Prayer For All Babies

A Prayer for the Mom with Small Children

Prayer For All Babies

She was pushing a double stroller at 7:30 a.m. I spotted her at the end of the sidewalk and pulled my dogs over into the grass where I had them sit until she passed. It was the respectful thing to do. Let’s be honest, there wasn’t room on the sidewalk for all of us. Her huge stroller. My over-sized dog.

Monster Mutt

When she drew even with me, she thanked me. That was when I saw the newborn strapped to her chest.

Three babies. All under the age of 4-years-old.

“Bless you,” I said.

She laughed ruefully.

Before she could get too far away, I added – “I have five.”

“I don’t know how you do that,” she said, her voice weary.

“Well, they are big now…”

“And you survived,” she said.

“Yes, honey, and you will too.”

When they were small…

She walked on. I jingled the leashes and turned toward home as the emotions of those years when all of my children were small flooded back upon me. There was always the conflict between my fierce love for my babies and the crushing weight of caring for them day after day.

“The days are long but the years are short,” someone said to me during that time. That was truth.

My heart ached for that weary mother this morning. As I resumed my walk, I prayed for her and it went something this prayer I wrote on my blog, which FaithGateway has now made available as a free download.

Prayer for the Mom with Small Children

Here’s the Text Version of the Prayer for the Mom with Small Children

Jesus,

Please renew her strength for the tasks ahead of her today. Give her wisdom, patience, and… courage. Her job is the hardest one in the world.

And when the crying, the endless chaos, the never ending demand of caring for her small children pushes her to the breaking point and she loses her patience, please Jesus, help her grant herself grace.

Please provide some kind someone to offer her a helping hand: someone to rock a baby for awhile, or read her toddler a book, or take her pre-schooler to the park.

Could you give her the equivalent of the stay at home mom lottery and cause all of her babies to take a three hour nap… at the same time?

And a hot shower too during which not one child cries.

Grant her the treasure of a cup of tea, a Psalm, and a simple prayer – lead her beside still waters, Compassionate Christ, for she needs You.

Let her find a piece of chocolate in the back of the pantry she forgot was there.

Give her a good friend to walk beside her on her journey.

I pray that she would have moments of pure joy with each of her babies today. Let them make her smile and laugh out loud so that she might taste the reward of her labors.

And when her husband walks in the door tonight, give him your eyes to see her. May he be overwhelmed by her sacrifice for his children. May he see her as more beautiful than ever before because she is pouring her life out for those babies. Let him take her in his arms and tell her so and then, Jesus, prompt him to roll up his sleeves and bathe a kid because they are in this together.

I pray that no one fights bedtime, no one has a night terror, and that the baby sleeps until morning light.

One more thing, Jesus, be very near to this mom in the moment when the last child is in bed and she sits in the quiet alone. She will be so tired and that is the very moment the accuser will come to whisper his worst. He will remind her of everything she should have done that she didn’t.

He will run the replay of each moment of irritability, and every time she reached the end of her rope. Silence him, sweet Christ. May your voice be the only voice she hears.

May she find rest in you and assurance that when she has given all she has and finds that in her humanity it is simply not enough, You most certainly do not condemn her.

You make up the difference.

Amen

5 Good Prayers for Premature Babies

Prayer For All Babies

A premature baby is born more susceptible to illness due to their weakened immune system and inability to fully develop in some areas. To help quick the healing process, recite any of these great prayers for premature babies.

Prayer #1

God bless the little child behind the plastic wall For all he knows is the ringing of the bells and the blurred images around him. He has been taken from my womb without warning and I long to hold him

in my arms.

Lord, I ask in your name that my child be healed. I am willing to accept your decision no matter what it will be. I am willing to take on the responsibilities for caring for this child. I am willing to give this

child love and understanding no matter the cost.

Please Lord help me to accept reality and what has happened without explanation or warning. Help me face the fact that this is not my fault and that

I was given a special task to complete here on Earth.

