A Prayer To Produce The Fruit Of The Spirit

Have you noticed that there seems to be an extraordinarily large emphasis on spiritual gifts today? You hardly ever hear anyone talking about spiritual fruit anymore.

While I believe these spiritual gifts serve an important purpose in the Body of Christ, I want you to be equally (if not more) aware of the fruit of the Holy Spirit and how important it is to understand what God is doing in your very own life.

The ministry of the Holy Spirit manifesting His fruit in us is far more important than any spiritual gift.

Many people continue to seek the power and manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit, but they do not place a priority on the call of every believer to a holy life.

Our desire should be to earnestly seek “the Giver and not the gifts” then “all these things (Christ- qualities) shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33) through the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit.

Regardless of what anyone says God still frowns on sin and has called us to be conformed to the image of His dear Son. We must remember that gifts are given, but spiritual fruit is developed.

The fruit of the Spirit (also known as our Spiritual Medicine Chest) comes to us when we receive Jesus Christ as our personal Saviour; however, it only comes as a small seed which must be nurtured and developed in our lives (or watered) through prayer, by reading the Word, and by putting faith into action.

If Christ is in us, then we should be Christ. The fruit of the Spirit is the display of the character of Christ. It is His presence within us that enables us develop the spiritual fruit in our lives. I find it quite fascinating that the Bible both begins and ends talking about fruit.

And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man saying, ‘Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat’… ” — Genesis 2:15-16 “And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding the throne of God and of the Lamb.

In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

— Revelation 22:1-2 God’s Divine Purpose God’s divine purpose for your life is for you to bear spiritual fruit. Your relationship to Jesus is described in John 15:5 in this way, “He is the vine, and we are the branches.

” Again in John 15:16 the Bible declares, “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you. “

In order to bear this fruit, you must be planted and properly rooted spiritually: “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

And he shall be a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper” (Psalm 1:1-3).

If you want to bear spiritual fruit, then you must reject sin, walk in holiness, and delight in God’s law. You must also be planted in the house of God – connected to the Body of Christ.

Hebrews 10:25 tells us not to “forsake the assembling of ourselves together” and Psalm 92:13-14 tells us that: “Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing… “.

A Supernatural Process Bearing fruit is a supernatural process. Jesus produces the fruit and we bear it.

” — John 15:1-2 The purging process is one that many Christians reject because when they go through difficulties in their lives they always think that the devil is attacking them. God prunes productive plants for the same reason a farmer prunes – to produce more fruit.

Jesus’ parable of the barren tree in Luke 13:6-9 illustrates how God works continually and patiently with the unproductive to produce fruit. “A certain young man who had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.

Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, ‘Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it in the ground’? And he answering unto him, ‘Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down’. The Nine Fruit The book of Galatians identifies the Christ- qualities that God wants to produce in our lives: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. ” — Galatians 5:22-23 Notice that the “fruit” of the Spirit is singular (not plural), for there is one fruit revealed in nine separate supernatural manifestations. Peter wrote, “For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ” II Peter 1:8.

We are “filled with these fruits of righteousness only by Jesus Christ to the glory and praise of God. ” Ephesians 5:9 The 1st three fruit focus on your relationship with God. The 2nd three fruit focus on your relationship with others.

The final three fruit focus directly on the individual Love Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

It is when this relationship is established that we can really understand what it means to love.

Joy ‘Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore’ Psalm 16:11 We can all agree that there is no greater joy than in His Presence when you can actually be confident knowing you are right with the Lord.

In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world’ John 16:33 Longsuffering Gentleness Goodness Faith Meekness Meekness is not “weakness”, but rather a slave- submission to God. Your spirit is free from rebellion and pride.

It is the hidden man of the heart – a meek and quiet spirit – which is greatly valued by God (I Peter 3:4).

Meekness or humility is defined as “freedom from pride and arrogance; modest estimation of our own worth. ” Humility or meekness is the opposite of pride.

The Bible says that God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble (I Peter 5:5) , and it is the meek which will inherit the earth Temperance Discerning One’s Fruit Believers beware! There are many people out there wearing sheep’s clothing and are “prophesying” by using divination.

These people may “appear” to be holy; have their Christian bumper sticker; and know all the right phrase “Amen,” “Hallelujah,” “Glory to God,” and “Praise the Lord! ” but watch out — they might just be ravening wolves.

