depressed.

We would to examine depression in the bible, give you the warning signs of depression, offer you a test to tell if you are in fact depressed and then give you some biblical solutions to get it.

First, let’s look at some of the signs of depression, a yes answer to more than 5 of these would be positive depression symptoms:

  • Are you always feeling sad?
  • Do you feel hopeless, irritable, anxious, or guilty?
  • Have you lost interest in hobbies and activities that you once loved?
  • Are you always tired?
  • Are you having trouble concentrating and remembering details?
  • Do you have insomnia ? Or you over sleep most of the time?
  • Have you had a drastic change in your weight due to overeating or not eating at all?
  • Do you harbor suicidal thoughts or think about death and going to heaven a lot?
  • Does your body ache, do you have headaches, digestive problems or cramps?.

If you would to do an online depression test click here

In the bible several great men and women of God also battled bouts of depression.  Here is a Psalm written by King David that describes what he felt as he was going through his depression.

Psalm 42 (NLT)

1 As the deer longs for streams of water,
so I long for you, O God.
2 I thirst for God, the living God.
When can I go and stand before him?
3 Day and night I have only tears for food,
while my enemies continually taunt me, saying,
“Where is this God of yours?”

4 My heart is breaking
as I remember how it used to be:
I walked among the crowds of worshipers,
leading a great procession to the house of God,
singing for joy and giving thanks
amid the sound of a great celebration!

5 Why am I discouraged?
Why is my heart so sad?
I will put my hope in God!
    I will praise him again—
my Savior and 6 my God!

Now I am deeply discouraged,
    but I will remember you—
even from distant Mount Hermon, the source of the Jordan,
from the land of Mount Mizar.

7 I hear the tumult of the raging seas
as your waves and surging tides sweep over me.

8 But each day the Lord pours his unfailing love upon me,
and through each night I sing his songs,
praying to God who gives me life.

9 “O God my rock,” I cry,
    “Why have you forgotten me?
Why must I wander around in grief,
    oppressed by my enemies?”
10 Their taunts break my bones.
They scoff, “Where is this God of yours?”

11 Why am I discouraged?
Why is my heart so sad?
I will put my hope in God!
    I will praise him again—
    my Savior and my God!

We see that David was broken hearted, deeply discouraged, his body ached, he was crying and sad.  We also see his solution to his depression which was to praise God.  Worshiping God brought him his depression.  We know that while you are going through the depression you may not feel worshiping God but if the bible offers it as a solution I think it is something we should do!

Another great man of God who suffered from depression is Elijah.  He had just come the major victory of calling down fire on the false prophets and now Jezebel was after him.  What we learn from this is that after a great victory, or even sometimes going into a great victory, you may face depression.

1 Kings 19:4-5 (NLT)

4 Then he went on alone into the wilderness, traveling all day. He sat down under a solitary broom tree and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, Lord,” he said. “Take my life, for I am no better than my ancestors who have already died.”

5 Then he lay down and slept under the broom tree. But as he was sleeping, an angel touched him and told him, “Get up and eat!”

We see that Elijah was suicidal and the solution to Elijah getting his depression was basically for him to eat something.  We are not saying that it will be this simple for everyone because each person’s process is different but we are saying that there is a solution for you and God can show you what it is.

We see in this following verse the Apostle Paul’s discouragement and that God sent Titus to encourage him and his joy returned.

2 Corinthians 7:5-7 (NLT)

5 When we arrived in Macedonia, there was no rest for us. We faced conflict from every direction, with battles on the outside and fear on the inside.

6 But God, who encourages those who are discouraged, encouraged us by the arrival of Titus. 7 His presence was a joy, but so was the news he brought of the encouragement he received from you.

When he told us how much you long to see me, and how sorry you are for what happened, and how loyal you are to me, I was filled with joy!

Know that in the midst of your depression, God’s word offers hope and insight on how to get it.  Put your hope and trust in God.  Praise Him. Worship Him.  Put on some worship music and sing to God, ask Him to deliver you from that spirit of depression and know that He will do it.  If He did it for the great men of the bible, He will do it for you as well.

Say what you will about Joel Osteen, you would have to be blind to not see that he has the gift of encouragement.

Regardless of your denominational affiliation, watching one or two of his sermons if you feel depressed will surely lift you it!  That is his spiritual gift at work in the body of Christ and at times when you feel you need it getting a word of encouragement from him will help. Here are some of Joel Osteen’s sermons

Here are some scriptures for you to meditate on to help you the depression:

Deuteronomy 31:8 (NLT)

8 Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.”