God give my child the strength to make it through another second, minute, hour and day as each moment is

a blessing and a triumph from heaven.

God, may you give the strength and compassion to the caregivers and nurses that take care of my child May you keep my child protected and free from all injury

and pain.

Please take away the guilt and burden from my heart dear Lord. It is heavy and I feel it is all my fault. Take it away dear Lord. Sweet Jesus allow me the stregnth and understanding I need to communicate with the Doctors

and Nurses.

As you see dear Lord, I am at your mercy for the life of my child. Please leave him here on Earth and know that I will provide all the love and understanding that this child needs. I accept the challenge and will be

your humble servant dear Lord.

Prayer #2

Dear God,

I have a request to make. Just a moment of your time it will take. You see, my parents, are heartbroken and sad,

and they have prayed to you with all they had.

Could you just hug them and remind them you care, as they are wishing I was at home, not here. This time is confusing, un how they pictured it would be,

But I want them to know that you take care of me.

Although I am sleeping in this little bed, and I am often too tired to raise my little head, please remind them that I know they did their very best.

And that at night I am protected as I sleep upon your chest.

They think I am so lonely when they are away,
and if I could tell them, I would say

“I know this is hard, and God understands, But just know He has never let go of my hand. He is always with me, He is with you,

and all this has a purpose too.”

And God, while I am in this temporary N.I.C.U. home,
I just want them to know I have never been alone.

Prayer #3

Dear God, as you look down upon us, We know that you might have to squint. We’re located here in the NICU

It’s the nursery that we rent.

There are many alarms and sirens, Connected to condos and flats. The nurses tape our booties on,

And dress us in funny hats.

We have a lot in common; All of us were in a hurry. For many different reasons,

Our storks came a little early.

Some of us don’t know why, We bursted out from our bubbles. We entered into this world,

Never meaning to cause any troubles.

Mommy and Daddy are worried sick About the odds that we must beat. Please God, help them to realize,

That seeing us grow is a treat.

Breath by breath, we’ll learn to breathe. Ounce by ounce we’ll tip the scale. We’re a boat in the ocean,

That knows not sink- only sail.

For we are living miracles, Mommy and Daddy must simply believe, That you have angels watching over us;

From the time we arrive, till the time we leave.

Prayer #4

Our gracious heavenly father, thank you for this precious child that you have given this family. Lord, we know from your Word that you never leave us or forsake us. We call upon your name for comfort in our hour of need for you are our strength, our only refuge, and we seek peace in this time of uncertainty.

Our hearts are overwhelmed with fear and doubt. You, Lord, are the Great Healer. We ask that you pour out your great healing power on this precious little lamb of yours. Bless and keep this little one surrounded with your abundant love and mercy. This is the prayer of our hearts.

We ask these things in the precious

name of your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Prayer #5

Almighty God, bless this dear child, born before their time, yet made in your image and perfect in your sight and Father, we ask that if it be Thy will, that this beautiful infant grow strongers and healthier with each passing day. Give us, O Lord, the strength to entrust to your care, this precious little one so very much beloved, and grant us the grace to pray as Jesus taught us,

that ‘Thy will be done.’

6 Prayers For Fertility or a New Baby

Prayer For All Babies

There are so many blessings that come with having children! The pitter patter of little feet running through the halls and the laughter accompanying it always makes me smile! Whether you are a parent already or trying to have your first child, you can be assured that children are one of the biggest blessings you have or will have ever.

With that said I know some of you are having difficulties with having kids and my heart goes out to you. I understand this as well. I have been through miscarriages in the past and I understand how frustrating it is to try and conceive as well. It took 2 ½ years of trying before my little girl was formed in her mom’s womb. Stay strong in the Lord, and He will sustain you.

Here are 6 prayers that you can pray for fertility or a new baby.

Real Rewards

“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.” (Psalm 127:3)

Gracious Father,

I cannot thank You enough for blessing me with my children. I am in awe every day that I look at them and see myself in their eyes.