As Jesus said, “You will know them by their fruits,” so watch them carefully.

If these people display the fruit of the Holy Spirit, you can be assured that they are “good trees”; and if they don’t, there is a good chance that they are “corrupt trees” in need of God’s saving grace.

Jesus says in Matthew 7:15-20, Matthew 12:33 and 2nd Corinthians11:14: “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. “And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

” “Either make the tree good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt; for the tree is known by his fruit.

” Back to my earlier statement most believers lay so much emphasis on Spiritual gifts and as such judges one’s spirituality by the gifts he possesses forgetting that The word of God says in those that are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God (Romans 8:14) and it further says that it even bears witness with our spirit so if it does not bear witness with your spirit then it knoweth you not. For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance”. Romans 11:29. This verse has long been forgotten so you see that once God blesses you with a gift whether you remain in His Presence or not He does not take it away from you His blessings and gifts are for eternal. Just because a person is religious, pious, learned, miracle worker and even tongue speaking does not make him or her a true believer.

God wants our hearts near to His (Isaiah 29:13), and without this we have only an empty form of religious gibberish, vanity, nonsense, and waste.

Let us not be noisy gongs and clanging symbols (1 Corinthians 13:1), talking a good talk without walking a walk of real faith and true love grounded in Christ.

With Him as our foundation, we can truly build something worthwhile and eternally valuable. Without Him, well, let’s just say that there will be a lot of religious people in hell.

So let’s do it. You can pray one big prayer or focus your prayer on an area that is weighing on your heart the most. But, let’s stop talking about it and start praying about it!

The Spirit-Filled Life

A Prayer To Produce The Fruit Of The Spirit

Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit. — Matthew 12:33

We human beings tend to overlook the simple truths of life and forget that the profound is usually revealed in the simple. For example, we can act out what we are not (at least for a little while), but this will not produce long-term fruit in our lives.

In other words, an apple can only reproduce apples, because that’s what it is at its core (pun intended).

Similarly, if we have an issue with anger, then no matter how kind and demure we try to act, eventually a challenging situation will arise and we’ll blow! As long as that anger goes unchecked and unhealed in our souls, we will continue to produce the fruit of anger. The same holds true for fear, jealousy, depression, low self- esteem, and so much more.

Many of us miss out on the abundant life that Jesus has for us because we haven’t taken an honest look at our spiritual core and recognized that our souls need some work.

Forced to examine the fruit of my own life, I realized that I lacked any real deep joy and was only happy when things were going my way. Instead of having any peace, I was constantly striving for perfection and approval.

I only had one speed — and that was supercharged. I don’t think I even knew how to spell the word patience. I wanted everything yesterday.

I realize that this is not rocket science, but so often we tend to overlook the simple truths of life and forget that the profound is usually revealed in the simple. Remember Jesus’ lesson from the fruit tree: we’ll only produce on the outside what we are growing inside.

Moment of Reflection

Which fruit of God’s Holy Spirit do you see growing in the orchard of your life? Are any missing? Which ones?

Good Fruit

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. — Galatians 5:22-23

No amount of Christian activity compensates for the failure to be an authentic Christian. Our authenticity (or lack thereof) is made evident by the fruit that our lives are bearing. If we’re to be recognized as Christ’s followers, we need to be producing the fruit of His Holy Spirit.

Going to church or praying a prayer doesn’t automatically result in the fruit of the Spirit being produced in our lives. Rather, the condition of our souls strongly influences the fruit that comes our lives.

Quite simply, if there are areas of our souls that have been damaged in some way, we will inevitably produce bad fruit in those areas.

And keep in mind that bad fruit doesn’t necessarily point to a horrific past or abuse — it can simply mean that certain areas of the soul are still not Christ (and we all have these).

We can identify these areas by examining our responses to the people and events in our lives.

For example, when we hear that a coworker has received another promotion, do we exhibit the fruit of kindness and rejoicing, or do we talk about why someone else could do a better job? When we see a grim report on the news, do we freak out, sell our stock portfolio to buy gold, and fill our cellars with a six-month supply of imperishable food? Or do we respond with a strong peace in our hearts, knowing that God will take care of us?

If we want to bear good fruit, working on our soul muscle is imperative, regardless of whether or not our past looks a train wreck ( mine).

The goal for all of us is to develop the kind of prosperous soul from which flows the qualities Paul mentions in Galatians 5.

