Prayer For Abortion Healing

Healing abortion guilt and grief

Prayer For Abortion Healing

There is no grief the grief that does not speak.
~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

It was just another box of old belongings to be sorted for our cross-country move. But the brightly colored cloth journal caught my eye and caused my heart to skip a beat. With equal anticipation and dread I sat down and thumbed through pages written over thirty years earlier.

Had I saved the receipt?

Yes, there it was.

Dated June 16, 1978, the yellowed 3 x 5 carbon noted my name and address, the name and location of the abortion facility, and a fee of $165.00 marked paid in full, in cash.I cried softly as I read these facts I’d buried but not laid to rest so many years ago.

This January marks the 40th Anniversary of the Roe v Wade decision making abortion legal for any reason. But the date may go largely unmarked by those abortion has impacted the most—the millions of women who chose it.

One in three women of childbearing age has had at least one abortion. Yet we all feel alone as we wonder what might have been. We miss the children we thought we did not want but now wish we could have known and loved.

Our hearts long to be forgiven but seldom sense it is so.

This is the ache of parental grief after abortion.

Counselor Teri Reisser told me, “Awareness of the need to grieve the loss of an aborted child is almost nonexistent in our culture.

” I found this to be true as I’ve researched the need for healing the spiritual wounds of abortion.

Perhaps, because women choose abortion, Reisser says, “They do not feel they have any right to a normal grieving process . . . [yet] they do grieve for the lost child.”

It would be much easier if everyone around us helped us grieve. Unfortunately, quite the opposite happens. Few people know words of comfort for any type of pregnancy loss.

We stumble when we should be the stabilizing support for women who have gone through miscarriage, stillbirth or infant death. We fail to realize how responsible and guilty women may feel as the primary protectors of the life of a child who dies before birth.

And in the case of abortion, we are told the new life within us is not even a child. How to grieve and relieve the guilt when we realize we believed a lie?

Jesus knew the life-giving value of grieving after death. He wept with Mary and Martha after Lazarus died, asking, “Where have you laid him?” (John 11: 34) He went with them to the tomb—not just to remember, but to demonstrate God’s glory. After abortion, he will go with us too. He’ll help us find God in the midst of our loss and grief if we’ll risk facing the truth.

If instead we continue to believe the lie that there is no child to mourn, we may clutch the sorrow as the only reminder our child had ever existed. At the same time, as any normal parent wanting love from their child, we have this ache. The ache, somewhere deep in our hearts, is for our unborn child.

Only there is no outlet, no child present, and none even acknowledged as lost.

In our isolation and shame we think: I can’t seem to get over this, so there must be something wrong with me. Guilt and grief compete for our emotions as guilt demands we reject our sin, and grief requires us to accept our loss.

I wrestled the pain of these conflicting emotions for twenty-three years until I received God’s mercy and accepted that there is truly no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus and who live according to the Spirit and not according to the flesh (Romans 8:1).

Embracing the reality of redemption starts our healing journey.

Soon afterward a woman I barely knew confessed an abortion in very plain terms. Her simple honesty made it safe for me to speak the truth. And something amazing happened.

When I confessed, my heartbreak began to be healed. I felt the love of Jesus Christ enter into the space in my heart I had always kept closed just for the memory of that day.

I knew without doubt that my child is safe with the Savior in heaven.

Such mercy! Such blessed relief and joy—as if I’d been handed a new life. And that’s just what God did for me. He assured me that my child was not destroyed forever. And he helped me receive the forgiveness he secured for me on the cross. He has made everything new.

As we confess to God our guilt is removed (Psalm 32:5) and as we confess and pray with others our grief is healed (James 5:16). Being forgiven allows us to forgive others.

This wasn’t always easy for me—especially forgiving those who lied and said it wasn’t a baby, “just tissue.

” But when we obey God and forgive those who don’t deserve it, our memories, even painful ones, minister to us in our grief.

Remembering my deep disappointment at hearing my fiancé choose abortion; my fear of being incompetent to parent this little one all alone; how God touched my heart to try to move me to choose life, and how I had been too far gone to listen. Surely these memories, though painful, spoke of me having had a mother’s heart even though I had failed to find a way to act that love. This gives me hope—I know God can build on the smallest seeds of love.

