Prayer To Be Prepared For Finals

Be Prepared For the Final Exams

Prayer To Be Prepared For Finals

Being a student you are always worried that I have to prepare for the exams. And above all you want to prepare for your Final Exams. You come in a new class.

Give exams occasionally and then after passing the exams you again come to the new class.  But my dear brothers and sisters have you ever thought for your final exams of your whole life.

Are you preparing for the final exam; the last day?? ?

Imagine that you have given your worldly final exams, you feel your tensions released as  there will be no more exams. You have given very good exams as your preparation for the exam was very good. Now you can rest, you can socialize and sleep as much as you can.

Now let’s flip the coin and imagine that your last Final Exam; the exam of the Day of Judgment is approaching and you have prepared for it very good. So now you are not afraid of death. You can answer the Questions given in your exam.

Curriculum For The Final Day

You must be thinking that for your exams of this world you have proper curriculum and a specified amount of time is given to you to prepare for your final exam and there is no curriculum for the final day’s exam. But my dear fellows you have complete curriculum for the final Day’s Exam.

The Book of your Curriculum is the Holy Quran and your instructor is The Holy Prophet (SAW).

“Then surely, We shall question those (people) to whom it (the book) was sent and verily, We shall question the Messengers.”

( Al-A’raf, 6 and 7)

Preparation For The Final exams

We are so busy preparing for our academic exams that we wakeup whole nights and days, we are not aware of the fact that I have not eaten anything or I have not socialized for days.

Rather we are busy preparing for our academic exams because we want to succeed in our exams. But have you ever think of preparing this for the Final Day’s exam.  Waking at night to be answerable to our Lord.

Reciting Quran at nights and the days to be succeeded in the Final Exam. Preparing for the Final test in such a way that we are not afraid of death.

The examination Hall; The Final Exam

Dear Friends have you ever noticed that the examination hall of academic exams is giving the scene of the Final Day’s exam. You are alone.

No friend of you is worried of you rather everyone is worried of his own self to get succeeded.

Similarly on the Day of Judgment, everyone have to stand together at a place where they will be held accountable in front of God. Everyone is accountable of his own deeds. Allah says in Qur’an:

“The Day is approaching when every soul shall find itself confronted with whatever good it has done and whatever evil it has wrought. It will then wish there is a wide space between it and the Day! Allah warns you to beware of Him; He is most tender towards His servants.”

(Surat Al-Imran, 30)

Now let us come to the Question paper of our Final Day’s Exam indeed we are so lucky that we know the questions to be asked in our Final paper.

The First Question

The first question that will be asked from the people on the Day of Judgment is about the Prayers

Prophet (SAW) said:

“The first thing the people will be accountable for on the Day of Judgment is prayer, Allah will say to His angels (even though he already knows) : “Look at my servants prayers. Were they complete or not?” If they were complete it will be written as complete.

If they were not fully complete Allah will say: “See if my servant has voluntary prayers, if he has them Allah will say: Complete his obligatory prayers shortage with his voluntary prayers.” Then the rest of his deeds will be dealt with in the same manner.

(Reported by Imams Ahmad, Abu Dawood, An-Nisa’i, and Al-Hakim)

Questions In The Final Day’s Exam

The Prophet Muhammad (SAW)  said that:

“The two feet of the son of Adam will not move from near his Lord on the Day of Judgment until he is asked about five (matters) concerning his life – how he spent it; about his youth – how he took care of it; about his wealth – how he earned it; and where he spent it and about that which he acted upon from the knowledge he acquired.” [Tirmidhi]

So there is no escape from these five major questions that will be:

  1. How he lived his justify?
  2. How he utilized his youth?
  3. What means did he earn his wealth?
  4. How did he spend his wealth?
  5. What did he do with his knowledge?

So are you prepared for the Final exams??? Are you able to answer the Questions??? For this you have to be prepared and donate your days and nights to complete the Whole Curriculum.

Few Suggestions

  1. Read and Understand Quran.
  2. Make Dua that Allah help us to answer the Question on the Day of Judgment.
  3. As a youth do something beneficial for the mankind.
  4. Offer your daily prayers.
  5. Give Loan to Allah i.e. spend your wealth to help the Creation of God. Give Zakat.
  6. Be kind polite and helpful to Allah’s Creation.