This fruit cannot be manufactured or externally generated; it results only from soul transformation and an authentic relationship with Jesus.

Your Turn

The fruit of the Spirit cannot be produced on our own efforts any more than a tree or vine has to try with all its might to produce an orange or grapes. The fruit is born out in our lives as we become Him, think Him, and act Him. What do you see God producing in you? What is lacking? Come share with us on our blog. We want to hear from you!

The Fruit of the Spirit

A Prayer To Produce The Fruit Of The Spirit

Galatians 5:22-23 lists nine character traits as the “fruit of the Spirit”:

Verse 23 concludes with, “Against such there is no law.” These characteristics are totally in harmony with the full spiritual intent of God’s holy and beneficial law, and every human government would be happy to have citizens exhibiting these traits.

Growing in the fruit of the Spirit is expected of those who have decided to turn to God. These characteristics aren’t suggestions or possibilities; they are aspects of the mind of God. We are to grow to think and act more God does, and the fruit of the Spirit helps outline the path of a Christian.

Yet many who claim to be Christian don’t display these fruits very well. It takes more than saying you are a Christian; it takes the Holy Spirit to produce the fruit of the Spirit.

Those who have been baptized and received the Holy Spirit should be demonstrating these traits more every day. In fact, without God’s Spirit, the full spiritual maturity of the fruit of the Spirit cannot be achieved. The human spirit can only achieve these characteristics on the surface level, and more often it produces the works of the flesh Paul describes in Galatians 5:19-21:

“Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the ; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”

What does the fruit of the Spirit show others?

Christians who have been given the Holy Spirit have the opportunity to be walking billboards of God’s existence and wisdom. When we demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit, people watch and take notice.

Whether they mock us for being naive when we patiently trust in God through trials or commend us for our generous and loving attitudes, they do see.

Whether they laugh at us for controlling our human impulses or stare in amazement as we find fulfilling peace amidst tragedy, they see.

The fruit of the Spirit shows that God’s way of life, teachings, Spirit and truth are beneficial. It shows that God knew what He was doing when He inspired men to write the words of the Bible. It shows that we are committed to Him and want to help others get to know Him.

Most importantly, our demonstration of the fruit of the Spirit shows that there is an alternative way of life to the one Satan has deceived the majority of people of this world into living (Revelation 12:9; 2 Corinthians 4:3-4). It points people toward the coming Kingdom of God and turns them away from the carnal here and now that has brought so much pain, misery and destruction.

The fruit of the Spirit isn’t about just sitting and waiting for the Kingdom, but rather about training for living God’s way of life now with every thought and action of our lives. Then the example of peace and comfort that comes along with those changed attitudes and standards will be a witness as to why the Kingdom of God is so sorely needed on this earth.

Why we need to grow in the fruit of the Spirit

If we call ourselves Christians, having Christ’s mind in us as new creations, then we must be ever increasing our demonstration of the fruit of the Spirit. This not only affects others around us through our example, but it affects us as well.

In 1 Thessalonians 5:19, Christians are commanded, “Do not quench the Spirit.” We must stay connected to God and always ask Him for more of His Spirit. We must obey God and use His Spirit to become more Him.

Becoming lax in demonstrating the fruit of God’s Holy Spirit is dangerous to our spiritual life.

As Christians, we believe that the Holy Spirit is our guarantee or down payment on eternal life (2 Corinthians 1:21-22; Ephesians 1:13-14).

Knowing this, what happens if the very evidence that we have that Holy Spirit begins to slowly decrease and maybe even eventually disappear due to cynicism, life’s trials, mockery and complacency?

Imagine the Holy Spirit as a roaring campfire. What happens to the fire when we stop putting in the fuel and instead throw dirt on it? It goes out. It no longer produces the light or heat for which it was started.

In the same way if we neglect our relationship with God and become focused on the things of the world, we will extinguish the presence of God’s Spirit in our lives and no longer produce the fruit of the Spirit.

In addition to the importance of showing others how God’s Spirit can work in our lives, Christians must never underestimate the importance of fulfilling the covenant we made with the God of the universe when we were baptized and received the greatest gift of all: His Holy Spirit.

3 Powerful Ways to Produce the Fruit of the Holy Spirit

A Prayer To Produce The Fruit Of The Spirit

It is not enough to know what the Fruit of the Holy Spirit is. You need to understand how to produce them. Here’s an article that will help you accomplish this!