Healing continued in a post-abortion Bible study where I gave honor and dignity to my child in heaven. I gave him the name Immanuel, and he is part of my forever family.
As I look back now, I am so grateful for that receipt which witnesses my child’s all-too-brief life and devastating death.

Tucked away unread for all those years, that small slip of paper helped me begin to be able to tell the story. Facing the truth of all I lost has moved the grief from my heart into healing conversations with friends and family who care.

They have helped me see that I’m not who I was when I made that fatal mistake.

And today I can say God’s grace has replaced my guilt and grief.

I’m guessing you’re different now too.

So, what’s your story? Where have you laid the past aside, but not put it to rest?I would count it a privilege to listen in confidence and help you remember the child you never met.

I join my heart with yours to pray God will provide others in your church, your family, your circle of friends who will patiently help you to process your loss. As Jesus goes with us to grieve, he gives us peace.

His love binds up the wounds of our hearts.

I’m praying the time for your healing has come.

On the question of abortion and rape, the lack of clear apologetics may open the door for us speak truth, but fail to articulate our convictions.

The 8th Planned Parenthood Video + A Prayer at the Protest, and Counsel for Healing from an Abortion

Prayer For Abortion Healing

C. S. Lewis once wrote in the preface to the Screwtape Letters,

The greatest evil is not now done in those sordid “dens of crime” that Dickens loved to paint. It is not done even in concentration camps and labour camps. In those we see its final result.

But it is conceived and ordered (moved, seconded, carried, and minuted) in clean, carpeted, warmed and well-lighted offices, by quiet men with white collars and cut fingernails and smooth-shaven cheeks who do not need to raise their voices.

He could have been writing about Planned Parenthood and StemExpress.

Today (August 25, 2015), The Center for Medical Progress released its eighth video using undercover footage exposing the reality of what goes on behind these closed clinical doors.

LOS ANGELES, Aug.

25-The eighth video in the ongoing controversy over Planned Parenthood’s sale of aborted fetal body parts shows the CEO of StemExpress, LLC, a major buyer of fetal tissue from Planned Parenthood, admitting the company gets “a lot” of intact fetuses, suggesting “another 50 livers a week” would not be enough, and agreeing abortion clinics should profit from the sale://www.centerformedicalprogress.o…

StemExpress is a for-profit biotech supply company that has been partnered with Planned Parenthood clinics across the country to purchase human fetal parts since its founding in 2010. StemExpress’ Medical Director, Dr. Ronald Berman, is an abortion doctor for Planned Parenthood Mar Monte.

In the video, actors posing as another human biologics company meet with StemExpress CEO Cate Dyer, plus Vice President of Corporate Development and Legal Affairs Kevin Cooksy, and Procurement Manager Megan Barr. StemExpress and the actors are discussing a potential partnership to supply extra fetal body parts to each other.

“So many physicians are , ‘Oh I can totally procure tissue,’ and they can’t,” expresses Dyer, seeming to indicate that abortion doctors must do the procedure in a special way to obtain useable fetal parts. Federal law requires that no alteration in the timing or method of abortion be done for the purposes of fetal tissue collection (42 U.S.C. 289g-1).

“What about intact specimens?” asks one of the actors. “Oh yeah, I mean if you have intact cases, which we’ve done a lot, we sometimes ship those back to our lab in its entirety,” replies Dyer. “Case” is the clinical term for an abortion procedure. An “intact case” refers to an intact abortion with a whole fetus.

“The entire case?” asks an actor. “Yeah, yeah,” says Dyer. “The procurement for us, I mean it can go really sideways, depending on the facility, and then our samples are destroyed,” she explains past botched fetal dissections, “so we started bringing them back even to manage it from a procurement expert standpoint.

Feticidal chemicals digoxin cannot be used to kill the fetus in a tissue procurement case, so a fetus delivered intact for organ harvesting is ly to be a born-alive infant.

“What would make your lab happy?” asks one of the actors. “Another 50 livers a week,” says Dyer. “We’re working with almost triple digit number clinics,” Dyer explains, “and we still need more.” She later notes, “Planned Parenthood has volume, because they are a volume institution.”