In the end we would you to ask Allah for our forgiveness and pray to Him that everyone can answer the Question easily. May you yourself  succeed in the Final Exam. Ameen

7 Prayers For Forgiveness and Repentance

Prayer To Be Prepared For Finals

Forgiveness and repentance go hand-in-hand in a Christian’s life.  We must learn to always forgive others and to ask for forgiveness ourselves.  Without repentance, we are liable of judgment from God.

If we withhold forgiveness to others, forgiveness will also be withheld from us.  Here are 7 prayers focusing on forgiveness and repentance.

May we all strive to live as holy as possible by allowing the Spirit to convict us of our sins and to forgive others that sin against us.

Forgive Me

Father,

There are no words to express how filthy I feel every time I break Your heart.  The guilt and the shame are overwhelming!  Lord, I need Your touch right now.  I am so sick of being “born again” and still doing the things I hate doing.  Paul, I am conflicted.

“For I do not do what I want, but do the very thing that I hate.” (Romans 7:15) I am so sorry!  Father, I ask for Your forgiveness right now.  I am shocked that my life has come to a point where even some sins don’t affect me at all.

Father, I have some hard layers on my heart that need peeling.  Please give me a 100% heart of flesh.  The hardness is a barrier between us that I can’t stand!  I love You and I am so regrettably sorry for my selfish actions.  Thank You for Your forgiveness, Lord.

Without forgiveness I am nothing.  With Your forgiveness I am whole again.  I praise Your Name!  Amen

Strength To Forgive Others

Holy Lord,

With Your forgiveness I am whole again. I praise Your Name! Amen

I can’t seem to shake the harm that’s been done to me off my shoulders.  I am wallowing in the anger I feel.  Lord, I shouldn’t think the vengeful thoughts that I have.  You have called me to forgive every single person that wrongs me.  I need Your strength to overcome these trespasses against me.  Father, I want to forgive these people.

Please cast the devil’s evil ways from me.  I want to look at these people and see lost souls that need You.  I want to forgive them completely so that You can use me however You wish, to be Jesus to them.  Father, I am done with holding these grudges!  Forgive me for holding on to them.  I cast this burden at Your throne now.  Do with me as you please Father.

I love You and thank you for Your patience with me.  Amen

Why Lord?

Beautiful Lord,

Why do You forgive us?  We shout praises to You when we sing worship.  With the same tongue we curse other people that are made in Your image. (James 3:9 reference)  Why do You forgive us?  We say we love You and still keep sinning.

Why do You forgive us?  We spend time in prayer thanking You for your blessings and then we refuse to bless others.  Why do You forgive us?  We read our Bibles when we make time for it, but we also read other nonsense that is offensive to You.

Why do You forgive us?  We praise Jesus for His death on the cross for the atonement of our sins and then we nail Him to it again every time we trespass against You.  Why do You forgive us every single time?  I am so thankful for your endless supply of forgiveness!  I can’t fathom how You do it, for I am only one man.

You do this for every single person!  The compassion and grace and mercy that flow from You is absolutely amazing and I love You for it!  Thank you so much for forgiving me every time I sin!  You are worthy to be praised!  Amen

Repentance From Unbelievers

Father in heaven,

My heart grieves for those close to me that do not want to know You.  They are lost souls wandering wherever the devil takes them.  They are fulfilling their own desires of the flesh instead of yearning for the life that You give.

Father, use me or anyone that You please to show Christ- love to them.  Father, I love these men and women and to think of them in eternal torment is tormenting me!  I pray that the seeds that are planted in them Lord will be grown by You.

You make miracles happen every day and I pray that You make one today in the lives of the lost.  I praise Your Holy Name!  Amen

Forgiveness For Children

Father,

Just as Job continually offered burnt offerings to you for the forgiveness of his children, (Job 1:5) I am praying for the forgiveness of mine.  Lord, only You know what they have done.  If they have sinned against You I pray that You would forgive them.

I pray that they would seek repentance to make things right with You.  Lord, if there is any sin that needs to be forgiven, I pray that You would soften their hearts and bring them safely into Your arms of grace and mercy.

I thank you for Your unlimited love for us!  Amen

Our Leaders

Omnipotent Father,

You are all-powerful!  Even Your thoughts produce action.  I pray for our leaders in the government.  Lord, they also have power, though it is limited.  I pray that they would use their positions wisely, for You are the One who has allowed them to lead us.  We need strong men and women of faith in these kinds of roles.

I pray that our men and women in authority will strive to live godly lives and to repent when necessary.  As in Animal Farm, “Absolute power corrupts absolutely.”  If there is any corruption, I pray that our leaders would repent and ask for forgiveness, so that our country doesn’t fall apart.