Psalm 3:3 (NKJV)

3 But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head.

Psalm 34:18 (NLT)

18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.

Romans 8:38-39 (NLT)

38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love.

Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.

39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Prayer for Depression

Isaiah 41:10 (NLT)

10 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.

Jeremiah 29:11-12 (NLT)

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12 In those days when you pray, I will listen.

John 16:33 (NLT)

33 I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (NLT)

3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. 4 He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.

Psalm 118:17 (NLT)

I will not die; instead, I will live to tell what the Lord has done.

Here is a Prayer for Depression:

Holy Spirit you are the Comforter and I ask you to comfort my heart at this time.  Fill my mind with your wisdom and enlightenment to see a way this state of depression.  I ask that you would send forth your warring angels to bind the spirit of depression and evil around me.  Close every door that I have left open to this spirit.

Send your ministering angels to speak life, truth and hope to me.  Guide me on a path of revival and renewal.  Refresh my spirit and fill me anew with your joy.  May the joy of the Lord be my strength.  I repent for not trusting and putting my hope in you.  I pray that your grace will fill me and that I will have a renewed hope in Your word and Your promises.

Give me the gift of discerning spirits so that will see where and when this spirit of depression comes in and bind it up before it attacks. No weapons that are ever formed against me shall prosper and I know that I shall live and not die to declare the salvation of the Lord.

Fill me from the top of my head to the tip of my toes with your Holy Spirit, with Your peace and Your presence, in Jesus name. Amen

Here are some other prayers for you.  And some other spiritual warfare prayers.

Powerful Prayers for Depression [Quotes & Verses]

Prayer For My Girlfriend’s Depression

The feeling of worth is so powerful. Without the feeling of worth, one can begin to feel hopeless. When one feels hopeless, they want an escape. When one attempts to escape their life, they shut down and become prisoner to their negative thoughts and loneliness.

Depression is a physical, mental and spiritual condition. It is characterized by the consistent feeling of hopelessness and joylessness. It can come in a dark and dense cloud; its spirit of heaviness can weigh one down.

One of the ways to help prevent someone from falling down this slippery slope of depression is by going your way to make sure others in your community feel their worth.

The good Word of God paired with your own good word can be enough to change the outlook or condition of a troubled heart for the better. Practice compassion and make people feel they are important, they are loved and they are enough.

We all seek these fundamental needs; these desires were planted in our hearts by God.

Proverbs 12:25- Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down (depression), but a good word cheers it up.

If you come across someone and see that they are struggling or having a tough time, offer them your support and encouragement. You don’t even need to worry about coming up with the most motivating and poetic thing to say to them.

It can be as simple and heartfelt as an embrace and telling them these three words, “You are enough.” Sharing these simple messages of affirmation has so much impact.

Compassion and love is what can make someone escape their hole and get back their life.

Unfortunately over the years, society has developed this stigma surrounding mental illnesses and depression that has done our community a huge disservice. This negative stigma inevitably pushes people suffering from depression away from seeking the help they need. It’s a double-edged sword.

Depression is often viewed as a weakness that can be remedied with an attitude adjustment. But in reality, it is more than just a slump or a period of sadness. There are some people who truly have mental illnesses. There are some people that have chemical imbalances in their brains and it’s not their fault.

It can stem from their upbringing, their influences or just simply a bad luck of the draw.
Mental illness and depression is not a choice. It is something that occurs over time. If you or someone you know is struggling with depression, seek professional help immediately.

There is absolutely no shame in receiving help.

Psalm 31:22,24 – You heard my cry for mercy when I called to you for help… Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.

Everybody has that time where they hit rock bottom. It could be anything such as a bankruptcy, a divorce or a death of a loved one. Life happens to all of us at one point or another.

You may feel you have hit a wall and life has you pinned down to the ground. You are lying flat on the ground and all you can do is look up. You feel stuck.

You feel paralyzed as you look up and see all the things you want, hope and desire just pass you by.

Psalm 34:18, 19 – The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. (19) A righteous man may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.

You lie there, and the decision is do you stand up and start fighting for those things you want, hope and desire? Or do you continue to lie there and stare at all the things you want, hope and desire?

There is no one else that can do anything for you. The only thing that is capable of destroying the cause, process and effects of depression is God’s hope and his word of hope.

The solution is to get God’s hope back inside of you. His hope will give you the clarity to once again see all the possibilities for your future.

Hope also gives you the motivation to take action and the encouragement to stay on the road to faith and joy.

God’s deliverance can set you free. However, it is in your responsibility to fight for your continued deliverance. You must make the decision; are you going to lie there on the ground and keep dreaming or stand up and start taking action?

