I will have prayers for guidance

I will have prayers for guidance because there is no man who is of so little faith that, in a moment of great disaster, or heartbreak, or misery beyond his comprehension has not called out to his God?

My life need not be filled with religion in order to recognise this greatest mystery of nature – all creatures that walk the earth possess the instinct to cry out for help.

And aren’t these cries also a form of prayer? What superior power would not have the ability to answer our cries, having first given us as well as every creature in nature, be it a mule or a lamb or a bird the instinct to cry out for help?

Henceforth, I will pray for guidance. But my cries for help will only be cries for guidance. I won’t ever pray for material things. I have no need to call to a servant to bring me food.

I will never pray for gold, love, good health, petty victories, fame, success, or happiness.

Instead I will pray for the guidance that I may be shown the way to acquire these things and my prayers will always be answered.

The prayers for guidance I seek may come or it may not come. But are not both of these an answer? If a child asks his father for a treat and it is not forthcoming, has not the father answered? I will pray for guidance and I will pray as a salesman in this manner:

“Oh, Creator of all things help me. For this day I go out into the world naked and alone and, without your hand to guide me, I will wander far from the path which leads to success and happiness”.

You have taught the Lion and the Eagle how to hunt and prosper with teeth and claw. Teach me how to hunt with words and prosper with love, so that I may be a Lion among men and an Eagle in the market place. Help me to remain humble through obstacles and failures, yet hide not from mine eyes the prize that will come with victory.

Assign me tasks at which others have failed. Yet guide me to pluck the seeds of success from their failures.

Confront me with fears that will temper my spirit. Yet endow me with courage to laugh at my misgivings.

Spare me sufficient days to reach my goals, yet help me to live this day as though it be my last.

Guide me in my words so that they may bear fruit, yet silence me from gossip that none may be maligned.

Discipline me in the habit of trying and trying again. Yet show me the way to make use of the law of averages.

Favour me with alertness to recognise opportunity when I see it, yet endow me with patience to concentrate my strength.

Bathe me in good habits that the bad ones may drown, yet grant me compassion for weaknesses in others.

Suffer me to know that all things shall pass, yet help me to count the blessings of today.

Expose me to hate, so it may not be a stranger, yet fill my cup with love to turn strangers into friends.

But all these things, be only if Thou will it to be so. I am as small and lonely as a grape clutching the vine. Yet Thou hast made me different from all others. Readily there must be a special place for me.

Guide me. Help me. Show me the way. Let me become all, You planned for me to become, when my seed was planted and selected by You to sprout in the vineyard of the world. Help this humble salesman. Guide me, oh God.” I will have prayers for guidance.

As Christians, we need to put God first in everything that we do. We need to communicate not only our gratitude but also ask for guidance as we go through our day. we can do this by saying a prayer for guidance. Almighty God, I am currently being faced with a difficult situation and I need your guidance.  My mind is troubled and confused.  I’m worried that if I make the wrong decision, I might hurt someone.  I want my actions to be  your righteous word.

 All my life you’ve been there to guide me, and give me the wisdom and knowledge to persevere.  Now, at this very moment, I need you more than ever.  I know you’re the only one who can help me make the right choice.  Lord, I understand that we face challenges in our lives so that we may become stronger.

 I want to be able to overcome this obstacle I am faced with.  Please shower me with wisdom and focus so that I may make the right choice.  Give me unfailing strength so that I may have the courage to get past this troubled times.  I put my whole faith in you dear Father for I know that you will not forsake me.

 I am offering you this prayer because I trust in you.  I humbly ask that you stay by my side through this affair.  Please hear my plea.  I feel so lost because without your guidance.  Please enlighten my mind so I can choose the right path.  It’s very difficult to choose because all the choices I have to make may have bad consequences .

Dear Lord, every day of my life I work very hard to support myself and my family.  I make sure to do my best in all tasks that I undertake.  I value my career.  I put such a high importance on the quality of my work.  I feel very blessed to be where I am now.  I put so much time and effort in so far.

 Although I love my work, lately I’ve been feeling unmotivated.  These days I have been feeling very apprehensive.  I keep asking myself if this is the right job for me.  I am unhappy about the everyday situations I am faced with at work.  I feel they don’t give me enough recognition for the amount of work I put in.

 As you know, I am usually not the type of person who complains a lot.  I believe that you help us fulfill our destiny, and I need guidance for work.  Lord, I am humbly asking that you remind me why I have chosen this career in the first place so that I may continue on this path.

 I love my family very much and I only want the best for them.  I accepted this job because it will let me provide for the needs of my family.  I have accepted it because I am dedicated to my profession.  I also want to provide a positive change in people’s lives.

 Please guide me so that I may have the courage to stay strong amidst these challenging circumstances.

Prayers for Clarity

Lord Jesus Christ, my mind is very cloudy at the moment.  I do not feel the future is as clear as it usually is, and these decisions can have either bad or good consequences.  Right now I feel so lost.  I honestly don’t know which one to choose.

 My heart is troubled because I know that my choices wouldn’t only affect my life, but it may affect others as well.  Lord, you have said that you will not leave us in times of trouble.  I wholeheartedly believe that you will never abandon me.  I trust that you will never forsake your people.

 In these desperate times, please provide me your wisdom.  Bless me with the right knowledge so that I could understand which choice to make.  Please heal my troubled heart.  Clear my foggy mind of all the worries I am currently facing.  I know there is no problem that you cannot solve.

 These situations are an essential part of life so that we may put more faith in you through trust and guidance.  I will become stronger spiritually, emotionally, and mentally after this situation has resolved itself.  Lord Jesus, you have died on the cross to save us from our sins.

 You loved the world so much that you were willing to sacrifice yourself for your people.  I come to you because I know that you made that sacrifice that day to help me and all my brothers and sisters.  Please help me see this choice clearly.
