Prayer For Discipline Through Love

Powerful Prayers for Love [Quotes & Bible Verses]

Prayer For Discipline Through Love

HIS love is unlimited for all eternity.

“I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine.” — Song of Solomon 8:3

Love might just be the most powerful entity that affects both the emotional and mental states. In other words, love can alter the way we act and think about a particular individual/entity.

A mother's love for her child is always unparalleled and a man’s always so possessive of the attention his lady shows. We can even call that jealousy and from experience, the greater the love, the greater the jealousy. That said, God is an extremely jealous Father.

He is also an all-encompassing family that offers so much more in our times of need. So, His love compels Him to be with us through thick and thin. And since we're our Father's children, we can't help but emulate such characteristics.

Still, attention must be paid to the fact that tempering the love of God with ours leads to an eternal bond between people. And in favor of such blessing, we have the following love prayers that work quite well.

Prayer for Love to Return

God, I thank You for granting me the resolve to stand before You today in acceptance of my faults and wrongs. I know I have treated him/her badly and the pain I'm feeling is due to my levity on the part of his/her feelings.

Please, God, I pray for an opportunity from You to apologise for my wrongdoings. He or she is the other half of me—the one that makes me whole. Father, I believe he or she is my completion and I pray that he returns to me. With open hands, I'll welcome him/her into my warm embrace.

Thank You once again for another miracle, Amen.

Prayer about Love for Others

Loving You is the best thing that has happened to me Oh Lord. You have stood by me ever since the fateful day that I accepted Your company. You have showered me with Your pure love, blessings, miracles, and divine protection. In fact, this prayer is only due to Your power.

By which, You kept me alive to see today and to make a request. I pray, Father in Heaven that You open the eyes of my family and friends. And for the ones who love You I do, Father keep both their eyes and mine open to Your devotion and adoration. I bless Your divine name for this deep and short prayer for love.

In Jesus Name I Pray, Amen.

Prayer for Love and Happiness

Looking back Lord, I understand that happiness is key to having a love-filled relationship. And from my experiences also, I know You hold that key.

God, I want You to open the door of joy in our lives so that this relationship will endure. It will easily endure ups and downs and the trials of time.

Let me breathe in the aroma of sweet love and fully immerse myself in the happiness given by my partner. Father, I give thanks to Your name over the answered prayers, Amen.

Prayer for the One You Love

Love is the emotion that drives me here Lord. I love him/her enough to pray on his/her behalf and You love me enough to make level all my worries. Father, I need You to take good care of “Name”.

He/she, despite the act, is always in need of Your favour and I pray that You show him/her more than enough. He/she shall be protected, raised heads about others, and miracles will be performed in his or her life.

Praises be sung about Your everlasting mercy, and In Jesus Name, Amen.

Prayer for Love and Marriage

As required by every child Lord, I bring my beloved to ask for Your blessing. He or she has been faithful, caring, and patient—so, I stand before You today, basking in Your glow as I ask that he/she be the one for me.

I want a peaceful and joy-filled marriage that'll be inseparable. Love shall be shared between us and there will be calm always. Father, prosperity in the areas of procreation, financial stability, and spiritual awareness shall complement our love.

I thank You for Your daily attention to my needs, Amen.

Bible Verses for Love

A few bible verses compiled for your consumption daily.

“Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken man.” That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.” — Genesis 2:22-24

The relationship between man and wife has been established from the beginning. Such meetings with your significant others are thus ordained by God.

“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.

Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

” — Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Completion cannot be attained without a significant other. In fact, life isn't so simple without your other and the verse above explains what that is about.

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” —  1 Corinthians 13:4-8

This is the kind of love that our Father has towards us. It's also the kind of love that we should emulate towards each other (significant other, friends, and family).

“A friend loves at all times.” — Proverbs 17:17

The word “friend” isn't limited to your close pals only. It's a position that can be filled by God, your partner, and family.

Prayers for Healing

Prayer For Discipline Through Love

Last updated: January 4, 2018

Prayers for healing can illustrate firsthand the incredible power of prayer. Through prayer for the sick and poor in health, we can find comfort in the most trying of times. Use these prayers, and keep them in your heart so they can remind you of God’s nearness.

The following prayers have been curated by pastors and clergy, while some come from rare, out-of-print prayer books.

God has been in the business of answering prayers for healing for a long time. Use these prayers as examples, and submit your own public prayer request at the bottom of this page.

Lord, I come before you today in need of your healing hand.
In you all things are possible. Hold my heart within yours, and renew my mind, body, and soul.