I thank you for our leaders and pray for their safety.  I love you Father!  Amen

Our Pastors

Dear Lord,

I pray for pastors around the world.  If there is any un-confessed sin active in their lives, I pray that You would bring them to the deepest valleys if that is what it takes to get them back on the narrow path.  We need strong pastors leading our congregations.

I pray that You would use the people closest to their pastors to keep them accountable, Lord.  Accountability is a must in every Christian’s life.  I thank you for our pastors, Lord, for they have a huge role to play here on earth.

They have many big responsibilities and I am so grateful that they accept the challenges of pastoring.  I love You, Lord!  Amen

Conclusion

Forgiveness is absolutely necessary in a Christian’s walk with the Lord.  “Forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone who is indebted to us.” (Luke 11:4)  God bless you as you live a life worthy of the calling!

Rav Kook Torah

Prayer To Be Prepared For Finals

Before praying, the rabbis taught, it is not enough to direct one’s thoughts. We should prepare not only the mind but also the heart. Which emotions are conducive to sincere prayer?

Avoiding Sorrow and Idleness

There are two emotions that the Sages specifically mentioned to avoid before prayer. “One should not stand up to pray while immersed in sorrow or idleness” (Berachot 31a). Why are these two emotions particularly detrimental to prayer?

We function in three realms — in our thoughts, emotions, and actions — and we aspire to serve God in all three. We serve God in the realm of thought through Torah study, and in the realm of deed through practical mitzvot.

Between these inner and external services of God lies the intermediate realm of prayer, the service of the heart. Prayer engages our emotions, and through them bolsters the other two realms.

It inspires the mind to contemplate pure and holy thoughts, and it encourages the body to perform good deeds.

However, the mind and the body must be ready to accept the positive influence of prayer. For this reason the Sages counseled that one should avoid sorrow and idleness.

One who is sad or depressed will be discouraged from intellectual exerting himself to seek pure and enlightened thoughts. And idleness is a lethargic state when one is disinclined from engaging in good deeds.

If we can steer away from these two emotions, we will be more receptive to the spiritual benefits of prayer.

Four Preparations

The Sages also listed four activities that are inappropriate before prayer because of the emotional state that they induce. They are: laughter, conversation , frivolity, and idlechatter.

To merit heartfelt prayer, we must prepare ourselves in four aspects.

First, we need to acquire an overall attitude of seriousness and reverence. This is the opposite of joking and laughter. Those who constantly jest belittle their sense of reverence and respect. For such people, nothing is serious and nothing really matters. Nothing needs to be respected — including their own inner self and their higher aspirations.

The second preparation for prayer is to internalize the truth that the soul’s true perfection is only to be found in its inner happiness. We must recognize the unique honor and joy when the soul is enlightened with the light of knowledge and awe of God.

Since the soul attains true happiness when it meditates inwards, during prayer we should avoid any activity that indicates that our happiness may be found outside of ourselves.

This is the essence of conversation: that we seek what we lack, not within ourselves, but in others.

The third preparation is to avoid frivolity — literally, kalut-rosh (light headedness). It is important that we conduct ourselves according to our highest visualization of awe of heaven. There should not be a disconnect between our ideals and our behavior.

Thus we must avoid kalut-rosh, which indicates an attitude of disregarding one’s cognitive inner truths, a willingness to act in contradiction to one’s beliefs.

This negates the very purpose of prayer, which works to create harmony between the three realms of mind, heart, and body.

The final preparation for prayer is to internalize the importance of speech. Only if we are able to fully value our faculty of speech — a unique gift to humanity — can we grasp a proper image of the value of prayer. Therefore we should avoid idlechatter, especially before prayer, as such talk belittles the value of speech. Rather, we should respect and safeguard this gift.

To summarize the four principles of true prayer:

  • Taking ourselves and our higher aspirations seriously;
  • What we truly seek is within, not without;
  • Harmony between belief and deed;
  • Appreciating the power of speech.
  • Mitzvah Joy

Avoiding sorrow and idleness, refraining from laughter, conversation, frivolity, and idle chatter — these are all negative guidelines. Is there also a positive preparation for prayer?

The Sages mentioned one emotion as a positive preparation for prayer: “the joy of performing a mitzvah.

” While a mitzvah is an external deed performed for others, the joy in its performance is an internal emotion. It is a feeling of accomplishment as the soul rejoices in the goodness of its path.

This feeling of completeness, the harmonious balance between our external and internal worlds, is uniquely suitable for prayer.
