Prayer For Grace At The End Of The Day

8 Evening Prayers To End Your Day

Prayer For Grace At The End Of The Day

Corrie ten Boom once said: “Don’t pray when you feel it. Have an appointment with the Lord and keep it. A man is powerful on his knees.”

Evening prayers are the right way to end your day! Wake up with God, but also end your day with God in prayer. Evening prayers to me seem to be more intimate with God. You have had a whole day to think about His mercy, grace and blessings that He bestows on you. Here are 8 prayers that you can pray at the end of your day!

Thank You!

Dear Wonderful Father,

You have granted me another day of life to be your light on this world. Thank you for allowing me to enjoy your sunshine, my family, Your Word and Jesus today! It truly was another blessed day because You were in it, Lord. I am so thankful for all of the blessings You bestowed upon me today. I love You! Amen

“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it!” (Psalm 118:24)

Tomorrow?

Father in Heaven,

If tomorrow doesn’t come, I want You to know how much I love You! You have guided my steps today and brought me safely home to my family. You are truly my best friend! You sing over me daily. (Zephaniah 3:17) You rejoice over me with gladness.

(Zephaniah 3:17) I am not worthy of Your affections, Father, and You don’t even consider the thought of Heaven without me.

Oh Lord, You really are a great God! Your love is unending and it is my portion daily! Thank you Father! I love You! Amen

“The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty One who will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness; He will quiet you by His love; He will exult over you with loud singing!” (Zephaniah 3:17)

Uncertainties

Dear Lord,

The future for me is so obscure. I have no idea where my life is headed. All I know is where I have been today and I thank You for leading me through this day.

Lord, will I ever get married? Will I find the perfect job? Will I ever own my own home? Where can I fit in at my church? Lord, there are so many questions that only You know the answers to. Father, as I end this day I give them to You and ask that You do as You see fit.

I am at Your mercy always, loving Father. Thank You for this day and I pray that if tomorrow comes that answers may come with it. I love You! Amen

“Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalm 37:4)

Salt And Light

Glorious One,

Today was a wonderful day! Thank you for allowing me to be your vessel in spreading Your love to others through my actions today. I was the salt and the light to many people today.

I know there will always be nay sayers but there are also lost people on very fertile soil. Lord, I pray that the seeds I planted today were on fertile soil.

I pray, Lord, that you will water these seeds and reap a bountiful harvest. Thank you for this day! I love You! Amen

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in Heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)

Rough Day

Lord above,

Today was a rough one. I am late on paying bills. I need new tires on my car and that caused me to almost have an accident. I feel I am in a dead-end job. My spouse and kids are driving me crazy! Life is control right now, Father! Lord, I need Your stability right now.

You are my Rock! Refresh my Spirit with song! Refresh my mind with Your Word! Refresh my soul within this prayer, Lord! I am at Your mercy and I know You are with me always. I pray, Lord, that You make my paths straight and iron out all of these trials.

What can I learn from these trials? I place these all in Your hands. I love You, Father! Amen

“In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.” (Proverbs 3:6)

I praise Your Name and the Name of Jesus Christ! I love You! Amen

Praises

Oh Lord,

You led me safely through this day! May Your Name be praised always! Lord, I praise You for so many things! I praise You for my family, job, car, house, friends, church, Bible, prayer time, and most importantly, Jesus! Lord, thank You for Jesus! He bled and died for me! He loved me enough to embrace those nail-scarred hands and feet! Oh, how He loves me! I praise Your Name and the Name of Jesus Christ! I love You! Amen

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)

Strength

Father,

I am weak right now. There is so much going on in my life physically and emotionally that I am at my breaking point! I need Your strength to make it through these times.

Father, I pray that tonight while I sleep You will refresh my mind and strength for tomorrow morning. Lord, I pray that You will watch over me as I sleep and bring pleasant thoughts into my mind as I dream away.

Thank You for loving me, Lord! Amen

“You are my strength when I am weak. You are the treasure that I seek. You are my all in all.” (You Are My All In All – Dennis Jernigan)

Anticipation

Father,

Here I am ready to fall asleep and I can’t help but think about what Heaven will be .