I am lost, but I come to you with grace.

You gave us life, and you also give us the gift ofinfinite joy. Give me the strength to move forward on the path you’ve laid out for me.Guide me towards better health, and give me the wisdom to identify those you’ve placed

around me to help me get better.

In your name I pray, Amen.

Think, o God, of our friend who is ill, whom we now commend to Your compassionate regard.

Comfort him upon his sickbed, and ease his suffering. We beg for deliverance, and submit
that no healing is too hard for the Lord, if it be His will.

We therefore pray that You bless our friend with Your loving care, renew his strength,
and heal what ails him in Your loving name.

Thank You, Lord.

All our times are in Thy hand. All diseases come at Thy call, and go at Thy bidding.Thou redeemest our life from destruction, and crownest us with loving kindness and tender mercies. We bless Thee, that Thou hast heard prayer, and commanded deliverances for our friend and

Thy servant, who has been under Thine afflicting hand.

He (or she) was brought low, but Thou hast helped him (her).
May he (she) not only live, but declare the works of the Lord!

As Thou hast delivered his eyes from tears, his feet from falling, and his soul from death, may he daily inquire:What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits towards me,and

resolve to offer unto Thee the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and to call upon the name of the Lord.

May we ever remember that recovery is only a reprieve andthat some day we will go to our rest in the Lord.

May we therefore secure the righteous path and live with eternity ever in our view.

Dear Lord, You are the Just judge, Holy and True. You are the Most High God. You give us life.
You hold all power in your hands.

You are the Mighty one from God who carries the world, and is ruler over all the earth. You Oh Most Blessed One are the giver of life. In you are only good things. In you is mercy and love. In you is healing of the nations.

In you is freedom of worry and freedom of pain.

Lord Almighty, You loved us so much. You were sent from your Father, sent to save us from destruction. We truly can never make it to Heaven without the help of Jesus the Son,

who was sent to earth to help us.

You, Lord are full of mercy and grace, please forgive us for our faults.Lord Jesus, in you all healing is performed. You Lord are the miracle worker. In your Spirit, your gift of healing is alive. In you Lord we can put our trust that you can heal us,

and protect us from the enemy, and death of our soul.

You, Lord are miracle worker for the sick, and for the lost souls. You, Lord forgive us and save us from condemnation. You cleanse us and make us born again new.

You give us a clean heart full of peace. You Lord are the Light.

In You is all truth. Your way Lord is the way to Heavenly Hope.Your hands Lord created the universe. You Lord are the True giver of Life.

Every child is a miracle of Life. Life rests in Your Hands.

Wrap us as a close knit family, draw us near to you Lord, and bind us with your Loving Hands.Let us be drawn closer to You. You are the Vine, dear Lord and we are the branches.

You carry all knowledge and all power. You Lord are our medicine. Your Words Lord are Truth and Life.

Help us put our trust in You. You Lord are the greatest physician. You heal, You protect, You care, You love, You are kind, You are patient,

You are thoughtful, You are strength. You Lord are our Creator.

You know our thoughts, our sighings and our cryings and every hair on our head.
You are Wonderful and make all good things for us. Heal us Lord, if it be Your will.

Amen

Lord, Your scripture says that you heal all diseases and whoever believes in You will not perish but have an everlasting life. Strengthen me, Lord, in this time of illness. Sustain him as he lays sick in his bed. When You were on Earth, you did all things good and healed all kinds of sickness.

You healed those who had diseases. You died and rose for our sins and that we may have eternal life, Lord. I believe in my heart that You are here with us today and that with Your most holy power will remove all sicknesses and evils that roam the earth. Let it be done in Your glory, Lord.

We praise and glorify Your name, Amen.

Most gracious and loving Father, I want to thank You for all the blessings Youve given me, my family and friends and all those I hold dear.

Thank You Lord for giving me another day to see the beauty of your creations. You know the state of crisis that I am in now Lord. I want to be of use again to You, Lord. In the time of my hospitalization, You Lord remain as my rock and my anchor.

You stand as my lighthouse giving me hope. I pray Lord that you will heal me soon.

In Jesus name, Amen.

Dear Lord, Guide my doctor’s hands and give him wisdom.

Show him the way and help him to heal me.

I put my faith in you and the medical professionals that you have brought to me.

Almighty Father, Thank you for your love, grace and mercy. I pray that my discomforts will turn to comforts, my pains to gains, my deprivation to more blessings, my losses to profits, my tear to smiles, my sorrows to pleasures, my illness to wellness, my debts to credits and my dreams to realities.