Dyer also agrees that payments to abortion clinics for fetal body parts should be financially beneficial to them. “Do you feel there are clinics out there that have been burned, that feel they’re doing all this work for research and it hasn’t been profitable for them?” she asks.

“I haven’t seen that.” StemExpress publishes a flyer for Planned Parenthood clinics that promises “Financial Profits” and “fiscal rewards” for clinics that supply aborted fetal tissue. It is endorsed by Planned Parenthood Mar Monte Chief Medical Officer Dr. Dorothy Furgerson: //www.

centerformedicalprogress.o…

The sale or purchase of human fetal tissue is a federal felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison or a fine of up to $500,000 (42 U.S.C. 289g-2). The Sacramento Business Journal reported in June that StemExpress has an annual revenue of $4.5 million.

The video is the eighth released by The Center for Medical Progress in its investigative journalism study of Planned Parenthood’s sale of aborted baby parts.

“StemExpress is the ‘weakest link’ that unravels Planned Parenthood’s baby parts chain-they readily admit the profit-motive that Planned Parenthood and their proxies have in supplying aborted baby parts,” notes David Daleiden, Project Lead for CMP.

“Congress and law enforcement should immediately seize all fetal tissue files from StemExpress and all communications and contracts with Planned Parenthood. The evidence that Planned Parenthood profits from the sale of aborted baby parts is now overwhelming, and not one more dime of taxpayer money should go to their corrupt and fraudulent criminal enterprise.”

Since July 14, 2015, The Center for Medical Progress has posted the following undercover videos of Planned Parenthood’s handing of the body parts of its victims:

1. Protesting Planned Parenthood

John Piper’s recent engagement on this issue is worth noting and emulating.

First, read his piece, “Planned Parenthood: Invitation, Explanation, Indignation,” narrating why he has publicly protested against abortion in the past (including a night in jail for non-violent civil disobedience) and why the time is right to protest again.

He was inviting readers to the Protest Planned Parenthood demonstrations across the country on Saturday, August 22.

Over 65,000 peaceful protesters showed up this weekend at 320 Planned Parenthood clinics across the US, making it the single largest coordinated day of planned protest against abortion.

Second, listen to Piper’s  five-minute prayer at the protest (transcript here):

Finally, read his Saturday evening reflections about the protest that morning, where he offered seven short observations under the following heading:
  1. Christian and ecumenical
  2. Relatively sober
  3. Freedom on public property
  4. Legislators and pro-life leaders
  5. Counter-slogans
  6. Planned Parenthood responds
  7. First timers

I have traced and summarized the development of Piper’s preaching and activism in the essay “‘Abortion is About God: Piper’s Passionate, Prophetic Pro-Life Preaching,” in For the Fame of God’s Name: Essays in Honor of John Piper, ed. Sam Storms and Justin Taylor (Wheaton, IL: Crossway), 328-50. The link will take you to the essay available for free (courtesy of Crossway).

2. Healing from an Abortion

I’m aware that it’s possible that some are seeing the energy and momentum and passion and anger against Planned Parenthood and are not seeing much public effort right now to those in bondage to guilt over their complicity in the act of abortion.

David Powlison (executive director of CCEF) talks through how to heal from guilt and shame after an abortion:

//.com/watch?v=_t5nYy1tAtQ%3Frel%3D0

You can read online the Personal Liturgy of Confession. Powlison begins:

When I counsel with people who struggle with deep feelings of shame, guilt, and regret, I sometimes suggest that they design a personalized liturgy. In what follows, I walk through the example of a woman who has had an abortion, and all that led up to that choice, and all that follows in someone whose conscience is alive. . . .

Designing your own liturgy of confession will help you to think through exactly what you need to bring to God, and what you need from God. It will give you serious words to express your sorrow, regret, guilt and pain over your abortion. It will lead you by the hand to God’s mercy and to his washing away of your sin and guilt.

The parts of this liturgy in italics are taken and adapted from the General Confession of Sin inThe Book of Common Prayer. Even when your thoughts and feelings are chaotic, these words can serve as your guide. They are a channel for honesty.