I remember being a child and being loved by my parents and I also thank You for them, Lord! I want to love my kids even better than my parents loved me, and I hope my children will strive to love their own children, someday, better than I have loved them.

I am overjoyed at how they want and desire love from me. I am more than willing to shower them with my love, Father! Thank You for these wonderful kids of mine! I love You, Lord! Amen

Fertility Issues/Troubles

“Behold now, the Lord has prevented me from bearing children.” (Genesis 16:2a)

Abba, Father,

I feel forgotten, Lord. I have cried out to You! I long for a baby of my own, Father. I can’t rely on my own abilities and strength anymore. You are the giver of life and I come to You now. Father, hear my prayer! I desperately want a child of my own. I understand why Sarah was so depressed in Genesis, Lord.

She was very old when You gave her a child. Father, if it be Your will, I beg of You, give me a child of my own that I can love on and raise through Your standards.

I will memorize scripture with them! I will show them how to love others with a “Christ-” love! O Father, I am at Your mercy and I pray for deliverance from infertility. I love You! Amen

Surround Us

“When ye frequently, and in numbers meet together, the powers of Satan are overthrown, and his mischief is neutralized by your -mindedness in the faith.” – Ignatius of Antioch

Dear Lord,

I thank you for my newborn! His/her eyes are so beautiful when they are open! I am in awe of how You have brought this tiny little baby into my arms! I praise Your Name, Lord! I ask now that You would have our friends, family and church family surround us with their love and wisdom, Lord. I pledge to raise this baby in Your church, Father. May it be that our church family will surround this little one with love, affection, wisdom and song. I love You, Lord! Amen

Strength To Persevere

“How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and everyday have sorrow in my heart?” (Psalm 13:1-2)

Father,

I am at rock bottom. My wife and I have been trying for 2 ½ years to have a little baby. I don’t even want to try anymore, Lord. What is the fun in hoping for something that doesn’t seem it is going to happen? Father, I have nothing left in me.

I don’t even want to try anymore to have a child. It is ruining the intimate moments with my wife. We aren’t even enjoying each other. We are exhausted, Lord. I pray for Your strength to press on.

Father, if it be Your will, please give us another baby! We are at Your humble mercy, Lord. I love You! Amen

Salvation

“Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved.” (Romans 10:1)

Father, God

You alone have the power to give life in Heaven and death in Hell. I pray for the salvation of my newborn. Father, I pray that by the way I teach my child Your scriptures and truth that he/she will hold fast to Your Word and never walk away.

I pray that they will retain the knowledge that they learn and put it to good use in the way they conduct themselves as they grow older. I can’t imagine life without my baby now, and I can’t imagine life without them in Heaven either! Give me patience when they are in sin.

May I always show them love even when it doesn’t make sense to them. Jesus showed His accusers love by asking You to forgive them, Father, while He gave His own life up for humanity.

May I always have that kind of love for my own kids, that they may grow up knowing You are the One and True God! I love You! Amen

Infertile

“I am weary with my moaning; every night I flood my bed with tears; I drench my couch with my weeping.” (Psalm 6:6)

Father in Heaven,

You already knew the results of my test before it came back. Lord, there is no chance for me to have babies! I feel so inadequate and abnormal. I don’t feel a man today. I feel a failure.

Lord, I know you see me differently, but being a man that cannot give my wife the precious gift of children is killing me! How do I move on from here? My wife and I wanted so badly a child of our own flesh and blood, and now that dream has become a nightmare.

Father, I have no idea how to process this. I need You now more than ever. Lord, I still want children! Father, if not through my own marriage, please lead us to a child we can adopt.

I want to love on a child with the love of Jesus! Father, help me through this as I grieve over my own incapability to bring a child into this world. I need to feel Your presence surrounding me, Father. I need You! I love You! Amen

Conclusion

Whether you have a new born or are having fertility issues, stay in prayer with God. He is always available. If anyone needs prayer, please let me know and I will pray for you. As I said above, I have dealt personally with miscarriages and fertility issues as well. May God bless you as you live a life worthy of the calling!