As the scripture said “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” And he “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

I trust in you Lord and in you alone to heal me with any form of skepticism towards blessing that you will be employed upon me. I trust, Lord, that this agony and suffering that is only in my head, will come to end and positivism will shine upon me as I read, hear, study and preach the truth in the Bible.

What does the Bible say about healing?

“Behold, blessed is the one whom God reproves; therefore despise not the discipline of the Almighty. For he wounds, but he binds up; he shatters, but his hands heal.”

[Job 5:17-18]

“And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospelof the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.”

[MATTHEW 4:23]

“And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spoke unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.”

[LUKE 9:11]

“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another that you may be healed. The fervent prayer of a righteous man is effective and has great strength.”

[JAS 5:16]

Spiritual Disciplines Sermon: Prayer (Colossians 4)

Prayer For Discipline Through Love

And every time we see Jesus praying He was praying with passion.

In Luke 3:1 at His Baptism – while He was praying the heaven was opened. Passionate prayer opens Heaven.

In Luke 6:12 before He called His disciples – He spent the whole night in prayer. Passionate prayer opens the windows of heaven and shines God's light of direction on our path.

In Luke 9:29 at His transfiguration – And while He was praying, the appearance of His face became different, and His clothing became white and gleaming. Passionate prayer ushers us into the throne room of heaven and enables us to experience the glory of the Father.

In John 17 He prayed for all of those who would follow Him, that we would be kept from the evil one and that we would be sanctified by the truth, which is His word. Passionate prayer expresses the deepest desires of our hearts and reveals our love for others.

In Luke 22:44, where Jesus is praying through the night in the garden of Gethsemane, the bible says,» And being in agony, He was praying very fervently; and His sweat became drops of blood, falling down upon the ground.» Passionate prayer enables us to be totally honest with God, even in the midst of the most trying circumstances.

In Luke 23:24 as He hung on the cross. Passionate prayer is a portal to God's power. It strengthens us internally and is often a conduit for God's grace upon us.

Jesus always prayed with passion, because He knew Who it was He was talking to and He knew that access to the Father is a powerful thing and not something to take lightly.

Prayer from the heart, that's what passionate prayer is, it is prayer from the heart not just from the head. Think about the last time you were passionate about something. We should never lose the passion when we talk to God. Jesus was always passionate when He prayed and that's how He wants us to pray.

In fact, He taught us to pray this way, not only through His example, but specifically through His teaching In Matthew 6:7, in the Sermon on the Mount as Jesus instructs on prayer, He gives us what has become known as the Lord's Prayer. But just before the Lord's prayer what does He say?

«When you pray, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do.»

(Jews around the world may now send prayers via fax to the Western Wall)

What has happened to the Lord's Prayer? People repeat it as if it were some kind of magic mantra that will bless them or move God to hear them.

They are doing with it is exactly what He was instructing us not to do with it.

The gentiles, when they prayed tried, through their religious repetitions, with their chants and their mantras to call forth or impress their Gods. That is not what you do when you are in a relationship.

James 5:16 says, «The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.»

If we are going to be disciples of Jesus Christ, to take up our cross and follow Him, it will require us to be passionate in our prayer life. But not only must we pray persistently and passionately, we must pray gratefully. Look at the last part of verse 2.

III. Pray gratefully — pray with thanksgiving

A constant theme which should run through our prayers is that of gratitude. Paul never fails to mention it.

  • Ephesians 5:20 tells us that thanksgiving is the natural result of being filled with and walking under the influence of the Holy Spirit.
  • Philippians 4:6 tells us to be anxious for nothing but in everything we should pray, giving thanks as we make our petitions known to God.
  • First Thessalonians 5:18 tells us that giving thanks at all times is God's will for us in Christ Jesus.
  • Colossians 3:17 says that as believers everything we say or do should be done in the name of the Lord Jesus as we give thanks to Him.
  • First Timothy 4:4  says that food and marriage are good things given to us by God and are to be received with thanksgiving and gratitude.

Expressing gratitude as we pray accomplishes several things:

a. It articulates dependence – It says you know who God is, you know who you are and you are aware, at least to some degree, of how desperate you would be were it not for His providence and presence in your life.

When we pray it should always express our understanding that every breath we take is, in fact, a gift from God. Failure to pray with gratitude demonstrates a sense of self-reliance and self sufficiency that is insulting to God. Which brings me to my second observation here about the expression of gratitude, not only does it articulate dependence

b. It generates humility – expressing gratitude continues to remind us of how truly helpless we are without God.