Instead of wallowing in misery and failure, these words help you to plan how you will walk in the direction of honesty, mercy, gratitude, and freedom.

I suggest that you pray out loud. It helps you to remember that you are talking with someone who is listening. You aren’t just thinking things inside your head. Use this prayer to express the gravity of what happened.

Use it to remind yourself out loud that God’s mercies are deeper than what you did or failed to do. Read through this prayer and meditation first. Then go back through it, writing out your own words to personalize it.

Express your honest story to God in response to hearing what he says to you.

You can print and read the whole thing here.

Prayer to Take Authority, Healing, Protection and Deliverance

Prayer For Abortion Healing

Fr. Amorth (1925 – 2016), Roman Catholic priest and an exorcist, and many other priests have stressed that the number one protection from evil is the Sacrament of Confession and the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. Often times people want esoteric rituals to deliver them from evil, when in reality what they need is to become right with God.

Along with regular Confession and reception of the Holy Eucharist, the following prayers should be coupled with Our Lord’s Prayer and the Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel. Msgr. Esseff, a Roman Catholic priest in the Diocese of Scranton, teaches about the need for healing, protection, and deliverance.

He discusses the importance of the “Our Father” in the following audio:

And these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name they shall cast out devils: they shall speak with new tongues. Mark 16:17

Prayer

In the Name of Jesus Christ, and by the power of His Blood and His Cross, I take authority, and I bind all evil spirits in the air and the fire, in the water and the ground, in the underground and in the netherworld.

I bind all satanic forces and powers in nature.

I bind all curses, hexes and spells, witchcraft and occult activity.

I bind the interaction and interplay of all evil spirits.

In your Name, Jesus Christ, I bind all demonic forces that have come against us and our families and I seal all of us in the protection of your Precious Blood that was shed for us on the Cross.

In the name of Jesus, I bind and command all the powers and forces of evil to depart right now away from us, our families, our homes, and our lands.

Behold, the Cross of the Lord! Begone, all evil powers! Begone to the Foot of the Cross, To be condemned and never to return! The Lion of the tribe of Judah, The Root of David, has conquered!

Alleluia, Alleluia! Alleluia!

Mary Our Mother, we seek Your protection and intercession, with the Sacred Heart of Jesus, for us and our families and surround us with your mantle of love to destroy the enemy.

Holy army of angels, Saint Michael the Archangel, Saint Raphael the Archangel, and our Guardian Angels, come and defend us and our families in battle against all the evil ones that roam the earth.

I praise God for all His heavenly angels, I call them forth now and release them to surround,  fill us and protect this place, with God’s power and blessing, in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Amen

Hail Mary, Full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed be the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now

and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

Prayer Against Malefice from the Greek Ritual

Kyrie eleison. God, our Lord, King of ages, All-powerful and All-mighty, You Who made everything and Who transform everything simply by Your will.

You Who in Babylon changed into dew the flames of the ‘seven-times hotter’ furnace and protected and saved the three holy children. You are the doctor and the physician of our soul. You are the salvation of those who turn to You.

We beseech You to make powerless, banish, and drive out every diabolic power, presence, and machination; every evil influence, malefice, or evil eye and all evil actions

aimed against Your servant [name of person/s].

Where there is envy and malice, give us an abundance of goodness, endurance, victory, and charity. O Lord, You Who love man, we beg You to reach out Your powerful hands and Your most high and mighty arms and send the angel of peace over us, to protect us, body and soul.

May he keep at bay and vanquish every evil power, every poison or malice invoked against us by corrupt and envious people.

Then, under the protection of Your authority may we sing, in gratitude, “The Lord is my salvation; whom should I fear? I will not fear evil because You are with me, my God, my strength, my powerful Lord, Lord of peace,

Father of all ages.”

Yes, Lord our God, be merciful to us, Your image, and save your servant [name of person/s] from every threat or harm from the evil one, and protect him/her by raising him/her above all evil. We ask You this through the intercession of our Most Blessed, glorious Lady, Mary ever Virgin, Mother of God, of the most splendid archangels and all Your saints.

Amen!