I imagine beautiful walkways where the saints talk and sing praises to You! I imagine the room that Jesus has prepared for me! A room prepared by the greatest designer ever! I imagine talking with the people that I love right now and the ones that are already with You! I can’t wait to see the 12 gates surrounding it! I can’t wait to experience Jesus for the first time there! Oh Father, I will be in Your presence! In the presence of Yahweh! You are the biggest reward of all-time! Thank You for loving me so much, Father! Amen

“It had a great, high wall, with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and on the gates the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel were inscribed.” (Revelation 21:12)

Conclusion

I hope you have enjoyed these prayers for the evening time. God is so good and the evening time is a wonderful time to express how much you love Him. God bless you as you live a life worthy of the calling!

Prayers for Evening and Night

Prayer For Grace At The End Of The Day

Tue, June 18, 2019

Welcome to Daily Prayer, new friend.

O  Lord, I pray for your support all the day long, until the shadows lengthen and the evening comes, and the busy world is hushed, and the fever of life is over, and my work is done. Then in your mercy, grant me and my family a safe lodging, and a holy rest, and peace at the last.

Amen.

O  God, who is the life of mortal men, the light of the faithful, the strength of those who labor, and the repose of the dead; I thank you for the timely blessings of the day, and humbly beg for your merciful protection all this night. Bring me and my loved ones, I beseech you, in safety to the morning hours; through him who died for us and rose again, your Son, our Jesus Christ.

Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever.

Amen.

Lighten our darkness, we beseech thee, O Lord; and by thy great mercy defend us from all perils and dangers of this night; for the love of thy only Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Amen.

¶ Here may be added any special Prayers.

The Lord bless us and keep us. The Lord make his face to shine upon us, and be gracious unto us. The Lord lift up his countenance upon us, and give us peace, this night and evermore.

Amen.

Thanks I give to you, my God, for the day that is ending, and thanks for the coming night. Bring sleep to the weary, bring repose to those I love, and give me rest until tomorrow. Be present, O Lord, and protect your children through the silent hours of this night, that we who are wearied with the work and changes of this fleeting world, may rest upon your eternal changelessness.

In this day that is ending I have not been all that I should have been. Help me, my God, to be less harsh towards others, more gentle, more patient.

Make me too, more determined, more demanding of myself, more truthful in speaking, more faithful in my promises, more active in my work, more obedient and more submissive to your will; let me be cheerful, too, and may tomorrow be a finer, fuller day than this.

Amen.

Jesus Christ, my God, I adore You and thank you for all the graces You have given me this day. I offer You my sleep and all the moments of this night, and I beg of you to keep me without sin. Therefore, I put myself within your sacred care and under the mantle of your Holy Spirit. Let Your holy angels stand about me and keep me in peace; and let your blessing be upon me.

Amen.

Lord, You have always given bread for the coming day; and though I am poor, today I believe.Lord, You have always given strength for the coming day; and though I am weak, today I believe.Lord, You have always given peace for the coming day; and though of anxious heart, today I believe.Lord, You have always kept me safe in trials; and now, tried as I am, today I believe.Lord, You have always marked he road for the coming day; and though it may be hidden, today I believe.Lord, You have always lightened this darkness of mine; and though the night is here, today I believe.Lord, You have always spoken when time was ripe; and though you be silent now, today I believe.

Amen.

My Lord, I thank you for having given me life, and for having made me to know, love, and serve you all the days of my life and for eternity.

I thank you for my faith and for the work and pleasure in the day that I am completing. I beg your pardon for my offenses and omissions of the day, and resolve to make tomorrow a better day.

Be with me as I live out the rest of my day. May I do so in your holy grace and good favor.

Amen.

Prayer at the End of the Day

Heavenly Father, to your goodness I commend myself this night, humbly asking for your protection through its darkness and dangers. I am helpless and dependent; graciously preserve me.

For all whom I love and value, for every friend and connection, I equally pray; however divided and far asunder, I know that we are a before you, and under your eye. May we be equally united in faith and fear, in fervent devotion towards you, and in your merciful protection this night.

Pardon oh Lord! the imperfections of these my prayers, and accept them through the mediation of our blessed savior, Jesus Christ.

Amen.

A Bedtime Prayer

Give me light in the season of night, I beseech you, O Lord, and grant that my rest may be without sin, and my waking to your service; that I may come in peace and safety to the waking of the great day; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Amen.

I beseech you to continue your gracious protection to me and my family this night. Defend us from all dangers, and from the fear of them; that we may enjoy such refreshing sleep as may fit us for the duties of the coming day.

And grant me grace always to live in such a state that I may never be afraid to die; so that, living and dying, I may be yours, through the merits and satisfaction of your Son Christ Jesus, in whose name I offer up these my imperfect prayers.