Everything in this world, our flesh, the world system, the people around us, all try and reinforce the idea of a self-made man. But everything in God's word speaks to the contrary. Micah 6:8 says, «He has told you, oh man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness and to walk humbly with your God.»

c. Expressing Gratitude demonstrates relationship – It says we know that He is our Father and that we are His children and as His children we know He loves us and has provided for us that love.

Folks, there are few things as disappointing or heart breaking as an ungrateful child. When we fail to express gratitude we are taking God for granted and assuming that we somehow deserve His grace and His kindness. Nothing could be further from the truth.

We are blessed because Jesus has made it possible, through His death, burial and resurrection, for us to be adopted into the family of God.

The benefits we enjoy are the benefits of relationship, and when we express our gratitude it demonstrates the reality of that relationship.

When we pray with persistence and with passion, it enables us to express the depth of our gratitude to God who loves us so much, and so desires to be in fellowship with us that He sent Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, to die on a cross so that we could have forgiveness of sins and fellowship with God. What greater thing is there than this? And is this not sufficient reason to give thanks as we pray?

Pray with gratitude. But there's more. Look at verse 3 where we are instructed to

IV. Pray selflessly — we must pray for others

Intercessory prayer is basically praying for others, it is praying for God's will to be done in the lives of other people.

Not only is there far too little prayer being offered these days, but much of what is offered is purely selfish. Lord give me this, Lord give me that; do this for me; do that for me.

Read the prayers of Jesus and you find that a large majority of His prayer life was devoted to praying for others.

Intercessory prayers characterized the prayer life of Jesus.

  • Isaiah 53:12 says, «He Himself bore the sins of many, and interceded for the transgressors.»
  • Luke 22:23 Jesus tells Peter, «I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail.»
  • Luke 23:34 on the cross, Jesus was praying for others when He said, «Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing.»
  • John 14:15 Jesus interceded for us, asking the Father to send the Holy Spirit
  • John 17:19 He prayed for us, the church, in His High Priestly prayer. Listen to the intercessory nature of this prayer, «I ask on their behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but of those whom Thou has given Me.»
  • Romans 8:34 tells us that Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father, making intercession for us.
  • And Hebrews 7:25 says, «Hence, also, He is able to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.»

Jesus prayed intercessory prayers, He was ever praying for others.

Understanding the power of Prayer, Paul wanted to be sure the Colossian Christians understood what it was they were to pray for. He wanted them to pray with a specific purpose. He wanted them to pray for him, asking God to open a door so that they could speak the gospel.

It was the gospel that Paul lived for; it was the preaching of the gospel that had landed Paul in prison; it was the preaching of the gospel that was ever on the forefront of Paul's mind. You see, Paul was about following the great commission.

He was about making disciples of all nations.

One of the most misunderstood realities of discipleship, which is the goal of spiritual discipline, is that it is never a purely selfish thing.

God's purpose in making us more Jesus is not an end unto itself, it is always purposeful, He wants to conform you to the image of Jesus so that you can continue on with the work of Jesus. In John 20:21 Jesus says, «As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.

» Our purpose in spiritual growth is not merely to enjoy the personal benefits of fellowship with God, though this is certainly a glorious benefit.

It is ultimately to become more useful in the kingdom and to carry out the great commission of making disciples of all nations and of embodying the great command which is to love the Lord our God with all that we are and to love our neighbors as ourselves. This finds its ultimate expression when we help others come into a personal relationship with Jesus.

Note that Paul is not asking them to pray for his legal situation or that he would be released from prison. He is asking them to pray that he will have the opportunity to lead someone to Christ. He is focused on the Kingdom of God; on helping them become the Christians they need to become so that God can use them to accomplish the things they need to accomplish.

Paul was always concerned with doing the will of God.

How many of our prayers are directed at the expansion of His eternal kingdom rather than the expansion of our petty kingdoms? If you were able to chronicle your prayers, knowing how much time you spent praying for different things, how much of your time would be spent praying for your family, for their health, for the health and well being of your loved ones, compared to how much time you were praying for the lost who are headed to hell?

We are called to pray for others.

There are three things I would say to you this morning about your prayer life, three things you need to examine as you pray:

1. Examine your heart attitude – because prayer is fellowship with God and is a direct reflection of our relationship with Him, it always involves our heart attitude. If you are in love with Him, your prayer life will reflect that love. Prayer begins in our hearts. It is an outpouring of our heart towards God and always reveals the truth about how we feel towards Him.