Anima Christi

Soul of Christ, sanctify me; Body of Christ, save me; Blood of Christ, inebriate me; Water from the side of Christ, wash me; Passion of Christ, strengthen me; O good Jesus, hear me; within Thy wounds, hide me; let me never be separated from Thee; from the evil one, deliver me; at the hour of my death, call me and bid me come to Thee, that with Thy saints, I may praise Thee

forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer Against Every Evil

Spirit of our God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Most Holy Trinity, Immaculate Virgin Mary, angels, archangels, and saints of heaven, descend upon me. Please purify me, Lord, mold me,

fill me with yourself, use me.

Banish all the forces of evil from me, destroy them, vanish them, so that I can be healthy

and do good deeds.

Banish from me all spells, witchcraft, black magic, malefice, ties, maledictions, and the evil eye; diabolic infestations, oppressions, possessions; all that is evil and sinful, jealously, perfidy, envy;

physical, psychological, moral, spiritual, diabolical aliments.

Burn all these evils in hell,
that they may never again touch me or any other creature in the entire world.

I command and bid all the power who molest me – by the power of God all powerful, in the name of Jesus Christ our Savior, through the intercession of the Immaculate Virgin Mary – to leave me forever, and to be consigned into the everlasting hell, where they will be bound by Saint Michael the archangel, Saint Gabriel, Saint Raphael, our guardian angels, and where they will be crushed under the heel of the Immaculate Virgin Mary.

Amen.

Prayer for Inner Healing

Lord Jesus, You came to heal our wounded and troubled hearts. I beg You to heal the torments that cause anxiety in my heart; I beg You, in a particular way, to heal all who are the cause of sin. I beg You to come into my life and heal me of the psychological harms

that struck me in my early years and from the injuries that they caused through my life.

Lord Jesus, You know my burdens. I lay them all on Your Good Shepherd’s Heart. I beseech You – by the merits of the great, open wound in Your heart-to heal the small wounds that are in mine. Heal the pain of my memories, so that nothing that has happened to me will cause me to remain in pain

and anguish, filled with anxiety.

Heal, O Lord, all those wounds that have been the cause of all the evil that is rooted in my life. I want to forgive all those who have offended me. Look to those inner sores that make me unable to forgive. You Who came to forgive the afflicted of heart, please,

heal my own heart.

Heal, my Lord Jesus, those intimate wounds that cause me physical illness. I offer You my heart. Accept it, Lord, purify it and give me the sentiments of Your Divine Heart.

Help me to be meek and humble.

Heal me, O Lord, from the pain caused by the death of my loved ones, which is oppressing me. Grant me to regain peace and joy in the knowledge that You are the Resurrection and the Life. Make me an authentic witness to Your Resurrection, Your victory over sin and death, Your living presence among us.

Amen.

Prayer for Deliverance

My Lord, you are all powerful, you are God, you are Father. We beg you through the intercession and help of the archangels Michael, Raphael and Gabriel, for the deliverance of our brothers and sisters who are enslaved by the evil one.

All saints of Heaven, come to our aid.

From anxiety, sadness and obsessions, we beg You. Free us, O Lord. From hatred, fornication, envy, we beg You, Free us, O Lord. From thoughts of jealousy, rage, and death, we beg You, Free us, O Lord.

From every thought of suicide and abortion, we beg You, Free us, O Lord. From every form of sinful sexuality, we beg You, Free us, O Lord. From every division in our family, and every harmful friendship, we beg You, Free us, O Lord.

From every sort of spell, malefic, witchcraft, and every form of the occult, we beg You,

Free us, O Lord.

Lord, You Who said, “I leave you peace, My peace I give you,” grant that, through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, we may be liberated from every evil spell and enjoy your peace always. In the name of Christ, our Lord.

Amen.

Victims of abortion – healing

Prayer For Abortion Healing

First of all I regret very much what happened to you when you rejected the gift of life committing the sin of abortion, I unite myself to your suffering and I pray for your spiritual healing.

Whatever was done can not be undone, fortunately God is merciful and forgives us so that we can carry on with our lives.

In order to experience the forgiveness of your sin, you must have a confession with a priest and if it necessary, you must re-confess with pain of having offended God who is the Author of Life.

