PRAYING TO RECEIVE FINANCIAL PROVISION FOR YOURSELF
Father God, I, Your servant, am in need of Your provision in order to meet my needs. In
the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, please provide my needs as immediately as possible
however You see fit. Thank You now that You cause me to ALWAYS triumph in Christ (2
Cor 2:14), that you work all things together for my good (Ro 8:28), that you give me
everything I need (Ps 23:1) that you richly give me everything I need for my enjoyment
(1 Tim 6:17), that you give me everything I need for life and godliness (1 Pe 1:3) that you
meet ALL my needs according to YOUR riches (Phi 4:19), that you withhold no good
things from me (Ps 84:11), that in all things at all times, I have all that I need to abound
in every good work (2 Cor 9:8), that You give generously to me (Luke 6:38) and that You
return to me sevenfold all that the enemy stole from me. Father God, I claim these
scriptures, your Word, right now and request that, in accordance with Your word, You
meet these needs I present to You as You see fit, even miraculously if needed. Let the
finances just come. In the name of Jesus, I bless You and thank You and ask You to bless
me. By faith, I declare that my every need is met on time every time because You are
good. I declare and decree I shall have more than enough supplied to me from my
Father, the God of More than Enough. I declare and decree that I shall receive
supernatural provision, even miraculous provision if necessary. Every hindrance to my
provision go, now, in Jesus' name! Angels of the Lord, go now and fulfill this request
according to God's Word. Bless the name of the Lord! Bless His holy name! Thank You

stolen from our ancestors and us (Pro 6:31) and that You cause us to always triumph in

Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ, thank You for opportunity to see You work
again. Thank You that You are always answering my prayers. I thank You that You do
exceedingly abundantly more than we ask or think. I thank You that You will do that
again now. Father God, my friend here has needs that need to be met. As this is YOUR
ministry and not theirs, I ask YOU to meet this need right now. Father, remove every
hindrance to this need being met and meet this need right away. Please do this without
any delay. Right now, I take YOU God at YOUR word. Your word say that YOU shall supply
our needs according to Your riches, and that YOU have ALREADY given us everything we
need for life and godliness. As this is already ours, I simply withdraw the supply from
heaven. You said that You will give to who ask, so we just receive right now because I
have asked. You said that You would not do a thing except that You reveal it to Your
prophets first and that we could decree a thing and YOU would establish it. As You have
called me to be a prophet and not just someone who prophesies, but someone who
lives this as a lifestyle, I now, by faith, as a prophet of the Most High God, decree in the
name of Jesus that the finances for shall come and it shall not delay! I decree that it shall
show Your goodness and bring You glory! I decree that I shall hear a good report from
my friend! This money shall come and not delay! In the name of Jesus, thank You Father
for supplying their need! Holy angels of the Lord, I dispatch You now to go and
accomplish the Father’s will in this matter. Father, I praise You and thank You, and give
You glory for answering this right prayer right now. Thank You Father for doing

Father, You said that those who bless Your people, You will bless, so right now, in the
name of Jesus, we pray Numbers 6, 24 through 26 over Your people and us! Of Your
people and us, we say, "The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine
on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace."
You said this was how we are to bless others, so we say amen!
Father God, thank You for another opportunity to see You provide a good Father to
His children and His home (Lk 11:11). Thank You that in heaven, there is no lack, and You
told us to pray, Your will be done on earth as it in heaven. Thank You that, according to
Your Word, You do not leave Your children begging for bread (Ps 37:25). Thank You for
giving us everything we need for life and godliness (2 Pet 1:3), meeting all our needs
according to Your riches (Phil 4:19), richly giving us everything for our enjoyment (1 Tim