***

God and Jesus Christ commands and expects us to bear good fruit and not just any ordinary fruit, but the fruit of the Holy Spirit. We know from Galatians 5:22-23 that the fruit of the Holy Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, and self-control. Now that we know all these, we must understand how we can produce the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

It is worth noting that it is called the fruit of the Holy Spirit and not the fruit of ourselves. Left by ourselves, we can only be effective in doing the works of the flesh. Though we can produce the fruit of the Holy Spirit in some degrees, it will never be enough.

In this post, let me share with you 3 powerful ways for Christians to produce the Fruit of the Holy Spirit.

1. Be filled and led by the Holy Spirit

The first thing that we must realize is that we need the Holy Spirit for us to produce its fruit. Though it might be obvious, not all people have the Holy Spirit.

This leads us to another question. How do we receive the Holy Spirit?

The Apostle Peter clearly tells us, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” (Acts 2:28). In addition to this, we also need hands to be laid upon us after baptism (Acts 8:17).

We must sincerely recognize that we are sinners and we are nothing apart from God. We need to confess our sins and genuinely repent of them. After that, we must be baptized by a minister of God and let hands be laid upon us. This is the way we receive the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit can do marvelous things in us. It is the power of God that enables us to change our ways. In fact, we can never overcome our sins and develop godly character without the help of the Holy Spirit.

2. Stay close to God and Christ

The second point we need to consider is that when we have the Holy Spirit dwelling in us, in effect, we are abiding in Christ. We read in John 15:1, 4-5:

“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser… Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; FOR WITHOUT ME YOU CAN DO NOTHING.”

From these verses, it is very clear that we are nothing without God and Christ. Notice, in order for us to bear fruit, we must be ATTACHED to the vine! The closer we are to God and Christ, the more fruits we can bear. We need the spiritual nutrition that we get from God and we can only obtain that if we abide in Christ.

If we stay stubborn and think that we can bear fruit by ourselves, fatal consequences await us. As John 15:6 tells us, “If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.” This is a frightening thought that we must all think about.

The bottom line is this: if we want to bear fruit, we must stay close to God and Jesus. There’s NO other way.

3. Stay close to the Church of God

Finally, there is one special way that we can abide in Christ. We can achieve this by staying close to the God’s church or the “Body of Christ.” Notice I Corinthians 12:12-14, 27.

“For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ.

For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.

For in fact the body is not one member but many… NOW YOU ARE THE BODY OF CHRIST, and members individually.”

The church is there to nourish us with spiritual food. Through the messages that we hear every Sabbath service, the teachings we read, and the advice we receive from our brethren, we can have the necessary wisdom to bear more fruit. As iron sharpens iron, we also spiritually grow when we are surrounded by -minded people.

Conclusion

These are the most important and powerful ways we can bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit. We must remember these points. Don’t believe the lie that Satan feeds us. We can never bear good fruit without the help of the Holy Spirit that comes from God the Father and Jesus Christ. May we all produce the fruits that will help us be more effective Christians.

Here’s What the Holy Spirit Wants To Produce in You! | Rick Renner Ministries

A Prayer To Produce The Fruit Of The Spirit

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. — Galatians 5:22,23

One day while visiting a remote village in southern Moldova, a precious Moldavian family invited our family to come to their home for lunch. When we arrived, we could see a huge table set up outside the house under a veranda. The veranda was covered with luscious green vines laden with the biggest grapes I had ever seen anywhere in the world.

As I sat there with Denise and our boys, I looked up to examine the green, white, red, and purple grapes — mixtures of grapes I had never seen before. Soon it was time for dessert, but instead of ice cream or cake, oversized platters overflowing with grapes were placed on the table right before us.

We had never seen such plump, colorful grapes, so at first we just looked at them in amazement. When we finally put them in our mouth and bit down, the juices literally flowed. That was the sweetest fruit we had ever tasted in our lives! My taste buds can almost taste them again as I write about it now.

Fruit is wonderful! It is healthy, beneficial, and delicious. This is one reason the apostle Paul used the word “fruit” to describe the wonderful things the Holy Spirit wants to produce inside our lives!

After Paul discusses the works of the flesh in Galatians 5:19-21, he begins to elaborate about the fruit that the Holy Spirit produces in a believer’s life. In Galatians 5:22 and 23, he writes, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance.…”

Just as Paul previously described the works of the flesh, now he tells us what the Holy Spirit wants to produce in us — and what a contrast there is between the flesh and the Spirit! The flesh produces “works” — from the Greek word ergos, which implies hard work or hard labor.