The second you stand up is the second that you succeed. The second you stand up is right when you become the hero.  Whatever happens to you next is part of the journey of being a hero. You are your own hero the second you stand up.

Experience the glorious freedom and joy that God has for you. You have the power to succeed and you have the power to stand up. You have the power to achieve and make things happen.

Even if you “fail” and things don’t work out the way you expected, it’s okay. Why? Because the worth is in the journey. The worth is in standing up. The worth is in the exploration.

The worth isn’t necessarily in the outcome.

Psalm 37:23-24 – If the Lord delights in a man’s way, he makes his steps firm; though he stumbles, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.

So, how do you make a shift in your life? How do you make this change?

Stand up and start taking action. Fight for God’s outlook with all you have. Be your own hero.

Believe in the bible for it holds the mind and ways of God. Read scriptures and verses that resonate with you and inspire you. Meditate on them. Then say some of the prayers below or have your own conversation with God.

Within this freedom you will find more healing, deeper conversations with your soul and more clarity on the purpose of your existence. Stay steadfastly focused on the Lord and you will find peace and brighter days. You are important and you have value. You are not alone.

Isaiah 26:3-4, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusts in Thee. Trust ye in the LORD forever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.

Psalm 126:5 – Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy.

Uplift My Thoughts:

Dear God, I come to you in my hour of need. I ask you to touch my mind and uplift my thoughts, change my seeming realities that I’m thinking about my life, change my opinion of what is and what can be.

God, I ask that you to give me a sense of well being again. I pray that you help me find my smile, both on my face and in my soul. God I cannot do this by myself, so I turn to you, and I surrender.

In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.

Disturbed Prayer

O Christ Jesus, when all is darkness and we feel our weakness and helplessness, give us the sense of your presence, your love, and your strength. Help us to have perfect trust in your protecting love and strengthening power, so that nothing may frighten or worry us, for, living close to you, we shall see your hand,

your purpose, your will through all things.

-St. Ignatius of Loyola

Lift Me Up

Dear God, I pray that you will lift me up. Lift me up so I can get on with my life.

I do not know where to turn, God, so I ask you to work through me and to attract to me a life that will be everything that I need for sustained happiness and fulfillment.

I may not know what that is, God, but I trust that you do and that gives me hope. It also gives me hope that you can come through me, touch me, and uplift me.

I give thanks, God, that this is now occurring in my life, and I decree that it is so.

In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.

In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.

Release Feelings of Sadness

Dear God,I release all concerns and pray that with your help, all gloominess will be removed.

I release feelings of sadness, feel your powerful presence enfold me, and give thanks for your good that is governing every situation in my life.

I willingly let go and let God because I know that each time I do, I am opening the door to endless possibilities and complete joy.  Help me lift my thoughts, Dear God, and feel the assurance of your presence.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Help Me Move Forward, God

Dear God,I ask you to help me cast out feelings of hopelessness, sadness, and frustration and help me move forward.  I know you are beside me.  I feel your surrounding comfort, understanding, and unconditional love, wrapping around me, a blanket, calming my fears and lightening my heart.  Thank you, Dear God, for always being there for me and with me, each and every day.

I pray that I am able to release the sadness I feel and enjoy the adventure of the journey.

In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.

From Depression To Joy

Dear God, I pray that I live my life in joy. Whatever is keeping me from the full expression of joy; I pray that it is spiritually removed, or that I can look beyond it, to discover the true beauty in my life. I want to live more; I want to expand my awareness; I want to live in joy. Help me dear God to realize this now.

Thank You, God.

In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.

From Depression to Peace

Dear God, Beginning now, I no longer feel depressed. My depressed mood is cast out and replaced with your peace. Tranquility permeates my being, soothing my emotions and filling my mind and heart with joyous serenity.

I accept your gift of peace.  I come to you, Dear God, and my mood is lifted.  I fully accept your peaceful presence, and I feel calm.  This moment is holy, for in this moment, I enter into your spirit of peace.

Thank you, dear God, for helping me to elevate my mood.

Thank you God for your priceless gift of peace. I will cherish it, and I promise to share it with others.

In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.

Prayer for Those Coping With Depression

Dear Lord, you are our refuge in good and in bad times. In your infinite mercy, bring peace and comfort to those of us who face days sometimes filled with pain and depression. Help us to realize that through you there is joy and the promise of lasting peace.

Help us through the rough times. Walk before and beside us so that we may walk in your footsteps and reach out to you in our journey on this earth. Help us to focus on our blessings rather than our misfortunes, dear Lord. Thank you for hearing and answering our prayers.

Amen