84:11), that it gives You great pleasure to GIVE us [as a gift] Your kingdom (Lk 12:32), the
whole kingdom. Thank You that You who did not spare Your own Son, but gave Him up
for us all, that You also, along with Him, graciously give us [as a gift] all things (Ro 8:32),
that all things are ours by faith! (1 Cor 3:23) Thank You Father, that in all things, at all
time, we have all that we need and that we abound in every good work (2 Cor 9:8), that
instead of shame we receive a double portion (Isa 61:7) and that we receive back
sevenfold everything the thief, that devil, has stolen from our ancestors and us (Pro
6:31) and that You cause us to always triumph in Christ (2 Cor 2:14).
Thank You that You do exceedingly abundantly more than we ask or think! (Eph 3:20)
Since this is how it is with You, God, we boldly ask You to provide for all our needs
without hesitation. Send Your holy angels now to retrieve all that we need. By faith, in
the name of Jesus, we loose the holy angels of finances, provision and miracles to
accomplish all this and more, and bind up every hindrance. Show us that You are the
God of more than enough (2 Cor 9:8). Provide in miraculous ways that are obviously
Your doing that we may glory in You for doing it and give testimony of Your goodness
and faithfulness. Father, in the name of Jesus, by faith, according to Heb 11:1, Mk 10:35,
11:23-24, Lk 18:17 and Ja 1 [total faith without any doubt], we decree and thank You
that we receive all that we need and more right now, that it is coming to us right now,
without delay.
In the name of Jesus, I decree, “The checks are in the mail,” that heavenly miraculous
provision is coming to each one reading this immediately! Thank You Father for
providing. We bless You! We praise You! We glorify You! In the name of Jesus. Amen! © 2016 Gregory Cook All Rights Reserved. You may freely copy or distribute. Page 4

Prayer for Your Finances

Prayer For Financial provision

For some, Christmas can be a time of excitement, fun, and generosity. Unfortunately though, for others it can be a time of worry and anxiety due to finances. Sometimes the end of the year, corresponding with Christmastime, comes with extra expenses.

Then on top of that, purchasing gifts can add up…especially if you have numerous events family celebrations, work parties, church events, Secret Santa gift exchanges, outreaches or charitable giving that requires some of our finances, etc.

Sometimes it can be stressful figuring out where the money is going to come from for all of that.

The wise thing to do would be to budget for the end-of-year expenses and Christmas giving. It’s a good idea to allocate or set aside a little bit of money each week or each month for this purpose.

Regrettably, many of us haven’t exercised this kind of wisdom (or unexpected events and expenses have prohibited us from doing so). Because of this, when we don’t use wisdom sometimes we have to pay the consequences of poor decision making.

That being said though, God still cares about our finances. He cares about the details. Additionally, even when we mess up He still cares about helping us.

Several years ago, I learned a few strategies for praying over finances. With Christmastime being a stressful time for finances for many people, I thought this might be a good opportunity to share some of those strategies and a Prayer for Your Finances. These strategies and prayer work anytime though–they don’t just apply at Christmas!

Remind God of His promise provision

God is our provider. We can approach God boldly with His promise of provision. Philippians 4:19 promises us that God will supply all of our needs. Jesus also gives us an example to pray for our needs in the Lord’s Prayer.

Moreover, one of God’s names is Jehovah Jireh, which means “the Lord will provide”. All throughout scripture you will see countless examples of the Lord’s provision.

When praying over your finances, remind God (put Him in remembrance) of His promise of provision.

Put me in remembrance; let us argue together; set forth your case, that you may be proved right.” Isaiah 43:26 (ESV)

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19 (KJV)

“Give us this day our daily bread” Matthew 6:11 (KJV)

“Then Abraham looked up and saw a ram caught by its horns in a thicket. So he took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering in place of his son. Abraham named the place Yahweh-Yireh (which means “the LORD will provide”). To this day, people still use that name as a proverb: “On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided.”” Genesis 22:13-14 (NLT)

“God is my helper! The Lord is the provider for my life.” Psalm 54:4 (GW)

Take a look at this hilarious short video clip of Joe McGee when he was at a point in his life where he was frustrated financially and decided to put God in remembrance of His promise of provision.

Pray for wisdom over your finances

If we want to be blessed financially, we need to use wisdom where our finances are concerned. We need to learn to be wise with our money. Pray for God to give you wisdom over your finances…to make good decisions regarding money and to keep you from making foolish decisions.

“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.” James 1:5 (NLT)

“For wisdom is more profitable than silver, and her wages are better than gold.” Proverbs 3:14 (NLT)

“How much better to get wisdom than gold, and good judgment than silver!” Proverbs 16:16 (NLT)

Pray for supernatural favor over your finances

Sometimes we just need a little bit of favor or some extra “oomph” over our finances. Did you know that favor belongs to you? It’s part of your covenant with God. Favor is part of the package deal—it comes along with your salvation.