As noted earlier (see July 14), a life dominated by the flesh is filled with excess, imbalance, unhealthy extremes, laziness, self-abuse, hatred, strife, bitterness, irresponsibility, and neglect. It is the hardest route for any individual, yet the flesh still cries out to be in charge, screaming to have its own way, demanding to be the boss.

On the other hand, a life dominated by the Holy Spirit is filled with benefits and blessings!

Look at what the Spirit produces — fruit! The word “fruit” is from the Greek word karpos, which describes the fruit of plants, the fruit of trees, or the fruit of one’s body, such as a person’s children or offspring.

Regardless of whether it is a plant, an animal, or a human, all fruit is produced from some kind of seed.

If there is no seed, there is no fruit — and the kind of seed that is sown determines the fruit that will be produced (Genesis 1:11,12).

Apples always produce apples; oranges always produce oranges; dogs always produce dogs; cats always produce cats; humans always produce humans. The character of the seed determines the fruit.

The moment you received Jesus as your Savior by faith, God sowed His Spirit and Word into your heart a seed, and you were spiritually born again by the incorruptible seed of the Word of God (1 Peter 1:23).

And just apples always produce apples and oranges always produce oranges, God’s seed inside you immediately began to produce God! The kind of seed always determines the outcome of the fruit; therefore, you should expect your life to yield the fruits of the Spirit, for that is the seed God has sown into your heart.

Does a vinedresser worry that his grapevines might produce oranges? Of course not! He knows that grapevines only produce grapes.

Does the owner of an orange grove run to the orchard to see if his tress produced watermelons? Of course not! He knows his tress will produce oranges because orange trees only produce oranges. If someone wants to grow watermelons, he has to plant watermelon seeds.

Once those watermelon seeds are in the ground, he can rest assured that eventually he will have long vines growing juicy watermelons in his garden.

The same principle holds true in the spiritual realm. To get what you want, you have to plant the right seed, because seed always produces fruit after its kind.

So if God has sown His Spirit and His Word into your heart, you have every right to expect divine fruit to be produced inside you! The fruit that the Spirit produces is wonderful, godly fruit, overflowing with blessings and life.

As you allow the Holy Spirit to produce these fruits in you, you’ll find that people love to be near you because you’re such a pleasurable experience for them.

Once they partake of the love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance that is evident in your life, they will want to come back for multiple servings of that luscious fruit!

So don’t give way to the flesh and allow it to produce its ugly work in your life. Instead, yield to the Spirit and allow the seed of God’s Spirit and Word to produce the fruit of the Spirit in your life.

You are the one who makes the ultimate decision of who is going to rule you, so choose wisely today.

Do you want to walk in the cruel, hard, bitter works of the flesh? Or would you prefer to mortify the deeds of the flesh and allow the Holy Spirit to produce His wonderful fruit in you? Which path are you going to choose?

My Prayer for Today

Lord, thank You for sowing Your Spirit and Word into my life. Forgive me for allowing the flesh to dominate so much of my life. Help me yield to the divine seed You have planted inside me.

I know that Your life resides in me, longing to be released, so today I make the choice to let Your Spirit start working mightily inside me.

Thank You for the life of God that is flowing up from my spirit right now, producing the life and the nature of Jesus Christ in me!

I pray this in Jesus’ name!

My Confession for Today

I confess that the Holy Spirit lives in me and is producing His fruit in my life. The flesh no longer rules or dominates me, for I yield to the peaceful fruit of the Holy Spirit in every sphere of my life.

I demonstrate love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance in my life.

God has sown His Spirit and His Word into my heart; therefore, I expect this divine fruit to be produced inside me.

I declare this by faith in Jesus’ name!

Questions to Answer

1. Can you think of one person who manifests the character of Jesus Christ so much that when you are with him or her, you feel as if you have been with Jesus? What specific qualities are exhibited in the life of this person that make you feel that way?

2. What steps do you need to take so the Holy Spirit can more readily produce this godly fruit in your own life? For instance, what role do you think prayer or reading your Bible has in developing the fruit of the Spirit in your life?

3. If you were to ask others what kind of fruit they see in your life, how do you think they would answer?
