An Honest Prayer For Peace In The World

Prayers for Financial Peace

An Honest Prayer For Peace In The World

Are you under financial strain? Pray today for the grace to be able to trust God for provision, wisdom, and direction, and the grace to be able to see past the fearful circumstances and continue in joy!

Prayer for Financial Peace (1)

I know that You are the source of all my good and that You provide for me in all ways.

Please help me release the fears that block me from receiving Your gifts.

Please help me feel the emotions of peace, gratitude and financial security and to know that I am Your child upon whom You bestow great blessings.

I now stay open to Divine guidance, which perfectly leads me to situations, people and opportunities that are part of Your plan for my financial peace.

I now see and feel myself and everyone else as completely financially secure and my heart overflows with gratitude and joy at the abundant universe that You created.

Thank You and Amen.

Save now, I pray, O Lord;
O Lord, I pray, send now prosperity.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!
We have blessed you from the house of the Lord.

~ Psalm 118:25–26

Prayer for Financial Peace (2)

Dear Father,

You who are gracious and kind, hear my prayer! I face more financial pressure than I can bear.

“Save [me] now, I pray.” Show me, Lord, what I must do to get out from under this heavy burden.

Give me Your wisdom and discipline, I pray, that I may move toward resolution of this situation.

Guard my heart, Lord, and my steps; protect me from bad advice and foolish actions.

Draw me close to You, for I need Your comfort and guidance.  In Jesus’ name Amen.

“Listen to Me, O house of Jacob,
And all the remnant of the house of Israel,
Who have been upheld by Me from birth,
Who have been carried from the womb:
Even to your old age, I am He,
And even to grey hairs I will carry you!
I have made, and I will bear;
Even I will carry, and will deliver you.”

~ Isaiah 46:3–4

Prayer for Financial Peace (3)

Gracious and generous God, You are the Giver of all good gifts. You know my needs before I bring them to You.

And You who have faithfully “carried [me] from the womb” promise to continue to carry me and deliver me through any problems I may encounter.

Right now, Lord, I ask for deliverance from difficult financial issues that You are well aware of. Lord, I know that this apparently impossible situation is not impossible for You, that You are sovereign and wise and good, so I ask You for wisdom and to deliver me — and to You be all the glory!

Deliver me, I pray, that I may faithfully serve You in all things. Amen.

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.~ 3 John 1:2–4

I just wanted to share because I find that when I truly allow God into my financial life and let him lead, I feel more guided and at peace.

I found this prayer in a book many years ago.

Prayer for Financial Peace (4)

Dear God,

I surrender to You my wealth, I surrender to You my debts.

Whatever fear I have about money, please remove this fear from my mind.

Whether I believe that money is scarce, or money is too important, or money is bad, or money is unspiritual, whatever my ideas are that block me — and You know what they are — Dear Lord, please help me.

I wish to have whatever abundance You see fit for me.

I want money to flow freely into me and through me that it might bless my life and the lives of others.

I surrender to You now any judgements I might have on those who have wealth.

I do not wish to judge, for I know my judgements holds back my own abundance.

Whatever lack of integrity I might have shown, if I am indebted or have violated anyone else, please wash me clean and heal my mind and soul.

Please show me what behaviour You would have me follow, Lord, that I might begin again.

Please place within my mind the attitudes toward money that You would have me hold.

I give up my own interpretations and ask for Yours.

Whatever money comes to me, may it be used to serve You.

Thank You. Amen.

An excerpt from a fantastic blog:-

I’m not sure exactly when it happened or exactly which event was the proverbial straw, but at some point, as Chuck and I stopped spending and instead started reflecting and talking about our finances, I realized that I had changed.  My goals had changed.  My desires had changed.  The way I viewed money and spending had changed.

And while I am still learning, still growing, still changing, and still terribly in need of Grace, when it comes to finding Financial Peace, this is what I’ve learned so far:

Pray hard

I will admit that my prayers have often been a tad on the selfish side.  In fact, if I am being completely honest, they probably still are to some extent.

Help me, bless me, be with me are still common themes.

But my prayer this year has been for God to change my heart, to lead me where HE would have me go, and to take away my desire for the things of this world, the things that don’t matter.

This is a scary prayer to pray because if you pray for this, God will answer.  Your heart will change.  You will be led to do things you otherwise that you wouldn’t have, and to redefine your life and all your goals.

Give Freely

And no, I don’t mean money.  Give of yourself, your time, your talents.  In the words of Ruth Stafford Peale, “find a need and fill it.”  The best and easiest way to stop focusing on what you are missing is to start focusing on what you can do for others.  Stop being so stingy with your time!

Believe me, I understand feeling you just don’t have time to do any more. But this is where prayer again comes into play.