We have many blessings, the blessings of Abraham (Galatians 3:13-14, Deuteronomy 28:1-14), that are ours through Christ. Because of Christ we have the favor of God and can invite that favor into our lives and circumstances, including but not limited to our finances.

You just need to ask…after all, ‘You have not because you ask not’ (James 4:3).

“Surely, LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.” Psalm 5:12 (NIV)

“And I will give these people such favor in the sight of the Egyptians that when you go, you will not go empty-handed.” Exodus 3:21 (HCSB)

“The LORD gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. Furthermore, the man Moses himself was greatly esteemed in the land of Egypt, both in the sight of Pharaoh’s servants and in the sight of the people.” Exodus 11:3 (NASB)

“The Lord gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they gave them what they asked. And they stripped the Egyptians [of those things].” Exodus 12:36 (NLT)

“The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”” Luke 1:28 (NIV)

“But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.

” Through Christ Jesus, God has blessed the Gentiles with the same blessing he promised to Abraham, so that we who are believers might receive the promised Holy Spirit through faith.

” Galatians 3:13-14 (NLT) (see also Deuteronomy 28:1-14)

“Once I was young, and now I am old. Yet I have never seen the godly abandoned or their children begging for bread.” Psalm 37:25 (NLT)

“Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the LORD will lack no good thing.” Psalm 34:10 (NLT)

Pray for increased channels of blessing

My pastor has taught for years that blessing, including and especially financial blessing, comes through channels. When God wants to get money to us, it doesn’t just fall the sky or appear nowhere.

It comes through channels…through work, through exchange (of services, goods, or intellectual property), through people, etc. Sometimes we just need an extra channel to be opened up for money to flow through. We can pray for increased channels of blessing.

I often to pray Revelation 3:7-8, for God to open doors and/or ideas for additional channels of income (and for the wrong doors to be shut).

“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows** of heaven for you.

I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!” Malachi 3:10 (NLT) **Note: Windows are a channel for light, air, etc.

to go through.

“To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.

I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.

” Revelation 3:7-8 (NIV)

Pray for true prosperity

My definition of true prosperity is to have what you need at the time you need it and to always have more than enough. True prosperity is being blessed so that you can be a blessing to others. Pray that God will bless your finances in such a way that your own needs are met and that you also have enough left over to be able to help others.

“God can give you all you need. He will give you more than enough. You will have everything you need for yourselves. And you will have enough left over to give when there is a need.” 2 Corinthians 9:8 (NLV)

“Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. You must each decide in your heart how much to give.

And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” And God will generously provide all you need.

Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.” 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 (NLT)

“And I have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.'” Acts 20:35 (NLT)

“When I fed the 5,000 with five loaves of bread, how many baskets of leftovers did you pick up afterward?” “Twelve,” they said. “And when I fed the 4,000 with seven loaves, how many large baskets of leftovers did you pick up?” “Seven,” they said.” Mark 8:19-20 (NLT)

Lord,

I praise you that you are my Provider! Thank you for providing and meeting ALL of my needs according to your riches in glory through Christ Jesus.  Today I ask for wisdom over my finances, for supernatural favor over my finances and for increased channels of blessing.

Please give me ideas and open doors that no one can close, and close the wrong doors. I pray for and thank you in advance that I will always have what I need at the time I need it and that I will always have more than enough.  Thank you that you are blessing me so that I can be a blessing to others.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Scripture Prayer for Success and Provision

Prayer For Financial provision

by Cindy Vander Haar

Scripture Prayer

Thank you for visiting Scripture Prayer for Success and Provision.  To fully understand the principles of praying scripturally, please read the teaching “Why Pray Scripture?” .

Hearing God: As it is rare to hear an audible voice from God, one of the ways God will speak to us is through His written Word and a small still voice inside us.

Before reviewing the scripture references below that address what the Bible says about success and provision ask the Holy Spirit of revelation to join you.

When certain verses capture your attention more than others, meditate and  incorporate those into your personal daily prayer life.

Heavenly Father, we ask You to give complete knowledge of Your Will to this reader, and to give him/her Your spiritual wisdom and understanding as they seek You with all their hearts and lean not on their own understanding.  In Jesus’ name we pray.  Amen.