2. Measure your words – Prayer begins in our hearts but makes its way to our lips. This is what the psalmist means in Psalm 19 when he says, «may the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight…» God hears what we say. Be careful what you say because God is always listening and holds us accountable for every idle word, especially words spoken in prayer.

3.

Release your life – How can you expect God to take you seriously if you are not at least willing to participate in God's answer to your prayer? Can you seriously pray for lost people to come to Christ if you are not willing to share with them? Can you honestly pray for God to meet the material needs of another if you are not willing to contribute some of what God has entrusted to you? You see if we are going to be effective in our prayer life, we must first be sold out and willing to take action when God responds. Your involvement may be part of His answer to your prayer.

What does your prayer life look this morning? Are you persistent in prayer? Are your prayers passionate or are they perfunctory? Are they filled with intensity and fervor or are they weak, timid and lacking faith? What about gratitude? How much time have you spent thanking God for all He has done for you? And who are you praying for? Is there anyone in your life that you are praying will get saved? Is there a burden on your heart to see God's kingdom expand, to see His will done?

What would happen in your life if you really began to pray? If you became a disciplined prayer warrior? If, instead of doing some of the things you are in the habit of doing which have no eternal consequence, you were to dedicate that time to prayer? What would happen in your family if you began to pray for them more, what would happen here at your church if you prayed for God to move in our midst? What would happen in your heart if you prayed regularly that God would search you and know your heart and cleanse you from any attitude or action which was keeping you from being more Jesus? What's keeping you from prayer and is it really worth it?

Prayer #7

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for this life together, for the gift of our love, and the blessing of our marriage. We give you praise and thanks for the joy you’ve poured into our hearts through this bond of love we share.

Thank you for the contentment of family, and the happiness of our home. May we always treasure the experience of loving each other in this holy union. Help us to remain forever committed to our vows, the promises we made to each other, and to you, Lord.

We need your strength daily, Lord, as we live together with the goal of following, serving, and honoring you. Develop within is us the character of your Son, Jesus, that we might love each other with the love he demonstrated—with patience, sacrifice, respect, understanding, honesty, forgiveness, and kindness.

Allow our love for each other to be an example to other couples. May others seek to imitate our commitment to marriage and our dedication to God. And may others be inspired as they see the blessings we enjoy because of our faithfulness in marriage.

Let us always be a support to one another—a friend to listen and encourage, a refuge from the storm, a companion to lean on, and, most importantly, a warrior in prayer.

Holy Spirit, guide us through the difficult moments of life and comfort us in our grief. May our lives together bring glory to you, our Savior, and testify of your love.

In the name of Jesus we pray.

Amen.

Prayer #9

Heavenly Father, I pray on today that you would help me to be a better wife to my husband. Teach me your ways oh Lord so that I may know them, and so that you would be pleased with
me.

Help me to show my husband honor as unto you Lord, and encourage him in all that he does. Help me to submit to his authority and not rebel.
For to rebel against him, is to rebel against you. Give me discernment Lord to know what to say, how to say it, and when not to say anything at all. Fill my mouth with good things so that I can build him up with my words.

Let me be that safe, soft place that he can rest on when the world has beaten him down. Let me be the lifter of his head. I thank you for making me a suitable help meet for him. Thank you for making me a Godly wife, so that you may be glorified. In Jesus name, Amen.

Prayer #10

Lord Jesus,

Grant that I and my spouse may have a true and understanding love for each other. Grant that we may both be filled with faith and trust.

Give us the grace to live with each other in peace and harmony.

May we always bear with one another’s weaknesses and grow from each other’s strengths.

Help us to forgive one another’s failings and grant us patience, kindness, cheerfulness and the spirit of placing the well-being of one another ahead of self.

May the love that brought us together grow and mature with each passing year. Bring us both ever closer to You through our love for each other.

Let our love grow to perfection.

Amen.

Prayer #11

Father God, help me to be a better husband to my wife. Teach me how to make her my number one priority and demonstrate to her her true value. Let my actions and decisions be trust worthy, and fair. Show me how to listen to her and welcome her counsel in my times of decision making.

Make me aware of any plan, or scheme the enemy has launched against my wife so that I may stand against the adversary by the power of your might. Help me to be a lover of your word so that I may fight the enemy’s attacks with your word!

Teach me not be overbearing where she is concerned, and never demanding. But instead show me how to demonstrate your perfect love to her. Help me to love her as you love the church. In Jesus name, Amen.