To err is human, to forgive is divine. God has forgiven you, with the death of his Son Jesus on the cross, your son or daughter has forgiven you too, since he or she is in the Peace of the Lord. Now your must  complete the process of healing by forgiving yourself.

We are all sinners and Jesus rejected the crowd who wanted to stone to death the adulteress woman, he said to them: “Let him who is free from sin, be the one to cast the first stone”. He also said, “Do not judge and you shall not be judged” . God has forgiven you, then, now, do not continue judging and condemning yourself for the sin that God has already forgiven you.

I suggest that you pray to the Virgin of Guadalupe since She is the Patroness of the unborn. She will help you to find peace. Bless your child and baptize it spiritually with your faith in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Never mistrust the Mercy of God. God loves us. May the Lord bless you and keep you, and give you the peace and courage to carry get on with your life.

In so far as your own self forgiveness, you must make mental exercises or affirmations in which you talk to yourself saying for example:

I have sinned, and what I have done is wrong. However God is all Love and Mercy, he has forgiven all my sins with his death on the cross. I am myself at peace with God, now I want to be at peace with myself.

God has said, forgive and you shall be forgiven, so in the name of Jesus I forgive myself. And as a child falls in order to learn how to stand firm and support himself, I also have fallen and have learned from my fall. Now I recognize the evil of sin and I respect God more.

This fall has helped me to begin a new life with more holy fear of God and with more appreciation for life.
This fall helps me to pray for other women so that they won't fall in the same trap. It teaches me to give counsel to those that God will introduce to me and to prevent them from this damage to their lives.

It also helps me to help others who are suffering the pain of the trauma of abortion and its moral and spiritual consequences.

Thanks be to God for the gift of forgiveness. Thank you Lord for healing me and cleansing me with the Precious Blood of Jesus.

Joseph of Jesus and Mary.

Heavenly Father, Almighty God. I humble myself before your Presence. Father of life, Father of all spirits. I have sinned against you, I have broken your commandment that says “You shall not kill” I repent of my crime, I admit my guilt and I ask you to forgive me.

Lord have mercy on me, a sinner. Lord you have appointed repentance for the forgiveness of sins , you have given power to your Church to forgive sins.

Text  from “The Gospel of Life, Evangelium Vitae ”
By the Holy Father, John Paul II

I would to say a special word, to women who have had an abortion. The Church is aware of the many factors which may have influenced your decision, and she does not doubt that in many cases it was a painful and even shattering decision. The wound in your heart may not yet have healed.

Certainly what happened was and remain terribly wrong. But do not give into discouragement and do not lose hope. Try rather to understand what happened and face it honestly. If you have not already done so, give yourself over with humility and trust to repentance.

The Father of Mercies is ready to give you his forgiveness and his peace in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. You will come to understand that nothing is definitively lost and you will also be able to ask forgiveness from your child, who is now living in the Lord.

With the friendly and expert help and advise of other people, and as a result of your own painful experience, you can be among the most eloquent defenders of everyone's right to life.

Through your commitment to life, whereby accepting the birth of other children or by welcoming and caring for those most in need of someone to be close to them, you will become promoters of a new way of looking at human life.

John Paul II

Prayers for healing after surgery

Prayer For Abortion Healing

Do you need a prayer for surgery? Even if nurses take care of hundreds of patients and see them being wheeled into the operating room, we can never be too tired to send out a wish and a prayer for a successful surgery.

Here are 20 short but powerful prayers for nurses, doctors, and patients.

Please pray that at the doctor’s appointment today, my son finds out what is still causing him the extreme pain even after 3 back surgeries and a fusion. The constant pain for the last year is taking such a toll on him spiritually, emotionally, and financially.

The financial issue, or so his “mom” keeps telling him is just material things and can be rearranged and worked on by small baby steps… the other dealing with the pain and what that is doing to him is what needs to be addressed and healed.

And I believe with all of my being that the Heavenly Father, his Divine Healing Son Jesus, and the Blessed Mother Mary will come to his aid, reach down a loving healing hand and help my son heal completely and take away the pain he has been in for well over a year. I ask you to please, please pray along with me. Amen.

I promise to return your compassion and caring by holding and praying each of your names and families., Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