Success and Provision Scripture References

(All scripture is quoted from the King James Version unless otherwise noted.)

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in every way and (that your body) may keep well, even as (I know) your soul keeps well and prospers. In fact, I greatly rejoiced when (some of) the brethren from time to time arrived and spoke (so highly) of the sincerity and fidelity of your life, as indeed you do live in the Truth (the whole Gospel presents). 3 John 2 (AMP)

Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. Luke 6:38

Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong; for the grass they will soon wither, green plants they will soon die away. Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine the dawn, the justice of your cause the noonday sun. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.

Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil. For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land. A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found. But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy great peace.

Psalm 37:1-11 (NIV)

If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God (Who gives) to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him. James 1:5 (AMP)

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD. Isaiah 54:17

And he shall be a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Psalm 1:3

Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Psalm 37:4

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105

Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. Psalm 35:27

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:  That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Galatians 3:13

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

Proverbs 3:5-10

The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands. Psalm 138:8

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33

But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day. Deuteronomy 8:18

Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established. Proverbs 16:3

The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. Proverbs 10:22

And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed. Joel 2:25-26

Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver. I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment: That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures. Proverbs 8:17-21

He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he. Proverbs 16:20

He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good. Proverbs 19:8

The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself. Proverbs 11:25

Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the  firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and they presses shall burst out with new wine. Proverbs 3:9-10

Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. But you ask, “How do we rob you?” In tithes and offerings. You are under a curse—the whole nation of you- because you are robbing me. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house.

Test me in this, says the Lord Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit, says the Lord Almighty.

Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land, says the Lord Almighty. Malachi 3:8-11 (NIV)

He who hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor. Proverbs 22:9

Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. Hebrew 10:35

It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep. Psalms 127:2

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33

Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7

He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him. Daniel 2:22

Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God… Deuteromony 28:1

I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.  However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven. Luke 10:19 (NIV)

…Continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose. Philippians 2:13  (NIV)

Dear Lord,

I come before You in the name of Your son, Jesus Christ, and I praise you and thank you that You are Jehovah Jireh, my God and provider. I thank you for the many ways You have provided for me and my family and that it is Your desire that we would prosper and be in good health even as our souls prosper.

Help me to prosper my soul in Your Word and to listen to Your instruction and acquire wisdom. Thank you that Your blessings bring wealth and You add no sorrow to it as You fill our treasuries for Your glory. Your gifts are better than the purest gold, Your wages better than sterling silver.

I ask for wisdom and Godly counsel so that I can work wisely and prosper and be satisfied.

Lord, You have said that You will show me a way my problems. I ask for that now. Forgive me where I have been fearful, greedy, or foolish in my work and my finances.

Help me to have integrity and wisdom and to persevere in righteousness. Forgive me for idolatry to the things of this world and help me to love You more. And I ask that You mercifully restore my losses.

I choose to walk in righteousness, in paths of justice, and to love and honor You, Oh Lord.

Dear Lord, I confess and declare that I will trust in You and lean not to my own understanding for You have said that You perfect the things that concern me. You even give to Your children as we sleep.

Lord, I will seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness. I will praise You for the wonderful things You do. I will not throw away my confidence in You, Lord. My hope is in You and I will persevere and receive Your promises in my life.

And I will honor and serve You all the days of my life.

I chose to be a cheerful giver and to be generous for that is Your heart, and You have said that a generous man will prosper.

I will give ten percent of my income to You, Lord, and I will watch the windows of Heaven open and poor out a blessing just as You have said.

Give me Your heart for the poor that I would joyfully give offerings and gifts to those in need. And thank you that as I give, it will be given unto me.

Thank you that I am a tree that’s planted by the rivers of water and whatever I do will prosper by Your grace because I belong to You, and You take pleasure in the prosperity of Your servants. You give me the ability to produce wealth for Your kingdom without shame or sorrow. If You are for me, who can be against me? You are awesome and I am humbled by Your love and grace.

I am thankful that Your love for me endures forever and Your plans for me are always for good and not for calamity. Thank you for Your great and precious promises that I can inherit through faith and patience.

I am so grateful that You are at work within me to cause me to desire and to do Your will.

I commit my work, my giving, and my finances to You, and ask that You cause my thoughts to become agreeable to Your will so that I will succeed to Your glory.