Amen.

A Short Night-time Prayer (2 Timothy 1:7)

For God’s not given me a spirit of fear,  But a spirit of love,  and of power, and a sound mind,

To live each day and glorify his name.

Popular Child’s Bedtime Prayer, 18th Century

Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake,

I pray the Lord my soul to take.

Alternative Version for Children: Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep, Watch and guard me through the night, and wake me with the morning light.

Amen.

A Beautiful Prayer to End the Day

Heavenly Father, my day is drawing to an end, and I'm ready to turn in. But before I do, I have to thank you for your faithfulness today. It's always a good day, even when things may not go the way I plan, or when the world seems in chaos, because you are in control.

For all the times when I was aware of your help today, all the times when your unseen presence seemed so near, thank you, God. But for all the ways you worked behind the scenes, unknown to me, moments when heaven-sent angels moved on my behalf in ways I'll never know, thank you for those also, Lord.

Forgive me for any foolish actions on my part today or things I did without first asking your blessing or wisdom. Those are moments I'd rather forget, but I'm so grateful for your forgiveness when I ask.

I never want to go to bed without clearing the air between us, Lord. Our friendship means too much, and your holiness deserves that. Thank you for loving me just as I am.

Your love compels me to give you my all and fills my heart with praise for the relationship we share because of Jesus.

As I close my eyes tonight, I'm praying for loved ones around me, for friends and those who need to know you, Lord. I'm praying that your love, the billions of stars in the night sky outside, will touch them and help them see who you really are. I pray for our world and those in it. I pray for their needs as well as my own.

Grant me a good night's sleep tonight, God, so that I can awake refreshed and ready to begin another day loving you. Thank you again for blessings so undeserved and too numerous to count.

I love being your child, and I long for the word “faithful” to describe my service to you, each day of every year. When I awake in the morning, may it be with a joyful smile, not a grumpy spirit.

May your protection and your presence bathe this place with peace and safety against the enemy. Good night, Lord. In Jesus's name, Amen. ~ Rebecca Barlow Jordan

Father, We Thank Thee

Father, we thank thee for the night, And for the pleasant morning light; For rest and food and loving care, And all that makes the day so fair. Help us to do the things we should, To be to others kind and good; In all we do, in work or play, To grow more loving every day.

— Rebecca Weston – 1890

Bedtime Prayer (song by Twila Paris)

Now I lay me down to sleep I pray dear Lord that you will keep Your eyes upon this sleeping world

Every little boy and girl

Bless the children far away The ones who don't know how to pray Those who are not feeling well

The little one the slipped and fell

Bless the puppy down the street The neighbors I have yet to meet

Bless my mom and dad especially

Just one more thing I'd to say Before I close another day I'd to thank you Lord for all the ways

That You bless me

Bless the child whose home is torn The babies who are not yet born Bless the ones who take your word
To all the hearts that have not heard

Bless all your children everywhere I hope they know how much you care Maybe someday I can go

And tell them that You love them so

Bless Grandma and my Grandpa too And all my friend and all they do

Bless every twig upon my family tree

Just one more thing I'll say to you I'm so amazed by all you do I'll thank you once again because it's true

That you bless me

The Examen (Evening Reflection)

Written by St. Ignatius Loyola, the Examen is a daily process for prayerfully reflecting on your day.

1. Remember God’s presence.
Even after a trying day, God will quiet your soul as you remember His presence and intentionally seek to enter into it. Remember He’s with you. Invite Him to make Himself present to you.

2. Respond to Him with thanks.
Giving thanks gives God glory and helps us look on the bright side of a bad day. What small blessings can you thank God for?

3. Reflect on how God showed Himself to you.
God reveals himself through scripture, but we also see glimpses of him in nature, events, and people.

Sometimes He shows up loudly through miraculous, divine intervention. Other times He shows Himself quietly through the beauty of a flower or an earnest conversation.

As you look back over your day, can you identify moments where you sensed God’s revelation or intervention?

4. Repent of your failings.
I don’t recognizing my own sin, but repentance is key to continual renewal in our relationship with God.As you reflect on your day, remember specific points where you failed. Bring your shortcomings before God and ask Him to forgive you.

5. Resolve to grow.
God is in the business of changing us, so don’t let your failings discourage or define you. His mercies are always new. Accept His forgiveness. Ask Him for grace to change. Is there anything you need to make right or anyone you need to apologize to? What can you do differently tomorrow?