When I started praying for God to change my heart, he began pressing on me to volunteer with the kids program at my church.  It was something I had always resisted.

It would take too much time, was too much work, too exhausting, too much commitment.  And besides, what if I missed out on some great sermons?

But when I finally gave in, finally started volunteering, it became abundantly clear that this was exactly where I was supposed to be.  And although sometimes it is hard and exhausting and a lot of work, it has also changed my perspective about what is important.  It is impossible to feel sorry for yourself when you are actively working to serve others.

So volunteer at your kids’ school or at your church.  Spend a few hours visiting with residents of a local rest home or assisted living center.  Serve food at a local food bank or become a mentor to at-risk youth.  Call a single mom and offer to watch her kids for a few hours so she can have a break.  Help an elderly neighbor with some yard work.

I guarantee you are needed somewhere.

Less is More

Our consumer-driven culture is SO engrained in this idea of more, more, more.  Bigger houses, better cars, wider televisions with more channels, the very latest gadgets and electronics.   As Dave Ramsey in his amazing, life-changing book, The Total Money Makeover, puts it, “we spend money we don’t have to buy things we  don’t need to impress people we don’t .”

Our thoughts are so consumed by wanting that next big thing that we rarely take the time to even enjoy what we already have.

A few weeks ago I wrote about the changes I observed within my two daughters when I took all their toys away.  The difference it made for them was immediate:  they were happier, less bored, more creative, more empathetic, less whiney, more helpful.  In a word: content.

Over the past year, as I’ve tried to eliminate the excess stuff in our home and now especially during this month of no spending, I have been pleasantly surprised time and again at just how content I feel with less.  The more I get rid of, the less I want.  That constant pressure to buy the next thing has been relieved, and the stress of figuring out what to do with all this stuff is (almost) gone.

Spending is not Saving

This is often my biggest challenge.  Being Dutch, the thrill of bargain hunting is literally in my blood!  I convince myself over and over and over again that because something is a hot deal, I am saving money.  But spending is not saving!

Take Money Advice from the Right People

There are an endless number of people or companies offering up their “expert” opinion on where or how you should spend your money, and the scary truth is that the vast majority of them don’t have your best interests at heart.

wise, the societal pressure to keep up appearances can be fierce and it is easy to buy into the notion that in order to maintain a certain standard of living, you must spend money on certain things.

We see the people around us with better cars, bigger TVs, newer kitchens, the latest iPhone, nicer clothes and think “if they can afford it then I can too.

”   We get so caught up in the image that we fail to realize that, many times, the people we are emulating can’t afford it either!

Dave puts it a little more bluntly:  Stop taking advice from broke people!

Don’t listen to the people who tell you to spend more, or who make you feel what you have isn’t quite good enough.

Finding financial peace is hard work.  It requires real sacrifice and real change, and can even feel a little painful sometimes.  Even so, the rewards are ultimately worth every ounce of effort you put in.

Quote:

“My children were taught at an early age how money works and that it comes from hard work. They’ve been on a commission – not an allowance – since they were little. They learned that if they worked around the house, they got paid. If they didn’t work, they didn’t get paid.” ~ Dave Ramsey

(Al-Quran 2:208)

A prayer for peace is a tool to make your crooked path straight and wide. Allah is the creator of everything in this world.

He knows everything and when we pray to him, we get closer to him and he promises to help his creature when his creature calls him.

Only Allah can give us freedom from worries and we can get inner peace only by renouncing Satan and by seeking forgiveness from Allah for our sins.

5 Powerful Prayers for Peace Within

An Honest Prayer For Peace In The World

Is your heart troubled? Are you feeling the psalmist, who asked his own soul, “Why are you in despair? And why have you become disturbed within me?” One of the hardest parts of knowing peace is understanding how it has nothing to do with control.

If you're having trouble with trust or finding the words to pray above the howling of the scary storms, feel free to offer up these words to the Lord now! Below are 5 of our most favorite prayers to speak when we need God's peace to speak over our heart and mind.

A Prayer for Peace Within

Oh Lord, sometimes my insides feel a battle zone, where missiles are falling too close to home. Other times I'm caught in an endless storm, with thoughts flying control.

Confusion reigns, and defeat creeps in to steal my joy. I need your peace—the deep-down-in-your-heart kind that stays with me day and night and speaks confidently into the wind.

Calm my anxious spirit, Lord; all the attacking “if-onlys” and “what-ifs” fill me with needless worry.

I know that trust is a big part of experiencing peace and that fear has no place in my life. Most of the things I worry about or dread don't even happen. So I'm declaring my trust in you.