I thank you, Jesus, that on the cross You set me free from the curses of the law (Deuteronomy 28) of sickness, poverty, and eternal death. In Your name, I believe these things are broken off my life. Show me how to walk the habits of them.

And I receive the blessings of health, prosperity and eternal life that are mine through Your shed blood on the cross. I thank you, Lord, that You will reveal the things that are unseen and You will show me the way to prosperity and success as I honor You. I love you, Lord.

Your grace is truly amazing and all the glory is Yours.

 In Jesus’ mighty name,  Amen

6 Quick Secrets of Prayer For Financial Breakthrough

Prayer For Financial provision

Financial trouble is one of the most common issues people have. Financial issues can devastate individuals and marriages and send you spiraling down into a sea of worry, anxiety and depression.

If you’re struggling with financial hardships, know that you are not alone. You can turn to God’s instruction in the Bible on money. Scripture also reveals how to get a financial blessing.

Here are six quick secrets of prayer for financial breakthrough.

God cares for you

The first secret is God cares for you. This may seem pretty simple but when we’re struggling with debt and financial hardship, we often lose sight of this. Our needs are not overlooked or insignificant.

When we struggle with something, it is a good opportunity to strengthen our trust in God and remember that He is looking out for our good.

He cares about our needs even more than we do, but un us, He actually distinguishes better between what we need and what we think we need.

“Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your Heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:31-32).

This is the big one. Everything we have is a blessing from God. If He takes care of the birds and the flowers, what makes us doubt that He will care for us? We are fashioned in His image and even more dear to His heart than the birds. Instead of worrying about money, let’s trust God as our provider. He knows we need a roof over our heads, and He knows our bodies need food.

God doesn’t always answer the way you want Him to

Sometimes God directs ours prayers and our path a little differently than we’d . The Bible reminds us, “Many are the plans in the minds of man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand” (Proverbs 19:21).

Sometimes we’re not quite tuned in to God’s Will. We can come up with hundreds of ways to make more money, but those options may not work out how we planned.

Ultimately, financial security comes from God and trusting in His provision.

Sometimes the answer is ‘no’

There are going to be times when our actions and thoughts create separation with God. He wants to walk with you, listen to you and give you what’s best for you.

When it comes to our financial growth, sometimes the answer is ‘yes’ and sometimes the answer is ‘no.’ When you are praying for anything, the reality is God can say yes or no. God is sovereign and will do His Will, regardless of what we pray.

Most of the time when the answer is ‘no’ it is because God has something greater in store for you.

The answer to your prayer might be internal

The Bible tells us, “But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it Is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.” Ask yourself if you’re praying for a financial breakthrough because you aren’t truly content with where the Lord has you right now.

Also, ask yourself if it’s possible that the prayer you’re lifting up might be for the wrong reasons. Contentment is a huge factor in the Bible.

What are we telling God when we aren’t’ content with what He is providing for us? That He is wrong? That He is making His mistake? The remedy might be for you to turn your heart away from discontentment, covetousness, greed and self-entitlement.

God loves a cheerful giver

Cheerful givers always seem to have abundance. This doesn’t necessarily mean they are rich, but their needs are met, and they are grateful for what God has provided them. They are generally the happiest people around.

Cheerful givers are often biblical givers. They turn to God for guidance and trust in what He will provide. Just as financial crisis can reveal a lot about people, so will a sudden financial windfall.

It’s important that we turn to God, not only when the chips are down, but also when they are down.

Prayer requires action

Often, when people are in financial crisis, they’ll pray and wait for the Lord to deliver, but not put any action behind their requests. The idea of waiting on the Lord doesn’t mean that we sit and do nothing while God works it all out.

Self-made financial crisis can take a lot of time to fix. It’s important that we pray hard and work harder.

The concept is that we live obediently to the Lord, continue to do what we know is right and trust the Lord to make a way when the time is right.

Everybody has financial fears. You don’t have to be poor to get anxious or have financial fears. In fact, it seems the more you have the more you have to maintain, to insure, to protect and to worry over. We may never agree with God on how much is enough.

But it is important to remember that God’s plan will prevail, and His plan for us is good. If we seek God and His Kingdom first, everything we need will be provided for us.

We can take the blessings He gives us and bless others in return without fear of running out.