I'm releasing the reins of my life again and asking you to take control. I may need to pray this same prayer daily, but I'm tired of the frenzy of life that leaves my schedule and my thoughts without any margin.

I need more of you, Lord, and less of me.

I surrender and admit: I can't control people, plans, or even all my circumstances, but I can yield those things to you, and focus on your goodness.

Thank you today for every good gift you've given, every blessing you've sent, all the forgiveness I did not deserve, and, yes, for every trial you've allowed into my life. You bring good every circumstance if I'll only let go and believe you.

I know that when I pray and give thanks instead of worrying, you have promised that I can experience the kind of peace that passes all understanding. That's your kind of peace, Lord. And it's the kind I crave.

Whenever I’m stressed, anxious, or afraid, help me remember to run to you. You're the only one that can calm my fears and end my fretful behavior.

Whether in trivial or heavy matters, I know you will not only give me peace; Lord, you will be my peace.

And when I draw close to you—in prayer, in reading your Word, in helping another, in taking my mind off myself—you will be there, up close and personal.

I can't handle these times alone, Lord. Will you speak peace and calm my storms, or hold my hand while we walk through them together? Will you bring the reassuring wisdom of those who have come through similar times into my life? Thank you, Lord. I'm trusting you.

In the name of the One who makes the wind and the waves stand still, Amen. ~ Rebecca Barlow Jordan

A Short Prayer for Peace

Lord, I come before you ready to pour out my worries, anxieties and fears at Your feet. I am claiming and declaring Your promises for blessings of peace and strength over my life. Bring a peace into my soul that passes all worldly understanding and make me a light for others to see Your strength.

A Prayer for Peace of Mind

Almighty God, We bless you for our lives, we give you praise for your abundant mercy and grace we receive. We thank you for your faithfulness even though we are not that faithful to you. Lord Jesus, we ask you to give us all around peace in our mind, body, soul and spirit. We want you to heal and remove everything that is causing stress, grief, and sorrow in our lives.

Please guide our path through life and make our enemies be at peace with us. Let your peace reign in our family, at our place of work, businesses and everything we lay our hands on.

Let your angels of peace go ahead of us when we go out and stay by our side when we return. In Jesus' name, Amen.

A Prayer for Missing Peace

Father God, my heart is filled with chaos and confusion. I feel as if I am drowning in my circumstances and my heart is filled with fear and confusion. I really need the strength and peace that only You can give. Right now, I choose to rest in You. In Jesus' name, Amen. ~ Mary Southerland

A Prayer for Peace When You're Overwhelmed

Lord, when my heart is overwhelmed, overwhelm me with Your peace. Lead me to You, my rock. Guide me to Your Word which gives me strength and refuge. Help me not to run to lesser things. Draw me to run to You first. Help me get into the habit of taking my “overwhelmed” and placing it under your will. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus’ Name, Amen. ~ Jennifer Rothschild

A Prayer for the Troubled Heart

Dear God, Our world is hurting and broken. We pray for those who have lost loved ones this week, please comfort them in their grief and loss, cover them with your peace and presence, as only your Spirit can do.

We know that in whatever we face, you are our Peace and Refuge, a very present help in times of trouble. Thank you that you remind us throughout your Word, we do not face the storms alone, but you are always with us.  Whispering calm.

Speaking peace. Bringing rest to our souls.

We confess our need for you. We ask you to forgive us for trying to figure everything out on our own, for not trusting that you are more than able and powerful to work on our behalf.

Forgive us for picking back up what we already determined to lay down at your feet.

Give us the ability to trust you more, give us a heart that finds rest in your presence, give us the wisdom to seek peace and pursue it, remembering it’s only to be found in you alone.

Thank you that your yoke is easy and your burden is light. Thank you that you care for us. Thank you that the peace of your loving and strong presence guards and protects our hearts and minds in you.

Thank you that we do not have to walk in fear or live in overwhelmed cycles of worry and stress. Thank you for your voice that breaks through the greatest wind and storm swirling around us, and whispers “Peace, be still.

” Thank you that you sent your One and Only Son to set us free. In the Mighty Name of Jesus, Amen. ~ Debbie McDaniel

A Prayer for Peace in Hard Times

Lord, when my heart is overwhelmed, overwhelm me with Your peace. Lead me to You, my rock. Guide me to Your Word which gives me strength and refuge. Help me not to run to lesser things. Draw me to run to You first. Help me get into the habit of taking my “overwhelmed” and placing it under your will. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus’ Name, Amen. ~ Lysa Terkeurst

Lord, how I long to break free from negative thinking and embrace peace and joy and optimism. I invite You to begin transforming my thought patterns and help me recognize, reject and replace thoughts that are not pleasing to You. In Jesus' Name, Amen. ~ Traci Miles
